Take a look back at some great John Wall moments with the Washington Wizards ahead of his retirement celebration tonight.
The best to ever dougie
Gil gave him 10K “I bet you won’t dougie”
ngl that moment still fresh in my mind, time flew by damn.

Prime John Wall was the fucking truth.
No that’s Paul Pierce
Optimus Dime
No that was Pierce 🍀
Big time - has always been one of my favourite players
Him dissecting the Raptors in that one playoff sweep was crazy
Or the Hawks.
I still remember him just taking the ball, running full court 1v5, doing behind the back gather and finishing with a mean dunk at the end of the quarter.
Wall used to always ball out in the playoffs, so sad he was robbed of his prime and had to disappear into irrelevancy due to injuries.
Edit: found the play
“Fuck wrong wit you boy”
Thanks for fucking up my evening
JV pnr after JV pnr after JV pnr.
Still love my Lithuanian Lamppost.
That one hurt.
This guy was my favorite player for years. I’m disappointed in how his career went, but when he was in a fast break, you were on the edge of your seat because you were ready for an ESPN Top 10.
He was so fun to watch.
I’m with you. I feel sad we never got a fully realized John Wall like other people feel about Derrick Rose. Wall was so fast and so fun with the ball on the break, but also an underrated playmaker.
Are they retiring his number or just celebrating his career?
Celebrating his career plus giving out a bobblehead
No one is going to wear the 2 in DC ever again. Just a matter of time
Most loved wizard of the last 40 years, he is a lock for jersey retirement
Been trying to figure this out lol
Celebrating the cleanest dougie ever done
Willing to bet it’s just his career lol. He hasn’t done enough to warrant a # retirement
No they (ownership) basically said he’s getting his jersey retired, just not tonight.
He’s done more than any other wizard. They’ll definitely retire his number
He has in terms of Wizards success
They need to put his player dna back on 2k shits pissing me off. Should be on the all time wizards roster
He is on it I’m pretty sure
They have him on 26, I get what you’re saying tho he wasn’t on 25 I believe
I still remember that golden UK team
I thought him and boogie were gonna break the league
I remember half the dudes at my junior prom going to the one room with a tv to watch them lose in the tourney.
Most of us were relieved over rivalry bias, but I knew in my heart we were haters for cheering on the downfall of something special.
Fucking Calipari had to have the only 1-2 draft selection on a roster to win a championship.
Too many folks forget how good he was before the injuries. Was the best point guard in the East for a bit.
He was so damn good that for a brief moment people actually debated steph+klay vs wall+beal as the best back court. Insane to compare in hindsight, but thats just how crazy he was balling out then.
Was kinda hoping it’d just be a supercut of his flawless dougy
my beautiful prince
John Wall is what got me into watching basketball in the DMV. Such a fun playstyle to watch. Fuck the injuries. He could have done so much more.
“WELCOME TO DC!!!”
One of my favorite players until we had to play him
He was so good man. People talk about Drose before injuries but this man was RIGHT there before injuries.
Yea fucking right
Casual
D Rose was an MVP (the youngest of all time) and championship contender. John Wall played pretty much a full career and was All NBA 3rd team one time and never went anywhere in the playoffs. I was born in DC and having been watching the wizards my entire life. Since Rod Strickland. But yea I’m the casual. You can’t tell me nothing about basketball. Lil bro said Derrick Rose. Lmao.
that was his last healthy season and he was like 27, averaging 23 and 11, he was just entering his prime.
Rose only won mvp because people hated lebron after he ditched cleveland and people didn’t want to give him his 3rd in a row
Yea was his jump shot gonna get consistent when he hit his prime or was he gonna continue to be John “Brick” Wall
he was a better jump shooter and 3 point shooter than derrick rose
“can’t tell me nothing”
John Wall was one of the worst jump shooters in the league wtf are you even talking about
Yeah and Rose was worse, is that too complicated for you
Bro wall averaged like 20-10 I think roses MVP year he averaged like 24-6. That’s not far off at all considering wall was leading the league in steals if I remember correctly
No he’s fucking not.
Only thing comparable was Wall’s speed in the open court.
Comparing John Wall and D. Rose is like comparing a BMW 7 series to a Rolls Royce.
Both are luxury but one is clearly head and shoulders above the other.
DRose before his injuries was the most athletic and explosive PG I’ve ever seen. I mean the guy won the MVP over a prime Lebron who just won the year before
Only PG that comes close is prime Brodie. Wall was definitely still elite in his time, but isn’t in the same god tier as DRose
Only PG that comes close is prime Brodie.
Westbrook is literally the average of Rose and Wall athletically, both fast with the ball and explosive vertically. People are too obsessed with Roses quick twitch athletic ability and dunks. He was a mediocre play maker, inefficient scorer especially against lengthy defenders, bad shooter, and Damien Lilliard tier defender. If you want powerful dunks Rose is in the pantheon but if you want actual point guard play on both sides of the ball, both Wall and Westbrook were in a completely different league.
