[Barkley] “We were off for 2 months, there was no reason for us to be off 2 months…There’s some fools at home and on the internet saying we were talking bad about the players, so they made us work less. Shut the hell up!”
Chuck got to get some new suits. That ozempic working double time on his ass.
Wow I didn’t notice until you pointed it out, Chuck looking good
Looks almost like young chuck
I literally thought this was an old clip until I realized it was HD
How would the disel look.
Shaq hasn’t been in shape since he played for the Magic
Round is a shape
IN shape vs A shape
dunno this shape looks pretty good to me? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVsWuHblBwU
Ppl go after shaq way too much. The guy is one of the best players ever, won 4 championships, 2 franchises, won an mvp, stayey very healthy for someone taking as much physical abuse as he did, and he played for like 20 years, and was a great and vital player to his team for all but the last like 2 years. Who tf cares if he was overweight during the second half of his career, it clearky worked out for him
its because of recency bias, and because he’s been a constant tv presence since retirement. he only really started to put on weight after the 2002 injury
Him being in shape was a big topic for most of his Lakers tenure. I remember there was issue with him being sponsored by Burger King because it looked bad with him being out of shape. Also 2002 and beyond is over half his career.
He looks in pretty good shape these days. Not ozempic then but better than the phoenix/ Boston days.
Ozempic adding decades into his life
Didn’t notice?? He got the ozempic face bad
He looks like he aged 10 years but taking off the weight def has to add to his lifespan
MOUNJARO FOOO
Round Mounjaro of Rebound.
Head looking small as fuck with that big ahh suit
I think it’s the opposite, his head looks too big for his slim body. Like a Funko pop
Straight from the 2003 NBA draft (or from the video of Stop making sense by Talking Heads)
It’s mounjaro fool! As chuck said
Tirzepatide. But close enough.
I remember back in the day Chuck said something to the effect that he wasn’t going to deny himself good food. That he would die fat and happy. Never thought I’d see him thin after that haha.
That shit is cute until you start getting old and all your friends start dropping like flies. Suddenly the idea of seeing your grandchildren grow and enjoying what you worked for is more appealing than two burgers and a bag of fries from five guys.
I’m guessing life corrected him. Fat ~or happy. Maybe he found more reason to live longer. Good for Chuck.
It’s hilarious too because the sponsor during this video is the manufacturer of those medications haha
He is diabetic. I think this is the diabetes working on his body. My bad shrunk because of diabetes.
That is a fucking nice suit
I was gonna say, those subway ads are accurate. His head is back to his playing days size.
ngl i didn’t notice that they were gone. it was a good, quiet 2 months
The prime crew has done a great job.
They made me forget about the old TNT crew
The less Shaq on our TV’s the better
For real, he only worked bc of his chemistry with Chuck, outside of that, he’s just not good at his job.
i already see him on a ton of commercials i’m tired of that man
They shouldn’t be the “main” form of tv commentary. They’re an extremely bad look for the league to casuals. The new Prime stuff is miles better from a professional standpoint. I’m not saying that Inside doesn’t have a place. Those guys are still really funny. I think they could be less front and center
This is true. I think we forget how this show was just one random basketball halftime crew 20 years ago. As a basketball fan you’d also be watching those nightly espn2 nba recap shows where they put the boxscore on the screen for every game
100%. Their shtick is also somewhat going out of style. I think the whole “roasting” form of comedy really peaked around d 2016-2019 now it’s just a bad look and we need people to actually talk basketball so casuals can learn
I think their era is over.
It makes sense. No need to have the A team on together when football is taking up much of the consciousness. Save the petrol tickets or energy for the playoffs.
Damn, total opposite here. Basketball is pretty easy to understand and watch myself. I don’t need 10 second takes from five bland new analysts lol. I’d rather watch old heads crack jokes.
“There were folks saying we talking bad”
Proceeds to talk bad
Idk that NBA Cup being meaningless joke was funny
Yeah it’s funny to shit on the game, the product , anyone who enjoys it or wants to watch when you’re paid to promote n entertain alongside it.
Most social media commentators love things that involve shitting on something. Inside the nba is just old folks crying about shit and I say that as someone who once found it funny
I still dont understand having 2 championships in the same season, that’s what’s interesting to me
Two threads under this one on my home page:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/os9vlbTzGW
‘Oh, you gonna watch the Sacramento, New Orleans..’
Kenny LMAO
Sounds like Charles does want to get worked like a dawg at ESPN
The man is addicted to his own voice. I think he realized that no one has really missed the show and is looking at the reviews nbc and prime are getting for their coverage
“Okay, we’ll take vacation, but only on the condition that we get to say how much we don’t want to take a vacation on the air.“
That Disney money too strong to say no to.
