[Highlight] Up 3, with 5.0 seconds remaining in regulation, Jalen Brunson misses both clutch free throws, and Joel Embiid turns the ball over, claims he got fouled (with a replay). Knicks win.
Im ngl embiid got obviously intentionally fouled here and they didnt call it
The 2nd intentional foul they miss, the shamet on Maxey one was just like a textbook intentional foul they ignored
there was another drive where Robinson just bear hugged Embiid and they didn’t call it. Sixers got hosed this game by the refs
Edgecomb was standing out of bounds on the jump ball call, the ref fuckery went both ways.
You don’t watch the whole game lol
Seriously lmao. Don’t even try and tell me that the refs favored the Knicks. Horrible officiating all around.
Yea, kind of a BS headline here. I dislike Embiid, but that was an obvious foul.
Yeah, I dislike Embiid too. What were we talking about again? Oh, the foul.
Funniest Knicks fan
That’s crazy. It’s the textbook intentional foul scenario.
Yes, he was fouled and it was very obvious. They wanted to prevent a 3 point attempt
Refs were like, “we get paid salary not for overtime”
Shamet intentionally fouled Maxey on the Sixers prior possession and it wasn’t called.
It was comical.
Just like Maxey in the playoffs. Interesting coincidence.
Steph is no longer alone…
Brunson went for the intentional foul but also pulled back right away and Embiid threw the ball away as he was going to get fouled.
We can’t want refs to let the players play and decide it themselves then bitch and complain because one player turned it over. If this was called a foul but Embiid made the pass and it led to a 3 everyone would be complaining in the opposite direction.
Ultimately the ‘foul’ wasn’t enough to impede Embiid’s ability to make the play and the refs let the game play out rather than give a ticky-tack intentional foul, regardless of result that’s what I’d hope for late game.
Foul obviously, but is there an argument that this is a transition take? Would certainly make things more interesting and maybe remove some of the foul game for teams up 3
There’s no transition take foul in the last two min of the game
I think the comment is suggesting we change the rules
“Claims he got fouled”
It was yet another intentional foul that they did not call
Refs hit Philly with the “Wanna see me do it again” SpongeBob meme 😂
looks like a transition take foul too. 1ft + possession. could’ve tied the game there
edit: i forgot there is no transition take foul in the last 2 minutes
Wait what? Why the fuck not?
So that you can intentionally foul like Brunson tried to do here. Adds a lil extra strategy to the game and the nba gets extra possessions and breaks and thus ads
Tbf Embid wild for throwing the ball away 🤣
He’s passing the ball up the court to try and get a better shot off???
False. He threw it away bc he thought he was gonna get the foul call. Any one in my rec gym could of did a better pass than that smh
Embiid should be grateful because game is over if they call it and without the whistle they had a chance to make a three…
Embiid should be grateful that a missed call sealed their loss?
The Knicks were trying to foul him for a reason— to secure the win. Embiid throwing an awful bounce pass is on him
Rare ball knower
investigate a whole bunch of ppl for that game cuz wtf was that lmao
i cant tell which side or refs threw more
Ref got the memo from nba that we need to close the game faster. So less foul calling. lol
During the 2nd review they were yelling at the refs to end the game already
Tony Brothers masterclass
The easiest way to call a fair game is to make decisions neither side can understand
You ever notice how you never see all the Tony Brothers in the same room?
I just wanted a 2 for the cover. I had a pittance on the game and honestly don’t care, but if I was at home instead of in Vegas to party I wouldn’t be betting on sports at all. The sports world in general is for betting as the kids would say, sus.
Completely unrelated but I have never seen this many highlights posted for a single regular season game
probably because of the MN game getting cancelled and people trying to push the horrors of the world down the feed
I don’t even wanna be that guy but there’s a lot worse stuff that happens in the world dude these are obviously just people posting highlights of the game with no real intention to “mask” the ICE murders
Not for stuff that effects the western world
Reddit is a very western leaning platform so of course it’s going to care about that more
Yeah its basically the entire front page and home page. Which it should, Alex Pretti was executed for trying to help two women stay safe.
But it’s so hard to see and read about. My heart breaks.
New York City and Philadelphia in a de facto prime time game
That’s the big answer right there
I feel like 7 or so years ago you used to get much more highlights per game
I’d say even 3-4 years ago.
“highlights”
I mean they’re rarely going to call it but he was very clearly fouled
they actually call it a shit ton cuz they know teams like to foul up 3 with almost no time left
crazy that they didnt call it twice tbh
Yeah honestly I was trying to counteract my own inherent bias as a sixers fan, but he went in with both hands in what was clearly a shot at an intentional foul.
it wouldve been 2 fts instead of 3 cuz the foul came in way b4 maxey’s shot but still 2 fts better than an airball/loss of possession…
The whole ending of the game felt like the refs had more impact on the outcome than the players, with the exception of the Knicks missing free throws.
