This is a bit revisionist. Mikal was a DPOY finalist the year before getting traded
Mikal was a bit further from a DPOY finalist by the time he got traded to the Knicks. His defense was clearly a step down in his time with the Nets and he was on the Nets for a year and a half before getting traded again to the Knicks. He was DPOY finalist in 2021-2022 and he was traded in the 2024 offseason. There was reason to think the defense would bounce back on a better team with less of an offensive load but his defensive rep had definitely diminished a bit by the time of the Knicks trade. But I do think overall Bridges was still considered a better asset at the time by a bit because of the salary and the assumption that his defense would bounce back.
Desmond Bane was also traded for 4 firsts.

I always thought the Wolves gave up a ton but that is what teams had to give up at the time and it put them in the conference finals in the WEST in back to back years.

Yeah, fans are understating how good/valuable Jaden McDaniels has become. If Milwaukee were to take that offer, as a GSW fan, I’d gladly package JK (and filler if needed) + FRPs for McDaniels so the Bucks get the picks they want and the Warriors get the elite 3&D athletic wing they want JK to be.
This would be a win-win-win trade for all teams.

It’s difficult for me to see them sending out Draymond for Randle ($30.8M) based on salary and roster fit but McDaniels is basically the player archetype (see Trey Murphy rumors) the team has been searching for and wants Kuminga to be.
If GSW doesn’t acquire Giannis, I can see them facilitating this trade because it helps them immensely while keeping their roster relatively intact.
