Draymond Green on possibility that was his last game with the Warriors: “If it ends, what a f****** run it has been.” He said he would not be “upset” if they trade him “if that’s what’s best for this organization.”
Imagine he ends up staying and no trades are made
Welcome to the reality.
Ooop there goes gravity
Mom’s spaghetti
He’s nervous but on the surface he looks calm and ready
to drop kick balls, but he keeps on forgetting
Who he punched now, the whole crowd goes so loud,
He opens his mouth, but the donkey brays won’t come out,
He’s choking (Rudy), how? Everybody’s LeJoking now
The clocks run out, times up, over BLAOW!!!
yall are bots
And we will rise up against you
Be boo bee bop
so call me rap bot
but for me to rap like a computer must be in my genes/jeans
Yea this front office ain’t doin shit lmao
I mean saying this after going for the swing last deadline with Jimmy and having a legit chance at the WCF had Steph not gotten injured is crazy lol
The 29 other GMs could each publish a thousand pages worth of proof that MDJ tried negotiating with them, and the Warriors subreddit would still assume he simply chose not to try hard enough lmao
The heat subreddit is the same, constant crying about how Riley is washed and they just want to “run it back”. And the lakers sub is constantly crying that pelinka sucks ass and can’t make a trade to save his life.
Almost like the NBA subs are just filled with dramatic whiney people that love to armchair GM and act like they are 100x smarter than NBA executives
Listen logically I know you’re right but I just can’t let myself hope lmao
I don’t think the other teams in the league have any interest in helping you guys be competitive again.
Either way we all know there’s no big deal going down for the warriors
I don’t think people realize that the most likely outcome is Giannis not getting traded til the offseason
I would prefer that outcome, lol.
That’s likely what ends up happening
The Giannis Trade Tease is a yearly occurrence
That is only fair. Steph and Kerr should have to put up with him being a detrimental more than a positive player until retirement for hand waving his bullshit when they were winning.
Not sure there’s ever been a team that’s made this much noise around a trade deadline and nothing happens…if that’s how it ends up goin down…
Fire_Demon-215 has put it into the universe and now it shall happen just as he prophesied
That’s probably what he thinks is gonna happen
It isn’t up to the Warriors at all at this point. We have clearly offered Draymond as an option for the trade for Giannis, at this point it is all about whether the Bucks choose to accept that offer.
Brother’s braying all night long if that happens
Thats a nasty trade. Giannis isn’t going anywhere
I think the most likely scenario is that he isnt traded. It’s more likely Jimmy is traded imo. The media just ran wild with the idea that draymond could be traded.
draymond being surprisingly reasonable
Post-fight clarity
Post nut(kick) clarity
Better than Pre-nut delusion. Play the market responsibly boys
lmao
he’s been reasonable. the other day there was that post that got thousands of upvotes where he was saying he wouldn’t lose sleep and everyone was bashing him
but whoever posted it cut out the middle of the quote. where he says “But if i’m traded, it’s business” to make him look bad, and it worked
Yeah, I think people equate his idiotic behavior with thinking he’s an idiot. He’s got plenty of interviews and clips where he’s spoken well of the game, players, and all kinds of other things within his career. The guy, for all his flaws, hasn’t made it to this point by being dumb about basketball or unaware about the front office’s plans.
I’m going to be honest while I do think that Draymond is over villainized in this sub and in NBA fandom as a whole, him actually being smart makes some of the things he says and does even more infuriating
I don’t think he’s villainized too much myself. From an X’s and O’s perspective, he might be one of my favorite players. However, he has probably been the dirtiest player of his generation too. Stomping on Sabonis, choking Gobert, punching Poole, treatment of refs (including recently using fake racism accusations to justify it), and the lack of sufficient punishment for any of his actions makes it hard to say anyone hates him too much.
The arm lock double pull down foul still gets me every time I see it
You didn’t even put the most egregious dirty thing he’s done, which is his “natural shooting motion”.
I wish he wasn’t such a POS on the floor.
