Because it’s a trivia fact no one ever cared for until someone approached it. Before Shai was approaching wilt’s record, how many people knew that that was the record beforehand? It’s not like Wilts 100 point game which is ubiquitous knowledge amongst any casual NBA fan. Can you off the top of your head tell me who has had the most consecutive 25 point games or the most consecutive 15 point games? Probably not, or at least not until someone started to approach it and ESPN’s stat team dug up the record making it more known, hence why it’s an ESPN stat.

It was fucking awesome, last year I watched like 2 or 3 games a week whenever I could. One of the “seats” you can switch to is literally at the scores table and there are no commercial breaks so you can hear the coaches, refs, etc the whole time.

Unfortunately this season there has not been VR games, it looks like that is because Apple is actually going to take over broadcasting those games in VR next season.

So last season all you had to have is a Meta VR headset and usually 1 or 2 games are free to watch every week.

You just go to the app and go into the game. In the game there are three VR cameras, one at the scorer’s table and use right on the baseline beneath each of the baskets. Then you are basically at the game in VR. great way to watch the games but also to get a feel for the arenas and stuff since there are no commercial breaks so during breaks and half-time you just “stay in your seat” and look around.

Within the virtual space you can also add 2D windows. So like for example I like to put the box score at my feet so if I want to se the box score I just glance down and there is a screen floating there with the box score and I put the broadcast screen above me (it shows the national 2D broadcast as if it is a huge screen floating above you) so I can just look up to watch the replays. You can also put other games in 2D screens in the space with other games on so like if you look to your left it’s showing another game on a screen.

Can’t say enough good things about it. It’s the future IMO

AR’s “breakout” is 1 year overdue. Really, if he had this level of ball-handling usage and leadership responsibility last year, he would have already been a 26/6/6 All-Star player.

JJ 100% did the right thing before this season started by publicly declaring that the Lakers are AR’s team just as much as Luka’s and LeBron’s + that he would be an All-Star. That vote of confidence took the lid off his game. No more deferring to others. Now, he is taking it right at opponents every night.
