[Highlights] Bronny James blocks Kelly Olynyk and then makes the step back 3 over him, and shortly after scores a floater and finds Dalton Knecht for the driving layup
Bronny currently has more points than 13th overall pick and 12 year vet Kelly olynyk
Outscored and outplayed Rui
25% fg% in the triple single
Gabe vincent could never đđđ
This is why I kept questioning why the hell we were playing Gabe Vincent so much earlier this season and giving Bronny no minutes. Heâs not good, but unlike Gabe he has potential, and even if he shot poorly itâs not like Gabe was doing much of anything either. Both are small defensive guards, but I actually think Bronny would be more effective because heâs faster and is deceptively strong for his size. Plus heâs got hops. Idk, I just think if weâre gonna have him on the roster, why not give him like 5 minutes off the bench a night? Especially in less competitive games
Because Gabe was getting paid nearly the MLE and you have to justify spending that kind of money even if itâs glaringly obvious he was a bad signing
because Bronny was given the chance earlier in the year and he doesn’t have any confidence to shoot. And Gabe is an establish vet who at least try to execute even though he sucks ass.
When you are in the end of bench player and you didn’t show up when you were given chance, it’s hard to get more playing minutes.
Bro hesitated on like one or two wide open 3âs and thatâs it for him? Nah, thatâs dumb. Those few games he played werenât even bad, he played decently and held his own for the most part, he wasnât a negative on the floor. Dalton kept getting chances despite being a consistent negative and being unable to follow schemes, and Gabe Vincent was literally shooting 20% at the rim bro, if those guys deserve to play then Bronny deserves another chance.
Seriously… imagine if they just said fuck Kobe after he airballed 3 shots against Utah because he got a chance and failed.
Can you imagine if social media existed then? They would’ve begged to trade him for a bag of chips.
Guys like Bronny have barely gotten any meaningful PT.
like I said, end of bench guy doesn’t get that many chance, he has to take every single chance given to him.
Dalton showed he can shoot last year, Gabe was season vet, I know what you are saying, but that’s just how it’s working. You can see Dalton now also doesn’t get that much playing time because he is not doing his job.
People gave the Bronny draft pick shit but heâs clearly been improving and getting better
He has the athleticism and IQ to play in the league. He just needs to have some more confidence and at worst he can do what Gary Peyton Jr did with the Warriors.
âAt worstâ is just such a stretch. If his floor was GP2, heâd be playing regular minutes on a team that could absolutely use a guy with that skillset. At absolute worst, Bronny still isnât a clear NBA rotation guy. Comments like these are always made when garbage time highlights come up for a bunch of random dudes.
I think he means that if he keeps improving the way he has been he can get to a point where at worst his floor will be Gary Payton Jr. Which to be fair is quite generous but not that outlandish
His ceiling is GP2, not his floor
Who wouldâve thought that taking a chance on a guy with the genes of the greatest athlete in NBA history would be a smart move
Heâs a career 45% TS on low volume player all in garbage time against bad players
Bronny has sort of balled out todayÂ
Kevin Love happy somewhere.
This isnât me trolling but the lakers really ruined his development this year by not moving him to the g league but also never giving him pt. I actually think he has the tools to become a great role player. These are the games where you let younger and more developmental guys get all the run. I really wanna see what a good developing org can do with him.
The G league can only do so much for a player. You gotta remember that Bronny dropped 39 in the G league and averaged 22 in the G league which sould tell you the level of play there. Getting to practice with actual NBA players will probably do better than playing against end of the bench guys in the NBA.
Would you rather him play or not play. He doesnât need minutes now, but he needs some form of playong
I would rather he join Lakers practices than play in the G league. Defending Luka is more valuable than scoring on random g leaguers for his development
The problem is nba teams barely practice this days because of all the traveling. So if you not give him development mins in an nba games, he will never get the consistency and build the confident. You better off let him play in g league, and itâs not like he played well in g league either, other 39 pts from a single game, his stats in g league is average for a guard. 18 ppg in 41% fg is bang average, consider heâs get high tactical status in sbl and have the green light to chuck, unlike with the main team
Bronny doesnât average 22 in g league. Last season he average 18 on 41% fg shooting. Thats not impressive considering g league is a guard league and he could be the number one option in the g league
I was referring to his regular season stats.
You shouldnât look at only regular season stats. Because stats in g league regular season could be deceptive. The team he play in regular season doesnât have all their best players, since the players either got call up to the main nba team because the team want to tank, just look at the wizard play their g league players right now, or got call up for injury replacement, so most of the game he play are against the back up of the g league team. The tip off tournament, in early season before the tanking and injury began, is where the g league team is at their full strength. And coincidentally, he was horrific to below average, this season and last season. Avg 13 on 36%fg and 10 on 35% fg
Austin said guys like Bronny and Timme who were with the team were constantly playing games with him to help him work back from injury, so it’s not like they aren’t practicing with the actual NBA team lol
Tbf, thatâs goes for all nba players that comeback from injury. Tatum and Robert Williams were assign to g league team and practice there, especially the latter before coming back. I donât think nba team has much time to practice this days because of all the pack schedule, while the g league team is the opposite. They have more time to practiceÂ
Austin wasnât assigned to the gleague cause they were on a super long road trip and he wanted to return during it so he was with the main team
You would get a lot more from practicing and being with the NBA guys than you would from being in the G-League. When it comes to player development youâd rather be the worst guy in the room than the best.
Dude, development is not only practicing. You need to apply it in game, make mistake and learn. The problem with Bronny is that he bury on the deep bench, so he doesnât build any consistency nor momentum. You not progressing that way, you better let him play in g league, make all those mistakes in the g league if reddick not gonna give him any minutes
Because JJ is a shit player development coach. Doesnât give the boys any PT. Even before the injury, he barely played Adou.
Heâs been with the g league all year.
He hasnât, heâs been in and out and heâs barely played in any of those games.
I now understand why monarchies are so prevalent.
Just need to continue to see Bronny build his confidence
While down by 30
This just in: NBA player makes some NBA plays.
You don’t know how proud this sentence makes me lol. Even haters can admit it now, praise Allah.
Down 30 playing the spurs bench. Nice plays but he isnt the second coming, let be honest.
U do realize he is also a bench player right? Unless he was supposed to stop wemby from dropped 40
I very much know bronny is a bench player. Nothing here is a notable highlight was my point
Itâs time to start talking about the end of Bronnyâs career. That two year deal is almost up. Whatâs his legacy? Does he deserve a statue? Does Bronny deserve the blame for the lakers struggles?
I know youâre a hater, but itâs unbelievable that you couldnât be bothered to do the slightest bit of research.
Bronny is on a 4 year 7.9 million dollar contract. He at minimum has another year of his career, but more than likely he will be in the league for longer.
His contract next season isnât fully guaranteed and the 4th year is a team option. If LeBron leaves the Lakers itâs a reasonable question if Bronnyâs career is done (outside of maybe joining LeBron in Cleveland)
Damn I fucked up the contract length in the midst of my hating
It’s a 4 year contract