I don’t he’s hilarious
I think when your leading example of him being dirty is somebody grabbing his leg from the floor that aspect might be overblown too
OP also added “draymond appears nervous” to the title lol what a clown
People ate that nonsense right up. The editorialized headlines here have to stop
Mods need to do a better job of removing those posts, I see a ton of posts with misleading quotes like that and it makes this sub a joke
He doesn’t need that to look bad
cuz he knows thers no way in hell the bucks take the warriors deal
Exactly. He also knows that MDJ Lacob ain’t doing shit until 2027
Won a few rings made millions what is there to be unreasonable about
Everywhere he goes people say to him, “Draymond Green, you are a reasonable fucking guy.”
This is pretty consistent for Draymond. A few years ago, he said if KD wanted to stay and if KD wanted Draymond out, then obviously GS would/should get rid of Draymond. But that wasn’t the case since KD wanted out either way.
It’s only because if he’s traded, he’ll have the chance to go back at GSW in the summer by declining his PO. If he was being sent to Utah or Milwaukee with 4 years left on his contract, there’s no way he’d be this reasonable.
I still think the GM probably shouldn’t risk telling him in person he’s been traded. Phone call would be safer
Hes generally pretty reasonable when not in game, besides some hating here and there
After you collect that many rings with an organization and leave your name in history books like they did, you make peace with however things go… You rose to the top of the top, seen heights unprecedented.
He knows he’s close to retirement anyway and wants a Charles Barkley job, he can’t help his rage on the court but off the court he’s very collected on what he says
not really that surprising tbh i feel like every player bar like lebron probably knows that they do not control their fate and can be moved if the right situation comes up.
I know his game has dropped off a ton this year and it’s easier for this sub to bash on him now but will truly miss him when he’s gone.
Mentioned it earlier today but that 2019 WCF series against the blazers where he averaged 16/11/8 and 2.3 blocks was peak dray dominating on both ends
He owns the blazers. 2016 2nd round w/o steph avg 23/7/7 😭
Can’t forget as well he had the game of his life in Game 7 of 2016 and was doing everything to try and win that game
he has the biggest box score in finals game 7 history, splash bros laid an egg and cost Dray his FMVP
32/15/9 with 2 steals, leading both teams in points and rebounds, tied for steals, and only LeBron got more assists
If he brought that game home himself….. sheesh. Dude already has an all time legacy but that was some next level heroics for a non-scorer.
When Dray goes off he goes off man i remember that random ass 30+ point game he had vs Atlanta one time 😂
It was actually 22/11/7 with 5 stocks per game. Basically prime KG
Dray really hates the blazers lol. That 2017 series was a defensive masterclass.
They just had such glaring holes wallpapered over by Dame’s (and CJ’s) scoring. Dray was a smart player and bullied them for what they were shit at.
Dude was averaging 6 stocks per game that series lol
I’ll never forget him destroying Portland lmao. That Dame block will always live in my mind.
I mean having KD come to the warriors really limited his potential as a guy who can easily drop like 15 points shooting open 3s at the top of the 3 whilst also being able to pass the ball.
He just kinda forgot how to shoot and score buckets apparently because he didn’t ever need to anymore.
Also hit the game clinching 3 to close out the sweep in 2019 WCF
I don’t know why but this vid of his makes me sort of sad.
idc what you nerds say I’ll always be a fan of Draymond Green lol
HOF player but hes so easy to dislike
All time “would absolutely hate him if he weren’t on my team” guy
And I might see what that’s like soon
Maybe but he’s old now and I doubt he’d play as dirty/well against the Warriors as he did in his prime
He’s gonna natural shooting motion Steph’s nuts isn’t he
It would be crazy to watch him suplex Curry but I doubt it’ll happen
Lol. He’d never. He’d suplex his own teammate fighting Steph first before he touches Steph.
the entire nation had the pleasure we’ve had of rooting for Steph in the olympics.
Now it’s our turn to have to root against Green when he does his antics against us.
cause yall were on the other end of Draymond putting belt to ass on Harden
No cause he punched his teammate and has a 10 minute reel of him playing dirty and injuring opposing players. When he wasn’t doing that he was legitimately an all time defender
Also I’m pretty sure Harden has a winning record against the Warriors somehow lol (including the playoffs)
Harden does technically have a winning record against the Warriors(36-35) but that’s carried by pre-Draymond years. He’s 28-33 after Draymond was drafted and 23-31 after Draymond became a starter. So I don’t think that can really be used for arguing against Draymond putting belt to ass on Harden
so people need to get checked. dont put hands on someone and then turn your back lol. Dillon did that in Houston too but they needed that DAWG
Warriors have beaten Harden in playoffs 4 times lol
Dray even beat Harden in playoffs when Steph was injured. pre-KD too
including the playoffs? We beat Harden 4 times in 5 years.
