The weather in Charlotte today reminds me of Alaska

First time watching a Charlotte home game with him this year I was like “Why the hell are they booing?” Then realized they were saying “moooooooose”

He does some of the most ridiculous stuff I’ve ever seen in the paint and then he’ll spend time roaming the perimeter and taking shots like he’s KD for some reason

Wemby plays offense like he thinks he’s good at everything, and his shot selection shows it

And he’s our no.1 option on offense… When his decision making is still this raw there’s going to be peaks and valleys. This was definitely a rough one.

Which is hilarious after he was talking about how other teams “dont play the game the right way”

The biggest obstacle on his GOAT path is the fact he has a brain of a 6’6 chucker

That last 3 he took was a crazy decision.

Mitch puts him in horrible situations. This offense has him trying to create shots from the high post or three. They don’t run any movement offense.

Watching him live today not a single time did he try to impose his will on offense. The only thing he did on that end of the court was basically “be tall” and I dont say thus as a hot take but I was genuinely disappointed watching him play in person and up close.

Granted im glad we won the game but Victor did not impress on offense at all and even defensively he wasnt as exciting as I was expecting him to be. Granted we didnt go straight at him under the basket but we weren’t afraid to attack him either and he really didnt do anything.

In his defense, Moussa was locking him down all night and he was just trying to get something going any time he had anyone else on him

When he isn’t getting an wild whistle, he can’t get shots to go in

Really reminds me of KG, in that I think the best way to use him is the main defensive guy and like the 2nd or 3rd option on offense next to a high-volume guard or forward.

It’s funny considering KD’s advice for him on this exact matter was completely ignored

Even that game trying three at the end was horrible. Early in the shot clock and rushed.

Fair and level headed take. Spurs were the best team we’ve played all season. Solid on both sides of the ball. The 2nd quarter hurt them. I still dont think we would beat them in a 7 game series. But wed take it to 7 i think. They caught us on a hot streak. If our shots weren’t falling wed lose. We kinda skated by this game (offensively) which isn’t a slight, but a credit to Coach Lee. He had a great game plan today and im on the Lee train after admittedly being frustrated w his rotations early on in the season. Now I realized its not his rotations. Our bench just sucks ass. Also Moussa is the most underrated center in the league and ill die on that hill.

He is objectively raw offensively, Caruso said it best, its not a dig on him at all, but I think its gonna take him a little more time to reach some of the top tier guys offensively, assuming he can reach them

Wemby is very good, but his potential is one of the best ever. People use that to overrate his current level.

He was had wemby stuck in a hard place either he Contests every shot that comes to paint or he boxes out they took advantage of whichever descision.

He was boxing out Moussa but the others on the spurs didn’t want to go after the loose balls. He kept Moussa at 10, but the spurs perimeter guys were stuck ball watching and letting the hornet others go after every loose ball. Hornets shot a lot threes and long floaters, longer rebounds, Wemby is busy boxing out to allow his guys to pick up the loose balls but they clearly wanted no part in that.

That’s an overreaction. He played like piss tonight but this isn’t indicative of how he usually plays. When he drops another 30 point game everybody’s opinion is going to seesaw the other way. Granted, all time greats are consistent night in and night out which is an attribute Wemby doesn’t seem to possess right now, but given that he’s not had a full offseason yet to improve (Olympics and his blood clot recovery), I’m still optimistic.

It’s easy to adjust when you’re seeing 3 bodies swarm at him on every possession at the high post and defenses are allowed to play extremely physical compared to other guys. Mitch doesn’t do him any favors with his iso oriented offense from the high post or 3 pt line.

Most of the legendary centers got into the league at 21. Wait until wemby fills out his frame.

I think Wemby’s ceiling is an MVP and one or two championships which is still more than most teams can ask of their superstars

He is 21, him being in these conversations is enough, he will always have GOAT potential, we’ll see if he can reach it. But he seems like a guy that wants to be better and better, its safe to say he will work his ass off and improve aspects of his game

This reminded me about his 100 game block streak which i thought maybe we just ended but it seems like it ended a while ago

They only shot extremely high floaters and three point shots. They run the Celtics offense. And he had to worry about boxing out Moussa. He blocks a shot, the loose ball most likely lands on Moussa’s lap.
