[Highlight] Yang Hansen drops it off between the legs to Blake Wesley, and Blake goes back to Yang for the bucket
Yang slangin’ that thang!
Barf on that thang, yall
Shut up you bird
Well guess what, you’re Larry bird
*thong, if you want to rhyme
Yang elongin’ that dong
Yang slongin’ that thong..?
tbh both yang and yong sound just as far to the original chinese lol
Had some rough minutes this garbage time. His highlights are always fun though!
Human victory Tsingdao beer
I tuned into this game right in time to catch this play, and thought “hey, alright! Maybe Yang actually has some juice to his game!”
The next few minutes really disabused me of that notion.
he’s years away
Best case… sure?
Definitely two years away from a rookie extension decision, at the least.
If he truly wasn’t ready, it seems like the Blazers could have: A) stashed him in China, B) committed to playing him more in the G league instead of racking up DNPs and wincingly bad shooting/turnover numbers in 3 minute NBA stints, or C) just drafted him the 2nd round and drafted Coward or Queen at 11 instead.
This has been beaten to death on the Blazers sub. There’s some smoke that other teams were looking at him 15-25 and that he wouldn’t have fallen into the 2nd. Presumably the Blazers had some intel indicating where he might go. Beyond that, they did get an extra first (from Orlando?) for dropping down. All of which is to say the Yang pick could be a huge disaster and they can still backdoor their way to winning the trade.
He’s a paperweight this season, but the decision really can’t be judged until we have more info, like maybe 2-3 years from now.
I mean, I’m sure there’s some smoke and all. There’s always “smoke” around stuff like this because people want to save their jobs.
Maybe the Blazers couldn’t have gotten Yang in the 2nd round, but if they’d drafted, say, Queen or Coward at 11, and then some other team swooped in to draft Yang after them, I can’t imagine most of Blazers fandom would be all that bummed out about it and talking about Yang right now.
Judging him in 2-3 years is all very well and good, but he’ll be eligible for a rookie extension in like 28ish months, and there’s not a ton of track record for FRPs who shoot under 30% from the field and play defense like… uh… that… panning out.
Maybe he’ll turn it around. There’s definitely some spicy passing chops there….There’s also a lack of so, so, much other basic big man shit that you could find in an average undrafted 10 day big man.
RemindMe! 28 months “is Yang Hansen still in the league?”
He has played in the g league and 20 of our final 31 games are against sub 500 teams. He’s gonna get blowout minutes
Wesley has a spot on my squad whenever he wants
Fast Break Blake
Shake n Blake
One of the few bright spots of those rough Spurs squads. He was one of our only players capable of defending anything for a minute. I’ll always root for him.
#YOUNG HANDSOME
Hansen Jokic out here
Wesley’s full-shoulder fist pump for Yang was wholesome af 🥲
My favorite part of the highlight. This team seems to genuinely care about each other in a way I haven’t seen in a long time
Jokic been real quiet since this happened.
Honestly though, how is the disgusting scratch Adams gave him still not healed yet?
Pretty sure it was Eason. Human bites and scratches are as dangerous as an animal’s. He will scar.
A little Jokic-esque?
That was absolutely beautiful. Might be the best non-Yao Ming play by a Chinese national in the NBA ever
Theyre stylin on these poor souls
Yang gans
Man, you gotta dunk that!
i see oso ighodaro do the between the legs a lot. is this just a new play teams are doing? cuz i love this lol
Always rooting for Blake!
Man he’s so fucking soft his made layups look weak af.
Blazers fans, y’all’s sub seems to still go crazy for this kid, but every time I see him play, he seems just like a lost cause. Someone tell me honestly, what in the hell do you see in a player with 29% FG and 15% 3P who sucks at rebounding averaging almost 6 turnovers per 48?
He makes some incredibly beautiful offensive plays like this, but is very raw still, and needs a lot more time. I definitely see what he has all the tools to become, just needs to be able to put it together.
Be frl tho this was an extremely basic play 😭
He barely plays and the short run of garbage time minutes usually consist of the team feeding him the ball cause the crowd loves it. I don’t think any of us really give a shit what his shooting percentage is right now cause it’s all just garbage time short stints when he has sat cold for two hours.
He is clearly not ready yet. But the rumor is that his workouts were much better than people anticipated so we had to draft him when we did otherwise a couple of other teams were looking to snag him late first round.
I think we drafted him for his potential and not for immediate impact. The way he sees the court is pretty fun to watch. He can throw some absolute dimes. If he can gain some speed, endurance, and strength to pair with that vision he could be a solid player.
Forward looking I personally feel some hope after seeing Clingan’s transition from rookie year to now. Literally just one NBA off-season has done Clingan wonders. Hansen may take some time, but the next couple of years could see us potentially polish a gem of a player.
He’s terrible so far but we root for lost causes the hardest. Josh Mcroberts, Thomas Robinson, Jeff Pendergraph, Rayan Rupert. Just to name a few Blazer legends. He’s trying hard and he’s got confidence but ya it seems obvious so far he’s lost out there.
