He had a podcast with Eddie Gonzales “THE ETCS” I would strongly recommend going back listening to it. Was back in KD’s Brooklyn days but the way he talks about players and games he’s a fan just like us and knows so much about ball!

Dude missed 1.5 years with an Achilles. Everything I knew prior to about that injury was a career ender. He’s been at an all nba level since, and was called the best player in the game by Giannis in his 21 playoff / Olympic run. KD is the best case scenario with that injury and no signs of slowing down

The guy asking questions and talking with KD is Leigh Ellis. He use to be on a long running NBA show/podcast that went by numerous names over the years (Basketball Jones, The Starters, No Dunks). He left those projects a few years ago and started doing independent journalism and his own traveling basketball vlog.

He is into ball the same way that KD is. Elite knowledge, and isn’t a hot take machine. If you like this snippet, you would like most of what he puts out.

Assuming a scoring average of 25 ppg, he would need to play 445 games to do it. Basically, all he has to do is play until the end of the ³⁰⁄₃₁ season, maintaining a 25 ppg average, not missing a single game.

Yeah no chance KD does it. He’s missed too much time, otherwise I could see him do it, bc he is a better scorer than Bron.

His record is going to be insanely hard to break, bc it requires a generational scoring talent, with incredible longevity and barely any injuries, who is productive from day one, and remains so until retirement. I’m 22, and I won’t be shocked if the record isn’t broken in my lifetime.

The Celtics had the second best draft lottery odds that year and Ainge LOVED Durant (he would have taken at pick 1, over Oden). The ping-pong balls, sadly, f-ed them and they ended up with the 5th pick. The silver lining is that they use the fifth pick in a trade for Ray Allen and Glen Davis, both of whom played a critical role, especially Allen, in their NBA championship team that year. If they had drafted Durant, Ainge would definitely have held onto him, rather than using him as trade bait.

Well, if healthy, he’ll reach. #4 on the scoring list next season.

He has the rest of this year and all next year and he’s just 1,907 points away from tying for 4th so just 1908 from outright 4th place on his own.

3rd place would need him to play well and for a couple more seasons after next season so he’d have to ball out for at least 3 more years after this year, be healthy etc.

Could he? Yes. Will he? Don’t know.
