Watched Podz in person play the Mavs last week. I actually can’t believe how many layups he misses and bizarre dribbling turnovers. You just don’t see that in the NBA. Pretty remarkable

I think they just had some moments talking back and forth in the series last year. With Steph out, Podz obviously got a lot more minutes and a lot playing vs. Ant. And this game and last night they had some chatting too. Ant was on the Olympic team, so Podz talking about wanting to be on it got Ant’s attention, and he said something about Podz to the casters when he was out of the rotation
I think podz had a big game in the playoffs last year, and ant said something to the effect of “I don’t even know who you are” to him, and that started their trash talking chemistry.

Everybody keeps pointing to the “I don’t have social media” line but right after that he said “but I know what has happened.” People don’t acknowledge that last line. He clearly meant he isn’t seeing everything splashed across social media but that he does know what’s going on. I personally think saying “I love Minnesota and I’m with the people” is a good answer to show where he stands. To the point and leaves no room for misinterpretation…and yet people are all here dissecting and misinterpreting.
As someone who lives in Minneapolis, I’m grateful for exactly what he said. He doesn’t really understand what’s going on, but he knows the people of the city are hurting and he supports them.
We do not need an out of touch athlete to go into faux-detail about something like this when it could give the oppressors any sort of ammunition. He said he supports us, that’s enough for me from a 24-year-old athlete.
I also live in the Twin Cities and fully agree. Hearing him say “hey I love you guys and I’m on your side” was good enough for me. Say what you want about Ant (and people say it all), but the one thing everyone agrees on whether you love him or hate him is that Ant is genuine and doesn’t filter anything he says. He meant what he said and I appreciate that he’s with us.
