man where were you people when we were banging the “Derrick White should be an All-Star” drum the last couple years

People are going to yell at you but it’s actually NUTS that Derrick is that much better in on/off when they have to play 90% of their minutes together.

I also have said this in like every thread but Jaylen has fallen off a cliff in the last month plus. It’s fallen under the radar because we played such a soft schedule but he’s at like 53% true shooting in his last 20 games.

He’s outplayed his expectations but the MVP talk is so out of line

You’re probably right, except it doesn’t explain 1) this is a pattern for JBs entire career 2) it isn’t reflected in Tatum’s numbers

This stat should alert Celtics fans that their eye test is missing SOMETHING.

I think the on/off stats are missing something, but I think the eye test is too.

So what you’re telling me is the Celtics should trade that bum to some bottom feeder team like the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for a real difference maker in Miles Bridges

He’s a great scorer but he can be a bit of a ball stopper and shot checker at times which hurts the teams offense efficiency. People compare him to tatums 30 ppg season in ‘23 but Tatums game involved the teammates more and was more efficient

You can be the best player on the team but not necessary the most important player on the team.

The result when JB is off the court is not that important when considering Jaylen Brown in context of Celtics big picture objectives, because no matter the level of playoff ball, first round, conf finals, NBA Finals, you are winning the minutes that Brown is on the floor, and that’s all that matters at his level, which is level of a Finals MVP

Maybe because J Brown tends to play with the starting unit more often…

And people thought it was crazy to pick Derrick White over Jaylen Brown for Team USA… Derrick White has literally been more impactful than Brown for the past four seasons. All the advanced stats and impact metrics bear this out.

Who gives a fuck. I hate the celtics( in a friendly competition way) but they are recent champs and they have the highest win% in the last 10 years. Thats all that matter…winning

Jaylen’s best qualities come during the playoffs where he is a great tough shot maker and great man defender.

When White sits, thy try to run the ball through Brown and it just doesn’t work since he kind of turns into a blackhole. His off-ball defense is also really rough.

Jaylen absolutely is an impactful two-way player that any team would be lucky to have, but he needs to be surrounded by guys who do all the little things so he can go to work. When White is off the floor, a lot of those little things dry up

gotta adjust the minutes for when the rest are still playing opposing starters. Could it be they are just dominating other team’s benches ?

I heard a bunch of Anfernee Simons applause and decided to check his advanced stats, turns out he’s almost the exact player who he was when he is at Portland with slightly higher efficiency but lower volume..I don’t get all of sudden people treat him as an asset..

This of course has nothing to do with Jaylen Brown, but then again Jaylen Brown probably won’t get as much recognition if he is not on Celtics..maybe Stevens has some AI campaign to pump their player’s value online.
