The Pistons are 12-5 against the east this season. They’re objectively a good team and would be a top seeded team in the west. Yes the middle of the pack teams and a bunch of the other top teams in the east aren’t good, but to generalize every single team from the east is unfair. The celtics superteam, last years pacers, the 2019 raptors, bucks, cavs have all had legit great stretches in the last years and could very much compete with the best in the west.

The nuggets are a really good team
They struggled a lot with the Pistons defense, but on the flip side, the Pistons offense is also atrocious. Denver played a sloppy game, but its probably more so Pistons being the best defense in the league.
The Nuggets broadcast isn’t showing the same angle the Pistons one did. The second foul looks like he clipped him on the Pistons stream @ 2:20:24.
This Nuggets broadcast is like a Zapruder film requiring 10x zoom.

the spirit of the rule (as it was explained to me a while ago and just sorta made sense) isn’t so much intended to be a strict time limit, as much as it was just put into place to ensure teams have an urgency to get the ball inbounds and keep the game moving
obviously they do tighten up and it’s not like they’re gonna give a team 10 seconds, but i don’t think there’ll ever be a point where it’s enforced more than just the ref counting to 5 to himself