It felt like they got self conscious about fucking up so many calls and just decided not to call anything
Yeah after both coaches had to burn their final timeouts on dumbass calls
If we’re rarely calling fouls where a guy is literally trying to foul, what is even the point
refs even missing intentional fouls smh
‘Claims he got fouled’
He was actually fouled BuckBuck, refs just missed another one.
he’s counting on no one actually watching the clip and upvoting because embiid bad
I’ve always liked his content but this was a dumbass title
Yeah I don’t get it. He has the best clips but feels the need to farm engagement by adding narratives to everything. Bro should be working for a news station with some of these titles.
It was another intentional foul missed. Lol
Cleanest game in regulation 🗣️
I have the sixers flare so I’m sure this will come off as me just being salty but I really mean this - the NBA is the worst officiated league in America and it’s not even close. Refs were incredibly inconsistent both ways all game.
Least controversial ending in a Knick vs 76ers game.
Tbf even if they called this it wouldn’t have changed anything
pretty clear they went for an intentional foul and kinda shocking it wasnt called
lmao the announcer saying “clean steal” is crazy. i hate that shit, when they obviously get away one and go “good d” smh
i mean it was probably a foul, but the foul had absolutely nothing to do with the steal, which was clean
He grabs his right arm as he is making the pass. Embiid clearly can’t get enough behind the pass because of that, and that allows the pass to be intercepted.
Man, NBA fandom is an absolute fucking joke. Y’know, you don’t HAVE to defend clearly incorrect calls (or in this case, no-calls). It’s not an attack on you personally as a fan or as a person, to say the refs got something wrong
It blows my mind how often objectively bad refereeing is turned into a partisan fight.
While it does look like they missed a call, that was a fucking terrible pass attempt by Embiid.
if your arm gets fucked during the pass its gonna impact it
that being said it was probably gonna be a bad pass but you never know. Have to move fast to not get fouled in order to try to get a 3 point shot off too so a lot of things going on at once. A turnover is just gonna be a likely scenario here 80 feet from the hoop to avoid getting fouled.
Brunson was VERY obviously intentionally fouling him. What are we doing here?
Clearly the intent was to foul but that was one of the softest attempts I’ve seen 😂
Refs were like, nope! Severe snow storm is coming let’s all go home.
Um, he intentionally fouled him, lol.
What the hell happened.
Officiating was terrible in the last minute of the game, sixers were down 8 and got gift wrapped 5 points from the officials ignoring a timeout call and a foul at the same time. Maxey was fouled before he attempted a 3 that he airballed(should’ve been two free throws).
The entire officiating crew should be investigated
What happened to basketball man
Somehow this is all KATs fault
I love clowning Embiid but it looks like Brunson intentionally fouled him…
What a glorious lack of whistle.
Knicks are bums this year
Anonobi plays the ball in the attacking half and then returns to their own half with 2.1 seconds remaining.
he immediately made up for it
Mikail brother, what are we doing
Chiming in again to say that your highlight titles are horrible and reek of AI
Love the OG sixers logo on the court
Was gonna say how cool the court looks with the gradient red to black, but it was just a light reflecting
Was the bo7 in playoffs originally created because refs just be influencing results to heavily in some games? More games to recover from refs mistakes?
Not hating on refs though. It’s a tough job but sometimes they do be straight up deciding winners. Not tonight but often enough to be troublesome.
What do you kids say? They’re having a mid off?
One guy (whose ultimate dream is to get fouled) intentionally fouls another guy whose only desire in life is to get fouled, but the refs are blind as always.
What a product.
shitshow of an ending lol
Some things never change
It was clearly a foul. Intentional too.
Who wants it less?
Nobody’s asking the most important question on everyone’s minds. Did the Philly fans still get free chicken?!
I mean… he’s trying to throw a bounce pass halfway across the court. There’s no way it was getting there.
wow looks like the Knicks & 666ers are Pro-ICE, way to stand in solidarity
It wouldn’t have mattered if he was fouled
can they both lose instead
fuck sake
If anyone watched the whole game, or even the fourth quarter, it was clear the refs were favoring Philly in first half, helped them stage a huge comeback in the fourth to finish as a one possession game, but didn’t want to go overboard and give the game away for NYK.
NBA does this a lot if you watch closely down the stretch, refs try to bring games as close to one possession as possible, probably for betting reasons
why watch a game for this
i now think everything is match fix’titious behavior
if i am not mistaken, is not there any backcourt violation for OG?
stealing from PHI court then dribbling from back court?
may be i am wrong or living in 90”s
Refs ICED that one
Yesterday POR vs TOR had a similar feel…if I had to guess the mandate is to lessen the overall amount of stoppage…and I can’t really complain
The game and players have become SOOO dependent on FTs its terrible, thats an easy fix
“Claims he got fouled” lol fuck off
Yeah they fouled him
How many games ended with an OG steal lol
He claims he got fouled but it’s amazing how quickly he and his teammates basically just said “whatever” and started their good game hand-shakes. With how quickly they stopped caring it makes it all look so performative.