Sure, in the regular season, Harden balls out; but if that’s what you mean as “winning record” then it ain’t really much if we always bounced him in the postseason.
u/theiwc0303 checked and Harden is 36-35 against the Warriors all time
And he averaged 30/6/6 against them in the playoffs so even though he unfortunately never won it was (almost) never his fault
And Harden had fuckin PJ Tucker and Trevor Ariza. The fact that he even made shit competitive against Steph, KD, Klay, Dray, Iggy, etc is insane.
People don’t realize how boring this would be without good villains and he’s an all time great
He’s hot head drama Queen and a dirty player
That being said I love his game and passion. He has been the Heart and attitude of a dynasty and his defense, playmaking a screens were absolutely vital to Steph and the warriors franchise
He does the dirty work in a way that doesn’t get enough love. Yes he will average 7/7/7 but he has FAR more impact on a game and winning than a lot of guys who average 25ppg
I don’t care what this nerd says. Dudes a piece of shit lol
Fan of the basketball player, not the person.
same. the more people hate him, the more I like him
I’ve probably never hated a basketball player more in my life, but you can’t deny that he was incredibly instrumental to that dynasty. And so easy to dislike, like a movie villain. It’ll be weird to see him in a different jersey
I get why people dont like him, he can be a massive dick, lots of dirty/fighting plays and just being annoying as fuck, but damn is he good. Steph was obviously the main part of their success, but draymond made steph even better.
Are there any other teams that Draymond would be a good fit? He seems to rely on Curry for his game to translate and when Curry was out his impact fell off a cliff. And there’s no one else that plays like Curry.
He’d actually probably be decent paired with Luka.
This dude is gonna end up on the Lakers some how and fulfill his fantasy of playing with LeBron
Be funny if he and kuminga went for Bron
Old man steph and bron going to a finals 10 years after their first showdown would be insane TV.
Them playing against Jokic in the playoffs would be hilarious to me. That or playing the Lakers with Draymond and Luka on them.
I feel like he might be on his best behavior with his daddy LeBron
Ending my career with the King inside of me.
isn‘t lebron a super soldier draymond at this point
wouldn‘t it be kinda redundant?
but on a good salary for sure
Draymond is a much better defender
No he wouldn’t? I’m a big Dray guy but besides covering up for Luka defensively, he’s an awful fit offensively for Luka and the Lakers. Dray is not a a rim runner, he’s best used as a trigger man but why would you take the ball out of Luka or Brons hands? He’s not a floor spacer and the Lakers could use more shooting.
At this point of his career, he’s prob best served as a beef stew replacement on the Pistons. He’s a decent outlet decision maker still in the pnr with an elite big that can really space or can’t be left alone in the dunker spot. Cavs, 76ers, Spurs, Suns maybe even Knicks imo can probably use the defensive upgrade, spot start and/or have a big(s) that allow Dray to facilitate for the kick out or lob.
Yeah I can’t believe that guy got upvotes.
He’s an awful fit for the Lakers with LeBron there, but after Bron is gone he’s a great fit with Luka. One of the most important jobs next to Luka is passing out of the short roll which Draymond excelled at with Steph.
He won’t have the ball in his hands as much as he did in Golden State, but he would work. Austin Reaves is also very capable of playing a more movement style and working off of DHOs with Draymond.
Lakers also run the off ball screen into dive action A TON with guys like Jake LaRavia. Would be excellent with Draymond there.
And Of Course, he’s a true defensive anchor and COMMUNICATOR that would really help Luka.
He wouldn’t at all. He’s the facilitator in the Warriors offense, and Luka is the most ball dominant player in the league.
There are so many ways that Steph and the Warriors system help mask Draymond’s lack of offense. He would look so much worse in a traditional spread PnR offense at this stage of his career.
