She was WNBA 1st team in her rookie season TBF. Had a terrible second season due to injuries, so it remains to be seen if her rookie season was a fluke.

Brunson is short but sturdy as f, he uses his strength with his low center of gravity to his advantage.

Not a bust but she got hurt in her sophomore season. I think the fact she wasn’t playing and the league/fans were still dickriding her made her look bad.

She also lead the league in assists. I think it’s fair to say she’s a disappointment considering the expectations when she was drafted, but bust is a bit far.

i don’t know how you could call her a bust. i don’t think anyone who actually watched the WNBA thought she’d be the best player right away - that’s not a realistic expectation for any player entering any league. and i really don’t see her as someone with injury concerns. she was injured this season, but never really had concerns any other time in her career. her healthy rookie season she was first team all-W, led the league in assists, and helped get her team to the playoffs for the first time in years.

she gets the hype in the mainstream media but people who actually watch and cover the W know A’ja is the GOAT, and Phee is right up there in the MVP convo.

Idk who was saying she’d immediately step in and be the best player in the league. She is a top 25 player though, which is pretty good value for a 2nd year player who is also the most valuable asset the league has ever seen (purely from a financial standpoint).

It’s weird how she looks up to him out of all the players. He’s a 1st quarter offensive beast and high volume scorer, but then….that’s it. I don’t find his playmaking great, he turns the ball over too much, gets lazier in the 4th (and gassed), and whines like Draymond at the refs every possession - yells even when he scores a basket. And his defense is weak too.

I feel like she could’ve named so many other well-rounded players. I mean, yes, it’s her own answer but I just don’t see why it’s Luka out of so many other candidates.