I love Chuck, he’s not scared to say how he feels lol
He’s like the opposite of u/heatfan who you can only expect the most generic responses from
Is this beef
Dude got called a bot and now they’re cyber bullying him on every milk toast comment he makes 😭
I think you mean “milquetoast”
r/boneappletea material
Milkthetoast
Unhand that toast this instant
I prefer milk steak.
Milquetoast is in the /r/BoneAppleTea Hall of Fame
That’s just a fancy-ass way to spell milk toast.
In fairness, the comic character that the term gets it’s name from - Caspar Milquetoast - certainly get’s HIS name from the food product “milk toast”.
Elitist.
I’m sorry… Jizz Lousie…
Wait why is heat fan raptors fan
I hate Chuck, he’s not scared to say how he feels and most of the time its super dumb lol
Honestly don’t care for these guys anymore. I’m super happy with Prime and I’m sure Peacock is giving out a quality show as well.
Peacock is good, but the guys don’t talk as much or as in-depth as the Prime crew
I think Peacock is trash tbh. A lot of old head/unc energy. Prime is great though
The guys on Prime are older than the guys on Peacock
Haha fair enough but it’s not really about their age as much as it is what they say. I mean, most announcers in general are gonna be older than recently retired players
Their NBA all-star announcement was so boring and dull.
They talk in depth when making fun of active NBA players
Peacock commentary is boring.
Yeah, Prime is the best by far
Agreed the color commentators are especially bad, particularly Robbie Hummel and Austin Rivers.
Can’t expect these companies to get decent commentators.
I think the NBA would benefit from making it possible to livestream games through their NBA platform, so anyone whose a member can dub over without any commentary and get viewership legally for any games watchable on their NBA+ subscription, and let you switch between them the same way you can switch between the which teams commentary feed you’re listening to. Then teams can sponsor some to let them post clips of their commentary/game feed to social media.
I also like the new coverage but this crew is way better than the usual ESPN trash
I like the balance.
The Prime crew has been crushing it as far as actually talking basketball and they can be entertaining. But I do love what this group brings to the table, I just don’t want it everyday.
NBC has been solid but I couldn’t care less about ESPN.
Edit: and just to be clear, when I say ESPN I mean the other guys. Not this crew.
Peacock is honestly awful. Prime solid though.
Nothing beats Eric Collins
Prime has been so refreshingly good, it’s made Peacock (who aren’t bad) look average, and the TNT crew look tired and irrelevant.
It’s wild they were perceived as the best sports show on TV until Chuck correctly predicted the Lakers wouldn’t do anything last season.
I kinda wish they just ended last year, go out with a bang. They were so refreshing in the era before social media and before social media dominated all sports discussion. Now their negativity just feels stale.
They should’ve retired 5 years ago. Held on too long.
Kenny complaining about working a couple days a week
But next week he will have to work 3 days! That is such a huge imposition that people don’t even understand.
HEAVY on the backend with that schedule.
Maybe they should take a hint? Shit I didn’t even notice they weren’t on air. Maybe analysts should analyze the games instead of spewing the same bullshit for engagement and self soothing their egos since newer players are just better than players of their generations.
As someone who has loved Inside the NBA and defended them a lot. I feel like TNT losing the rights and everyone clamoring for the show to be saved, inflated their egos way too much, to the point they felt (except maybe Ernie, I think he has always been very fair) that they could just talk trash and say whatever they wanted.
Like you said, I honestly didn’t feel a gaping hole I’m NBA coverage with them gone. So clearly they aren’t as indispensable as some people thought
I feel like people were sad at the prospect of losing Inside two years ago but by the time it actually happened last season most people stopped caring. Especially after what they did at the All-Star weekend and made it all about themselves. Last year’s All-Star Sunday wouldn’t have been that bad if they hadn’t kept stopping the play for commercials or another TNT tribute.
I’m one of those. I was initially sad to lose Inside, but the first Amazon show had me realize that I was missing Inside from years ago, and that the recent product sucked.
I was actually glad the show was ending on TNT. I have been watching inside the NBA since I was very young, even before Shaq joined the show, it peaked before he even got there. I felt it started declining with him there even though it still had its moments. I always liked when they rotated the 4th guest. Especially when it was Chris Webber, he was always hilarious on there. Much better in the studio than trying to be a color commentator. But the show definitely should have ended when the TNT contract ran out. We’ll always have the hilarious moments if we want to go back for nostalgic laughs.