The shift in Draymond’s career happened when he was no longer effective at the 5, when you play him at the 4, it creates more problems for your team than for the other team. Just look at the Warriors approach these last 2 seasons in terms of roster construction, they’re exclusively playing stretch 5s because that’s the only way to make it work with Dray.
The Warriors offense doesn’t have one main facilitator (for multiple years now). It’s been Jimmy/Dray/Steph/Podz.
The days of running everything through Draymond are long gone.
Draymond being relegated to catch and shoot?
Yeah lol it would not be a good fit at all. I think he would fit in really well with the Spurs or a similar system
He would be screaming in Luka’s face half the game because of shit defense.
He’d be a good fit on the lakers
No, he wouldn’t lol
Another non-shooter who isn’t a rim runner?
That buyout would be disgusting. Can they sign buyouts?
I may want in on this lol
As a starter? I don’t know. As an enforcer and switchable stopper off the bench, Dray would be a good piece for any contender lacking force. He is still a very good defender, if not DPOY caliber this season, and is also a plus playmaker.
no lie i think he’d be great for the knicks
I could see that with him next to KAT.
Lakers Sixers Pistons Cavs Suns Rockets could all use him.
How would the lakers use him?
Pistons.
I would nut
Obviously he’d fit culture wise but they need shooters and he also needs shooters to play around. The spacing with Duren would be pretty bad
I don’t see the fit next to Duren so it would need to be solely off the bench with Stewart.
So I haven’t watched him much this year but tbh the Knicks
His playmaking would help Brunson and Mikal so much and give KAT some help on defense.
Also this team is full of nice young gentlemen. We need people who are tough and in your face on the team
I wouldn’t mind him
Bro is 35, time for him to coast
He just can’t have any scoring responsibility. In under 30 mins a game with shooters around him he can still be great. He’s just not starter quality when he has to play full minutes and his scoring is bad, he still has his fantastic bbiq. OKC, Boston, a few others would be good fits.
I actually think he’d fit really well in somewhere like Charlotte.
Raps could use him similarly because Darko likes to use the bigs as a hub. And he’d help anchor our defense.
Lmao imagine a Shead/Walter/BI/Scottie/Draymond lineup. Top 5 defensive lineup bottom 5 offensively.
I wonder how Steph will fair without him
He’s a defensive savant and a good playmaker. I think it would take a little while to adjust to a new system after almost exclusively playing under Kerr (the big adjustment being turnover reduction), but I think he would adapt. For teams, I like the idea of New York or Cleveland. Cleveland could use an injection of intensity, but the fit is questionable. Orlando would be interesting for his playmaking, but they have multiple players his size who can’t shoot already. Other playoff bound teams: maybe the Clippers or Suns? But I’m not sure. Then there’s the Heat, who I feel like will maximize any player even though he definitely doesn’t fit well on that roster
don’t worry Draymond, Warriors aren’t getting Giannis.
All of this nonsense, and Giannis is going to stay with the Bucks. Not the Bulls, not the Warriors, not the Wolves, not the Knicks, not the Grizzlies. He’ll be a Buck, and we’ll do this song and dance again after the season ends.
It’ll be like the Khawi summer. Every team gonna wine and dine him, he’ll drag it out. Then finally sign with a team late and the other teams barely get anything in the market since Giannis waited so long.
You’re confused. He won’t be a free agent this summer. He’ll be traded and sign an extension
So possibly another year of this if both the team and Giannis get cold feet?!?
It’s extremely unlikely Giannis will hit free agency in 2027. If he chooses to stay with the Bucks even after all this, then he would sign an extension with them this summer, but like everyone else is saying it’s almost a guarantee that he’ll get moved sometime in the offseason.
Yep. Been saying this for years
so he’s going to Miami got it
He’s going to Dallas, trust
We’ll be stuck with this roster man. Im sick
You act like the Warriors are a bottom tier team when they’re still possibly a play in team. Yeah this seasons a loss, but you’d be stupid to mortgage next season too on some panic move that doesn’t move the needle.
The only thing sadder than the post-Curry dark ages, is starting the dark ages while Curry can still play because you panic traded for a guy who ended up not moving the needle.
I’ll remember the good things.
Sure there’s been A LOT of head scratching moments and “dude what the hell?” moments, but he was a pivotal part of a dynasty, and that’s what I’ll remember most should he get traded.
