[Highlight] Wemby scoring 17 straight points for the Spurs
Holy fuck? He’s got 23. Is he going for Klays record??
No we just subbed Vando in 😤 he’s finishing with 23
Edit: Finishing with 25
25 in 7 minutes
Looks like he’s going for Wilt’s record also
He’s going for wilts record too
We’ll see lol I won’t believe someone can ride a hot streak like that until I see it happen again
Gahhh I feel like this was as close I’ve seen in a while. Needed 12+ more points in 4 mins or so. Possible but yeah unlikely. Still a beastly quarter.
I thought this was a slaughter until I looked at the Lakers IR report lol
Yeah, perfect storm here lol.
That first clip was a carry and travel. Wish they would call this stuff
This is only 10 points
“Sometimes, 10 points is not 10 points”
I’ll explain later
I’ll never get over this statement. Are we still waiting on the explanation? When will then be now?
And the video ends with the Spurs only having 14. 🤷♂️
Looking like the cheesy 2K MyPlayer we all made who has maxed stats + physical traits
Gonna use this 1 game sample size as reasoning for my continuous 70 point triple doubles as a 6’3 point guard
It is so insane to see a guy that big dribbling and shooting that well.
Gather step needs to be banned if you can take 10ft long steps wtf
That was not even a gather step, he just took 3 steps. There was no not gathered yet bulshit. He just grab the ball and took 3 steps.
When the tallest guy in the league takes three giant steps, you have to wonder where the refs’ heads are. It’s not like trying to watch a James Worthy first step, which was damn near impossible.
Confidently wrong. He absolutely only took 2 steps after the gather
The right foot step is the gather, unless you think he deserves two gather steps?
The gather is when he puts two hands on the ball. That’s when they say he picked up his dribble and then the 2 steps are counted after that.
If you slow down the video, it looks like his left foot goes down as he puts two hands on the ball, then takes 2 steps after that.
I don’t like it, but that’s how the game is called nowadays.
Something I’d like to see is more attention given to when players are cradling the ball (more like #2 in the rules below) just before they put the other hand on it. That’s where my biggest issue is. Often with stuff like this I feel like the players gather before they put it in two hands. The rules say that the dribble ends/gather occurs when the player does any of these
This particular move is really close. I do think it’s a travel, but I wouldn’t blame a ref for missing the call or anything. I took a screenshot where I believe he’s gathered the ball and his right foot is still touching the floor. https://imgur.com/QRWneB2
Very informative, and great analysis. Thank you.
Yeah, I don’t disagree. But we’re analyzing this in slo-mo. As a ref, trying to call this in real time can be extremely difficult. They either need to be more specific in the rules or give benefit of the doubt to the eye test.
If it looks like a travel, it’s a travel. But I’m also not exactly a fan of more whistles. I’d rather them start with cleaning up more obvious calls than the less obvious ones.
This piss me off. Guy is a freak and you let him hop around like gigantic bunny?? wtf
Right like he doesn’t need a generational whistle too
Yeah they’ve gotta call that travel. Especially on a player like Wemby. He needs to be held to the rules more tightly so someone can have a fair chance lol
Not even a gather step. That was a straight travel.
He has 23 and there’s still 5 minutes in the quarter
He could’ve done this the other day against G-League OKC. But he was so laid back in that game. I don’t know something must’ve angered this man tonight.
Wemby can be unstoppable but even our 3rd stringers play better D than what I’m seeing in this clip
Yeah, OKC backups at least try. These lakers quit before they got out of the locker room.
Seems like the entire team was pretty laid back that game and are trying to take care of business tonight
He likes the bright lights in LA
25 points in 8 minutes. That’s um, well that’s pretty good.
It’s no tmac but it’ll do.
37 in 18 minutes at the half. I guess he’s getting tired.
Negative defensive effort.
Can we still blame Luka?
always.
This is the closest we’ll get to seeing Wilt level dominance. Wemby against a team’s second-unit just isn’t fair.
this guy isnt too bad… maybe kings could trade lavine for wemby?
Him taking 10 steps in the first play though
If that first one isn’t a travel I got no idea what to say
Please start calling travels
Where’s the other 7
make dat 25
[deleted]
If you count his first step as a gather step, then no, he just has an insane stride. I don’t think it’s really a gather step though,
Holy obvious travel on that first one. Ridiculous league
Can’t say it yet because he doesn’t have the resume but this is obviously the best player in the league
He can have these stretches where he looks like the best player in the world. But to reach that he needs to do it more often and more consistently.
Relax it’s the Lakers
Any of the top 10 players in the league could have 25 against the lineup we’re running
Bronny in the game 🏳️🏳️🏳️
Wemby scoring 17 straight points for the Spurs
Doesn’t even show all 17 points in the clip….
Btw the first score was a travel he took three steps before laying it up - I hate how this is not called in the NBA
1st bucket was a travel lol
bro saw luka lebron and reaves sit out and thought “i guess it’s my job now to entertain this LA crowd”
lol against the garbage time lakers
1 2 3 steps. Garbo.
Travel…
Was that 4 steps at the beginning holy moly lol. Even Olynyk on the bench was like wtf
Dude what
Surely be breaks Wilt’s record, but we’d have to make the game somewhat competitive
I wouldn’t mind a Wemby 100 point performance, especially if it’s against the lakers
Are the Lakers tanking like the Jazz or Lakers defense is bad?
Half the team is out with injuries
Half their team is out and their defense is bad
Username checks out
This is some Neo discovering his powers shit.
He’s literally a 7’5 Giannis/curry hybrid 😭
It’s like that one varsity dude that played with the freshmen because they needed one more.
Trade Luka and lebron for wemby
17 straight like it’s nothing 😭
At this point it’s not even a “hot streak,” it’s just him deciding the game’s over. The league really has to deal with this for years and I love it.
Select 65 more words to run Humanizer.
7’4 guy pushing tempo is fucking crazy. He smells blood and is going for the kill.
Insane, no idea if he’ll stay healthy his whole career but damn it’s crazy to see right now
4 dribbles from one end to another is outrageous
And your gonna tell me he isn’t it……yeah okay
The next Goat
All Im saying is Wemby schmemby, pick someone your own size :(
It doesn’t look real
Wemby is amazing. But holy fuck HOW is that not a travel in the first clip lol
Traveling being acceptable has made this league unwatchable
Game Genie cheatcode
kinda selfish tbh. this is not the classy Spurs culture way
Tim Duncan would never hog the ball this many possessions in a row without getting his teammates some touches
Bro he’s literally twice as big as all of them it’s objectively the best move for him to be ball hogging
nah this is Kobe ballhog type basketball that doesn’t win
You are a buffoon
Kobe won 5 rings lol
Lol wtf?
Bro this is the most “I need therapy” comment + username I have seen on this sub in a MINUTE damn
solid b8 m8
All 52 games and Wemby was a pure team player. That one time he’s ball hogging coz he’s so fucking hot that he scores 25 points on 8⁄9 shooting in under 8 mins..
…IS PERFECTLY FINE
