Embiid will retire a Sixer. PG we really had no other options at the time and I don’t think it’s worth giving up draft capital to get rid of him. He’s by far our best perimeter defender this year.

Not really we are well aware the embiid extension was not financially smart and as for George I always say they had cap space they could only use immediately or lose.

If not George who was a better available signing for that space, which was generated by Maxey agreeing to wait a year for his extension? Was PG an overpay and a risk? Yes. Are PG and Embiid potential multi year killers, also yes.

But VJ was a great pick and if (yeah yeah I know) the two are healthy that’s a good team. Luck with health and they could actually be good. I’m not sure there was any other path to that.