Cant forget the bad things tho. How many techs cost us games, incessant yelling at refs, bitching to the media.
Warriors legend but sometimes it’s okay for it to end
I mean, if Rodman’s still Bulls legend despite of being even weirder than Green, then yeah, Draymond’ll always a legend.
incessant yelling at refs
I won’t miss that. Like I appreciate what he’s done for the Warriors but he’s made it hard to watch games a lot of times.
I think everyone wants to see Steph get another crack at the championship.
i bet a lot of players would say the same about their team that drafted them. made his dreams come true and made his family generationally wealthy
If this is goodbye, THANK YOU DRAY.
He should punch someone for old times sake
All this fuss just for Draymond to not get moved
Hes getting traded if he does for Giannis lol im sure he gets it. I’m sure Anthony Davis understood he got traded for Luka lol
Well Green is always on his character when going in the court as a role player
would it be possible to trade him to the sun?
Best thing he could have said in this situation
“Aw shit here we go again”
Steve Kerr when he sees Draymond barge into his office with a mean look and a balled up fist
2nd favorite warrior of all time, if he goes ill miss him and always respect who hes been. salute draymond
Draymond had the biggest leash in nba history with the refs. That’s what I will remember him the most. He can damn near punch a ref without getting a technical lmao
A temper tantrum that facilitated an all time Finals collapse followed by an entire legacy of on-court temper tantrums, and then also a podcast for off-court temper tantrums. What a run indeed!
Most classy words to ever leave his mouth.
GOAT defender, a pillar to the dynasty. Look forward to the unveiling of Draymonds statute.
Enjoyed the game.
I see he is in the stage of acceptance now. Nice
It would be even better if it was his last season in the league!
Narrator: “Actually, he is furious.”
Don’t like the dude but bros a complete professional when he’s not stomping down on someone’s chest
There’s a few players in the league no one can or should be upset being traded for Giannis is one of those players.
Dude been fearful of being traded his whole career and he doesn’t address that fear but his actions do. So fearful he had to falcon punch poole
i wish nothing more than for him to be traded to sacramento
Kings have the chance to do the funniest shit ever , it’s kangin time bitches
If he punches Curry he’ll be traded for sure.
Please please let it be his last game for GSW
They should trade him even if they don’t get giannis, it’s time to move on much like klay
How would he react if a Caucasian welcomed him to his new team though
Would be cray to see him get traded.
I doubt they get Giannis, so maybe it’s a different player, such as AD, Sabonis or LaVine if they get desperate.
Awwww :(
Didn’t even play with curry in his last game lol
Grifted his way to a hall of fame career on Steph’s back. What a run indeed…..
The Warriors management hit the dice roll of the gods for one era of players and think the one role player that makes the leap to get them a ring is right around the corner.
He’s gone. There’s no way management gives him a heads up without anything going down.
Especially for Giannis
Why the fuck would the bucks want draymond lmao
No-one wants triple single AKA Curry’s backpack.
What does an old washed up triple single bring back in trade? A couple hot dogs?
Fair enough.
Draymond is second all-time in franchise games played, 4th in rebounds, 2nd in assists, 3rd in steals, 2nd in blocks.
Not me. If I’m 35 and been with the same team for a decade and a half, I’m pulling a Jake Plummer every time.
+/- -27 lol
He’s not getting traded
He isn’t getting traded. Giannis is staying.
That’s surprisingly chill and reasonable of him.
Yeah sure
This guy wants to be beloved so badly. If it wasn’t for Curry, he wouldn’t have gotten a second contract in the league. Plain and simple. He’s just a walking moving screen and hand off machine.
Literally anyone could do it. Zaza Pachulia, Andrew Bogut, Mo Speights, Omari Spellman, Kevin Looney, Anderson Verjao, and old injured Demarcus Cousins the list goes on. Any of them did and could have kept doing it on this team next to Curry. Draymond just sucked up to the right people and got to be a tag-along.
Hope he stays, want him to be a Warrior for life.
A lot of non-Warriors fans misunderstand Draymond. Draymond knows he’s at the end of his career, I don’t think he gives up that $27m next season but I’ll be surprised if he keeps playing in the NBA past that.
