Basketball has a very deep culture of acting like a bitch (pun intended) to refs over every little thing, and that standard is set by the stars who get away with it several times a game. Soccer is about as bad.

You see guy with their hands up in full bitch mode literally as they’re getting contacted. It’s actually impressive.

The difference is in rugby the respect is mutual.

Referees in Rugby explain clearly the decision, the acknowledge factors and take that into consideration and the players respond accordingly (that and coupled with the fact the refs have to be on the ball else alot of players can get seriously injured)

The NBA refs aren’t consistent, even with video review assistance they still can’t get the decision right. They don’t explain their decision they just use the threat of technicals or ejection.

It also wasn’t a foul. Defender went straight up and Sengun just dropped the ball for some reason.

This was 2 days ago. If they were going to do it, they would have already. I think the reason is that there probably have been tons of players cursing at refs, some get ignored, some get techs, some get thrown out. But it would look bad if he got fined and then was able to pull up a reel of other guys that have cursed at refs and haven’t been fined.

FYI, I am in favor of the ejection and a suspension.

He called her a bitch 3 times in that segment. Two of them came after he was ejected after the first one. That’s got to be a suspension or a fine or something. You can’t let a player continually degrade a referee like that without consequences beyond being ejected from the game.

As a Turk, I can clearly say that calling a woman “bitch” in front of a crowd and cameras is much worse than calling a man “bitch”.

Also, most of the time, Turks think “bitch” and “whore” mean the same thing. He probably knows how the two words are used differently in the US but it is also possible that he meant “whore”.
