Russ is not building first ballot resume anymore - that shit has been finished like 10 years ago. He was possible hall of famer even before his MVP season - but by the end of 2017 season he was first ballot. Only way he is not first ballot is if Harden, KD and Steph all retire same year he retires (which is very unlikely) - but even then I give hall of fame a good chance to induct OKC trio all at the same time.

Nobody said that he isnt talented. Like you said even being in NBA for 18 season is a pretty high bar - if he keeps current stats he needs ~3 seasons to clear 30k. That is 21 seasons of productive basketball - so far only LeBron really did that (Kareem probably could have too with shorter college career but that is really it when you look at the whole NBA history). Saying someone isnt good enough to clear a bar only LeBron set is not really a slight on a player.
