Which on paper sounds good (assuming Ace improves as expected) but idk how it’ll actually fit together.

They’re both pretty ‘soft’ in terms of grabbing boards but a large part of why they both have fewer rebounds than average is because they’re constantly on the three point line as well.

Ainge found out he could get an borderline all-NBA, DPOY level guy for 3 picks and filler players. Ainge hasn’t reeally ever cared about the whole time line thing, cared way more about just getting good players in the door when you think you can find someone for cheaper than they should be valued at.

Of the 3 firsts, 1 looks like it will be in the mid-high 20s. Another is the only FRP from his own team, and if he can get a good roster for next year that will also be in the high teens or 20s.

This is the exact type of value hunting he has always done.

You’re probably looking at a pick in the early teens in what’s projected to be a pretty weak draft. 

It could be good, but I get why the Jazz feel comfortable moving it.

This is a home run trade for Memphis IMO.

This team was going nowhere and that’s pretty solid return value for JJJ’s contract.

Could be a solid pick but nothing juicy.

16th pick, a pick in the 20s, maybe a good PHX pick and a bunch of shitty players is not a very good return.

Not saying it’s a joke pick but they’re now building from a pretty damn strong place with George/lauri/JJJ, if they add a good defensive guard to put next to George this summer and tighten up the bench rotation they’re gonna be pretty damn good

You never know but I know I’d certainly view a phoenix pick in 31 pretty valuable as a bet when booker/brooks are in their mid 30s and phoenix currently doesn’t have any other high end young talent in the pipeline

As we’ve seen with recent lotteries any team can fall into the top 3 that’s in the lottery.

Really would still be surprised if they are a playoff team in the west next year without significant upgrades.

The number of people who think adding JJJ to the 15-35 Utah Jazz is going to result in a top-12 team next year is wild to me.

If they improve a lot, they could be a play-in team and sneak out of the lottery but I think that’s a pretty optimistic projection personally.
