[Highlight] 5’7” Yuki Kawamura, shortest player in Bulls history, wins a jumpball.
Just took a look at the Bulls bench today and they won with that lmao
Did you see the starting lineup? We have 7 players out right now
Yeah off the top of my head I know all of Vuc, White, Jones, Giddey and Smith were out tonight
Chicago are always the team I root for in the east so I do end up catching most games, missed it today though
Yeah. The other 2 have been out forever (Collins and Noa)
Erik Spoelstra should be ashamed of himself
My man is 6’5 & lost a jump ball to someone 5’7
As a Heat fan, I was rooting for Yuki
Isn’t everyone? He’s one of the most entertaining players I’ve seen in years. It’s such a shame that his height makes it impractical for him to get a lot of minutes. He might singlehandedly convince me this sport needs a height limit lmao.
Heights categories just like weight categories in fighting
This is actually an interesting concept. A lot of Asians aren’t tall enough to be competitive in leagues like this.
The Philippines’ basketball league had a height limit on foreign players until recently. They also have a height minimum to enter the draft, which is just 5’6”.
Jakucionis how do you let that happen 😂
He has concrete feet that’s how
I mean did you watch him in conference play when he was at Illinois?
I didn’t know he was back! Glad to see him playing again
It’s the size of the fight in the dog
Man I love Yuki. He is so underrated by every team he plays on
He’s not underrated in the traditional sense. But when teams run lineups where the entire starting 5 is 6’7” and above it doesn’t matter how skilled you are. And today teams do that. The fact he is even on a roster is a testament to how properly rated he is.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy. But if he’s underrated by every team he’s on, he’s just not that good lol. Why would they pass on him and us arm chair scouts thinks he’s amazing and just needs more time lol.
Bro has more hustle than half the bench
Combined
But if he’s underrated by every team he’s on, he’s just not that good lol.
He’s good. But sometimes the reality is just that skill and heart can’t make up for size if it’s that big of a gap
Only short guys that have been successful have been athletic freaks
Is he? He averages 6 points a game. Idk how hes getting playing time in the 4th of a close game.
He averages 6 points a game
Buddy this is the first game he played this year lmao
Just a taste of what we gone give Miami in our annual play in bouts.
We’re the most dominant play-in team in history; don’t play yourself.
Things gonna be different this year.
That’s embarrassing
This perfectly sums up Miami’s season
Calm down, you’re 3 games ahead of us.
Tanking his trade value to stay in south beach can’t blame him
Go Yuki!!! 😤
Mad respect. To know what you have to go through to make it to the pros, and how many times so many people undoubtedly told him it’s not gonna happen because he’s just too small, and there he is. Damn cool.
Incase anyone is wondering, I slowed it down and Jakucionis’s hand barely misses it as the ball was coming down, which then Yuki’s hand tap it as it passes by Jakucionis’s hand
Nate Robinson is 5’9” for anybody wondering like I was.
He killed it in summer league
white men can’t jump
White boys*
For someone who is 5’7” and in the freaking NBA, he must be absolutely insane player skill wise.
Japanese 5’7” is like white man 6’2”. My grandfather fought in WW2 and I remember he said that when they first saw Japanese troops they were almost laughably small but would easily kick anyone’s butt in hand to hand combat no matter how much bigger their opponents were. There’s a certain tenacity there.
The height gap is not that big (although it was bigger in the past). The average height in Japan is 5’7” or in terms of equal percentile would be about 5’10”.
Cut whoever just lost that jump ball
Anyone gonna comment on the weird sound the commentator makes right as Yuki won the tap?

Tall
Screaming like the burnt peanut
Nice toss 👍
That man is made entirely out of dawg, forces a jump ball, wins it, grabs a rebound, drove all the momentum late in the 4th
The locker room is going to make sure Jakucionis never hear the end of this
I see jump balls being won by shorter players all the time, I even saw wemby lose one!
Skill issue tbh
Nate Robinson was shorter and he also played for the Bulls. Fake News.
Bball ref has Robinson listed at 5’9”
That’s valid. Wikipedia has him at 5’6”.
