Wembanyama about facing a depleted Lakers team : “No pity. […] No matter who’s on the floor, there’s always someone in the other team who wanna hurt you, so we should never take our foot off the gas.”
His mama was on the crowd watching. That explains his unusual energy today. Wemby usually plays down against G-Leaguers.
That would explain why in the same interview he said he wanted to go back playing, when the journalist asked about this potentially being a 60pts game if he played more
And grandmama I thought
wemby’s got that dawg in him.
Only 3.5 wins behind OKC.
Go Suns Go
Broke: OKC
Woke: HEB
BELT. TO. ASS.
Beat that Laker ass.
Good
Yup well said Wemby
Yea, we need that attitude as it is biggest issue. We often play to the ‘level’ of our opponent. It is great when they are a contender but it also happens against lottery teams too.
Sweep the leg Wemby, no mercy.
This dude is going to bring back the MJ level of competition in the NBA & Allstar game that LeBron and his peers destroyed with the teaming up friendship bullcrap era. Wemb is what the league has needed for a long time and as he takes the mantel of this era LeBron his peers will follow his lead. We have some great future basketball games and rivalries ahead of us
Victor “No Mercy” Yanbanyana
You kinda already know he’s gonna win a championship at some point. I’m just hoping it’s not a lot
I’ve said this plenty of times in the past year, but we’re all doomed
No mercy okayyyyy
I respect that mentality and wish the Lakers did more of that themselves against bad trams. Also, if you just kick ass out of the gate, you get to rest your rotation players!
Wemby: There are some things I’m interested doing in here.
Rob Pelinka: Let me tour you around in this beautiful city.
Can’t wait for this guy to be a Laker.
Add this to the Lakers fan fiction folder
To be fair, up until a year ago we absolutely would have also said “Add this to the Lakers fan fiction folder” if someone suggested Luka becoming a Laker…
anomaly
Lebron
Luka
Anthony Davis
Alex Caruso
Four all time greats just happen to fall into the Lakers in the last 10 years and you think its an anomaly?
Okay that was funny
buddy said alex caruso
Yeah, yeah, yeah, just like when people said that about Kareem, Wilkes, Shaq, Pau, Dwight, LeBron, AD, Luka, etc. Listen, the NBA, like all major sports, is rigged. Do you honestly believe otherwise? The Lakers always have to have a top 5 player because that makes the league the most money. It’s just good business. When the time comes, there is a great possibility that Wemby will be a Laker. And if not him, someone better will be a Laker.
Unless the Spurs hires nico harrison as GM, I just don’t see wemby wearing anything other than a Spurs jersey.
Maybe at the end of his career he’ll spent his twilight years in another team, but even then it’s unlikely given how well the spurs care about their superstars and how much he loves this team. I think wemby will stay a spurs for life, just like tim duncan before him.
And just like Kawhi Leonard? If the NBA wants him on the Lakers, a Laker he shall be. This is one of the most crooked leagues in sports. Honestly, it’s disgusting.
Kawhi was never a Laker, and he was never a superstar.
Stop pushing a narrative and making strawman arguments just because you feel like complaining.
I’m saying that people thought Kawhi would be a Spur for like, just like Duncan before him. The same was said about it Luka and Dirk. Strawman argument? lol did you just learn that term? Because you’re using it incorrectly. I am right and you all know it. This league is rigged. No one’s stars are safe. Lakers must always have a top 5 player. Just facts.
You can’t really compare both cuz the context is completely different. When kahwi left the spurs duncan had just retired, tp and ginobili were near the end of their career, and there was a shit ton of drama in his last season with his injury.
Rn the spurs drafted wemby, castle, and harper 3 years in a row. Add to this carter, and more potential top tier rookies given how many 1st round picks they still have… They’re stacked for at least the next ten years.
Unless a major fuck up happens, I honestly don’t see how they’d lose wemby. Especially since the spurs was his favourite team since he was a kid, the fact that they got first pick in his draft year was just fate at this point.
There is no such thing as fate in the NBA. It is rigged. There are so many examples to point to. Come on now.
Who was the top 5 player on the Lakers from ‘14 to ‘18?
NBA rigged the draft three years in a row to give the lakers enough assets (three straight #2 picks) to get a top five player. Turned out to be…LeBron. The assets were trade for….AD. Come on.
wow, I don’t think even Mr. Fantastic could make a reach that far
