It is definitely a better plan, Giannis is obviously unreal, but giving up multiple starters, multiple picks and then not filling the point guard spot would have been tough. And then suddenly the risk-return of this whole teambuilding is completely screwed and dependent on Giannis’ health and longevity

Not to be obtuse but why is he the kind of guard you need next to ANT? Wouldn’t a more point be better than another shooting guard prone to turnovers?

Just seems like the biggest issue for the wolves for multiple seasons now has been ball handling/creation particularly in the playoffs. This doesn’t really directly address that.

Ayo is pretty low turnover guard. He’s at like 2.5AST/TO and has a 10% Turnover % which is very low for a guard. He’s pretty solid.

Also we really dont have the assets to go get a playoff proven creator, so we will have to rely on Ayo surprising us.
