That is kind of true but you would rather have Jamal as a second option and MPJ as third option. Jamal seems like he is fine either way but MPJ was definitely meant to be the 1st option in his mind.

That’s normally the case with offensive superstars. It’s still the best option to run the offense through a Jokic, Luka, Tatum, etc… but other high usage players like have to sacrifice individual numbers and potential accolades to play with them. The guys who benefit the most are the Aaron Gordon/Derrick White types who excel in a more limited role.

In terms of time of possession most teams will have a guard/primary ball handler control the ball for the first 8 or so seconds of the shot clock to bring the ball up.

For his position Jokic is #1 amongst Centers by a mile, and also ahead of all Power Forwards.

Jamal Murray was literally 7th in time of possession BEFORE Jokic even got hurt. He has the ball in his hands an incredibly large amount of the offensive sets. MPJ is shooting 19 shots a game instead of the roughly 13 he did in Denver. That’s why his stats are thru the roof.