I mean the game was probably over even if they called the foul
I genuinely just might be blind, but to me it looks like Brunson was going to foul him and then yanked his hands back. Where is the foul(genuine question)?
Damnn wth was that lol
Sixers got screwed by the refs vs the Rockets and now they got screwed again? wtf
I mean those end of game calls are terrible but what really kills us is how Maxey is reffed every play. No ‘star’ player gets a shittier whistle. He is getting to the rim at will and a lot of possessions come down to whether him getting crushed gets called or not
Kat? Curry?
[deleted]
You didn’t watch the 4th quarter if you think this. The refs were just bad.
Refs missing VJ stepping out of bounds on the jump ball, ignoring Brown’s TO call. Not giving us the intentional foul to prevent Philly from even having a chance to make a 3. Calling offensive foul on Brunson in the inbounds and only getting it reversed on replay. Both our Centers fouling out in the 4th…oh yea they definitely had money on us. /s
Point to a single time players have been fiend for having a bad game
Those are all different things, though.
The point the poster is making is that players don’t get fined by the league for not performing at a high level.
Refs get in trouble and lose money for unsportsmanlike conduct, there was none in this game. You are suggesting they get fined for being bad which has never happened for players
Add a 4th ref, Add more ref teams, Do more to make it obvious when bad refs get less games(which costs them money). End of the day basketball is by far the hardest sport to ref, it will never be perfect. Compare nba refs to college to see just how bad it can get
Referees so clearly needed Knicks to win today,
Why?
Y’all always pull this bs
They love blaming the refs 😂😭
Refs were ass but it never makes sense people always think refs want us - of all teams - to win.
Have they watched us recently - or for the last 20+ years? Lmao.
Refs were ass for us too this game though…
Again, this rhetoric just never makes any sense. Sixer had more FTs even.
I’m not understanding how they can want us to win but pull as much bs as they did against us.
But why did the Refs need the Knicks to win, clearly?
Refs had Knicks winning. Couldn’t have them losing to the sixers 3 times in a row.
Truly baffled reading the comments after watching the game. People think the refs helped New York? Really? As if KAT wasnt getting foul calls for brushing against players?
The same KAT who is consistently in foul trouble every other game and kicking Powell in the balls? That guy?
Embiid started throwing that pass before the contact and Brunson barely touched him. Foul or not, it was a vintage Embiid moment. Trying to throw a bouce pass in between Shamet and OG with Maxey nowhere near the ball is really breathtaking stuff. Not hard to see why the 76ers never went anywhere in the playoffs.
Oh look completely wrong moron guy again!
Is there anything less clutch than a Knick
Hahahahha
They’re complaining about the refs in a knicks win thread? (Even though we were getting hosed too) We’re so back 🗣️
Stop
y’all are like two days removed from going 2-9, relax lmao
not sure i recall the knicks being “hosed” whatsoever, the useless LTM report will look like the refs shouldve worn blue and orange
I mean when one of the league’s flagship teams is in a slump like this, they have to do something.
Too big to fail
avg embiid playoff moment
I mean that’s a take foul from Brunson
Take fouls don’t apply in the final 2 mins of the 4th quarter or overtime, so it was not a take foul.
It was an intentional foul, though.
The refs sucked for both teams this game
Doubt that clown cares
Thats not a take foul, he was trying to intentionally foul him lol
No take fouls in the last two minutes is such a dumb rule. They should still be calling transition take fouls, it’s just a free pass to break up a fast break
Maybe a dumb rule but they made it that way cause it allows teams down big to catch up with chucking threes.
It was a take foul, albeit with minimal contact, true. Embiid was going to through that ball away though regardless. Brunson barely touched him and Embiid threw a dumb pass, per usual in the clutch.
Can’t even get the terminology right and still wrong!
Uncalled foul that he gets roasted for reacting to?. Unironically yes
Vintage Embiid chokejob. Must have gotten injured during the play before.
He literally got fouled there
Your first mistake is expecting people to watch the video they’re commenting on
I watched it. Brunson barely touched him, and Embiid threw a dumb pass. He was gonna turn that shit over even if he didn’t get fouled.
Still a foul. Don’t be dumb.
Flairless bitch moment
Risky pass sure but a foul is a foul. Brunson is literally deliberately trying to foul him here to prevent the chance of the 3.
a foul is a foul
Not in the nba. There is zero consistency in reffing, dont expect a call until you hear the whistle
Look I love shitting on Embozo but that was a missed intentional foul, just like the one on Maxey the previous possession.
Reminder that the line was 227.5 and those two missed fouls left a likely 7-8 points off the board. NBA refs man.
