From the current mention trade package for Giannis, the Heat trade package is probably the best in my opinion. 3 young players with potential and 2 mystery boxes that could be anything, maybe even another Giannis. Significantly better that trading for the Warriors package with is an injured player, an unwanted player, and 3 mystery boxes.

I’m a Boston fan with no horse in this race, but I think the Spurs could beat everyone’s offer just by including Dylan Harper and some of those filler contracts, but their fans seem to think their window is “later” despite being a top 3 team. IMO, they shouldn’t fuck around assuming their championship aspirations will come later. Adding Giannis makes them a powerhouse immediately. Their window is now. We’ve seen far too many young teams made up of 21-24 year olds get really far… like the Harden/Westbrook/Durant Thunder or the Shaq/Penny Magic or even those young LeBron Cavs teams that never get that far again. We’ve also seen injuries derail promising teams expected to contend for years. The Rose Bulls come to mind.

Spurs also have guys still on rookie scale for a couple years to weather bringing in Giannis. I think they should win a couple titles and figure out who they need to move for salary purposes later.

I don’t know what other team picks those teams have but from a strategy standpoint, GS may be the best place to send him if you are getting that teams picks. Ant is still young so you would expect them to be good for a while with giannis. Knicks are already a top team. Heat in the east will easily be a playoff team and potential top seed. GS is the wildcard and most likely can bottom out even with giannis in a few years. Assuming bucks get kuminga and the later draft picks, curry and green will be retired in a few years. No young talent and really not many ways to get better other than free agency. Thunder and spurs and nuggets will potentially be dominating so the west will be tough for quite some time.

Giannis to the knocks or heat would be tough

Wolves have talent like Jaden, but I have no idea how the team would fare if they consolidate multiple current players into Giannis.  The depth would be brutal.

If Giannis really wants a real shot at a chip, Knicks makes the most sense.

Warriors, Heat and Timberwolves feels like you have to work really hard and still probably get eliminated in the first round (although Timberwolves probably the best of that three if I had to bet).