Prime John Wall was must see TV. His Zigtech Reeboks were must haves too.
Weak ass tribute video. Dude has some nasty highlights (offense and defense). This shit doesn’t do him justice
bad editing that doesn’t show any of the full moves
Skip and Purdy will be at the game.
He was Ja before Ja.
he was a level better than Ja IMO
he actually played great defense
Also a better fast break player and probably overall point guard. The only real weakness in his game was shooting. Jesus Christ be praised.
Yeah John Wall was incredibly well rounded before his injuries. If he could shoot, he would be Chris Paul
The stupid bathroom slip smh
Goat tank commander
Rockets legend
He was so fun to watch
I got his rookie home jersey!! Miss them wiz teams
John Wall will get forgotten to time but in his prime him taking the Wizards to the playoffs every year is nothing short of amazing knowing what we know now about the wizards and how poorly theyre ran. Still the GOAT hoopmixtape.
He played 9 years for the wizards and made the playoffs 4 times. And you say every year.
His hoopmixtape and his dougie will help him hold some relevance
Oh man. I’m old.
The goat of the dougie
My favorite player in 2K16
He was always fast as all hell to get on to the golf course
Back when i was living in dc in 2017 beal and wall were so fun to watch! Got a lot of free breakfasts off the mcdonalds app haha
It’s weird to see dudes retire and their whole highlight reel is in 4k HD…
“FUCK YOU TALKIN BOUT BOAH”
MY GOAT
John wall was my favourite pg for a while, I really wish him and Beal coulda grown together a bit more. Woulda been fun to have another competitive team out east during that late 2010s - early 2020s era.
He is the only reason I started watching basketball as a kid. I have double digit, John Wall jerseys. Definitely my goat.
One of my favorite players to watch when I was still a kid. He would’ve been an all time great if injuries didn’t rob him of everything.
Kind of a poor man’s D-Rose (not a knock at all, John Wall was tremendous and I feel not everyone knows how good he was in his prime) in terms of the injuries cutting a great prime short and really putting an otherwise abysmal franchise on his back for a while as much as he could and really embracing the city as a whole. Wish we got more John Wall
also shoutout John Wall because I went with a girl from my dorm as friends to her sorority informal dance my first semester of college in 2013, one of my first times around alcohol and any kind of partying and my date’s friends got real lit pregaming so she spent most of the night taking care of them while I hung out with my roommate who was there with another girl, but at one point she pawned off her friend Mackenzie on me to dance with while she attended to the other friend, but you know what, I didn’t mind it because I was a noble guy (and Mackenzie was cute) and so the one song we danced to was…the John Wall. So I was there doing the John Wall (…John Wall…John Wall…John Wall…) at a second-rate events space in Muncie, Indiana with a drunk girl I’d never spoken to before. She didn’t acknowledge me the next time we passed each other in the halls, maybe because she didn’t remember the night or maybe because she was embarrassed by her own actions or maybe because she was embarrassed to have done the John Wall with me. We will never know but we do know that she’s married to a woman now so it is what it is.
Anyways, shoutout John Wall
HOLY FUCK JOHN WALL RETIRED?!
Man, he was so fast. Still some of my favourite clips to watch.
the first moment being a dougie cracks me up every time
Dougie John Wall and Gang Sign John Wall will forever live in my memory
Optimus Dime!
Oh shit an ad masquerading as a reddit post
/r/nba when somebody encourages them to watch an actual game
Never got along with his teammates. Never developed his jumper. Never went anywhere in the playoffs. Cocky for no reason. And every time he did hit a jumper he couldn’t believe it himself. As a lifelong Wizards fan we invested too much time and money in this dude. Glad that era is over with. Mediocrity is celebrated far too often in sports. We retire anybody’s number. .We let anybody in the hall. Bruh was All NBA 3rd team once in his life Miss me with it.
Is that you, Colin Cowherd?
Nah just a Wizards fan who got tired of watching this one trick pony.
I wish he was more responsible with all the partying and was smarter with his body, but John Wall did not fail the Wizards man. Ted Leonsis/Ernie Grunfeld failed him
He never developed his jumper. Not a bit. He could’ve elevated his game with a consistent jumper. He wasn’t worried about it. And he was totally out of shape half his career. Natural talent through the roof, but his work ethic was garbage.
Give me a break, was not ‘half his career’ he was out of shape, was like the last two seasons at most.
Ooh okay. No rebuttal for bad work ethic and no jumper tho. Just give you a break on him being out of shape just his last two years. John “Brick” Wall…. And wtf are you talking about. He got comfortable with being an all star, satisfied with the money he was making and never took care of his body. You literally just said that.
You sound cute
