People were 100% blinded by hate watching him play in his prime. They thought that just because he lost his high end athleticism that he’d be the next Andrew Bynum or other good bigs that fell off hard in their early 30’s. But Embiid kept developing year over year without fail since his rookie year to the point where he was nearly unguardable and you could only hope to contain him. As long as his knees don’t completely blow out and he can still get up and down the court he’s going to be scoring a lot of points.

the entire first half the commentators were essentially saying “hes not that guy anymore” as he drops 30 points on 12 shots. People let their bias in the way of what should be the biggest feel good story in the nba right now.

Everyone said he was D O N E with zero chance to get back. Now that hes somewhat back the response to it is “well yea but hes not mvp joel”. If that doesnt show bias idk what does. Embiid has only played 25 games, I think it’s fair to consider that when they select reserves.
