To add - 1st team all nba is an 82 game award. Olympic Games are single elimination where you have to play well in that game specifically. Picking KD and LeBron is not a crazy choice

Tatum was never going to have the ball in his hands on this team as much as he normally does with the Celtics. That relegates him to a role player on the team. He’s great at pretty much everything on the court, but they needed the role players on Team USA to basically act as specialists, and while he’s great at everything, he isn’t incredible at any one thing. Jrue is a better perimeter defender, AD and Bam are better interior defenders, KD is a better scorer, Book is a better shooter, and Ant is a much more dynamic slasher. A team that’s struggling for those roles can slot Tatum in and instantly get a boost, but a team full of guys who can do everything well didn’t really have a place for a jack of all trades kind of guy that doesn’t have one particular skill that’s better than his teammates’.

Felt pretty cut and dry to me? He was playing poorly and we had a better lineup at the time and then won gold?

I feel like the titles always sound worse than when you actually listen to the interview too. It’s easy to imagine how someone comes off if you don’t actually listen to them saying it. It makes sense why he’d feel the way he does, kinda unfair that being honest is seen as a negative, especially when you’re just explaining your mentality.
