For sure. I think people really overlook his playmaking. He’s legit been an excellent playmaker this year but nobody on his team should hit a damn jumper to save their lives. But he’s always collapsing the defence, making well timed accurate passes on his drives, and takes over in the 4th whenever its needed, and its been needed a lot this year

Especially his passing. I’ve seen multiple games where he has been hot the whole first half then in the third he tries to get his team mates more involved and does a great job collapsing the d, but he’d make a kick out and nobody could hit a three to save their lives. But the passes were excellent.Then he has to take over again in the 4th otherwise the Cavs would be completely out of hope of winning the game otherwise. Mobley’s scoring according to a stat I heard on thinking basketball was he shoots like 77% at the rim with Mitchell on the floor and it drops like more than 10% when he’s not, showing Mitchell is good at hitting his rolling big man (all those years with Rudy I guess). He also makes it all so athletically pleasing with his float dribbles and jump passes. Aesthetically pleasing game in general. Super solid base on his jumper, its pretty, and his high pick up/step through thing is a thing of beauty. Also some gorgeous creative finishes at the basket.

I’m hoping with Harden on the team, aside from Harden being someone who can take over games in a way Garland couldn’t, that they run some more sets to get Mitchell easier looks, catch and shoots or attacking off the catch with a head of steam

That last play was stupid. He just dribbled into a defender 30 feet from the basket and got a foul. I had no rooting interest but did not enjoy that ending to what was otherwise a fun game.