They weren’t off the air for that reason so why are you saying that
They were talking bad. I forgot they were basketball “analysts”. Not who I go to for basketball coverage. great guys though. They can tell jokes over dinner and not waste airtime though.
true but its funny that anyone thinks “talking bad about players” would bother espn. perk and sas are on there everyday. its definitely related to ratings.
kenny making a big deal of working 3 nights, “we worked 3 nights in the week!!” Like bruh you’re getting paid millions to yap 3 nights is nothing
He said 14 hour days, so that’s a normal work week for most Americans
Unlikely, never have I seen Kenny have notes or things that he would be aware of. It’s as similar to a podcaster that had luck, there’s a lot of planning to be successful.
It’s not because their job is incredibly easy
They aren’t even actually working for 14 hours
You don’t cover the games like how it should be covered. You guys just say hot takes after hot takes. You shut the hell up
I mean this sub and the internet used to eat that shit up and they were winning awards despite knowing nothing about the league. Then everyone changed their tune last season it seemed like and now like actual basketball analysis
There were some funny moments for sure but let’s not act like people also didn’t criticize them for not watching nba games. Shaq and Barkley at one point admitted to not watching games. The problem is they went too far the other direction.
But this is reddit, its a hive mind. It looks like in this thread, the consensus is supporting these guys. Not gonna be scared to say it but I for one didn’t miss them at all. Dirk, Nash and co are doing a great analysis and would tune in to them 10⁄10
They had whole bits about not knowing basketball. “Who He Play For” was just Chuck being ignorant about the state of the league. I enjoyed a lot of their funny bits (including Who He Play For) but they had run their course, I was hopeful that they’d turn it over to some newer players and analysts. Pre-Lakers JJ and Richard Jefferson seemed like an easy choice to me, Blake has been solid, I think there’s plenty of newer guys that could take over and do a great job (just not Draymond).
It’s hilarious the turn for wanting real analysis then the most upvoted post is a Kendrick Perkins quote.
It happened exactly when Chuck made fun of Redick exactly the way he’s made fun of most everyone else, back when this sub was convinced he was the next great coach
It mainly came from JJ reddit criticising them for decreased ratings by being by negative about the product
This sub was full of lol Barkley funny! After making the same tired ass jokes.
Also, I remember the sub freaking out over the show being cancelled and a comment with hundreds of upvotes saying shit like “the nba won’t be the same” and “inside the NBA is my favorite part of the NBA” holy shit man
It’s literally the same 3 jokes that get repeated
Redditors love repeating jokes hence the Barkley love .
Inside is only funny furst 6 months of casual watchinh at max
I think it’s more about the Prime crew existing now. Part of the popularity for inside the nba was that you weren’t gonna get quality analysis from other notable outlets anyways (cough cough espn), so might as well watch them since they’re at least entertaining. Now they have legit competition (who provide quality commentary) so half-assing won’t cut it anymore
I think it’s just more people got on board with us haters of inside tbh. They got worse too
Because the alternative was ESPN.
Now we get to see what quality looks like from people who dont openly hate the product while not watching the games.
We give that grace to young analysts 🎩
That’s rich coming from someone on Reddit
Lotta haters in here. I still enjoy them.
This sub did a 180 on them once Chuck correctly said the Lakers wouldn’t fo anything last season.
He says that about the Lakers like every season though lol
And he seems to be right like every season
Ah understandable. hard for those fans to face the truth.
This sub hates the Lakers
same people hating probably loved their jokes for years
So funny seeing the reddit hive mind turn against them
I like Barkley and Ernie.
I stopped watching cuz shaq kinda ruins the dynamic of Ernie chuck n jet He tries to hard to be funny
I laugh just watching mumble mouth mumble his way through
They weren’t missed.
Its actually pretty funny, because so many were upset and supporting them when it was announced TNT was going away. Prime has crushed it, and now nobody cared about Inside anymore. I havent missed them at all either
Honestly, I didnt even realize they were gone
Tripping. The only pre or post game I watch.
Their show has been washed for years tbh. Completely devolved into ignorant old heads who knew jack about the league. Also, it’s not funny anymore and hasn’t been for a while.
Everything started going downhill when Shaq joined. He brings nothing but defensiveness to the basketball analysis and brings out the dumbest side of Chuck.
shaq is awful i really miss the original 3. He brings nothing to the show
Awards say otherwise
Didn’t they used to bitch about working too much and they aren’t watching the games
Hot take: I’ve missed these guys.
Inside NBA crew were ESPN-being-unimaginably-shitty-broadcasters merchants. And now that they are ESPN, there’s no where to hide.
I grew up watching these guys and my family all still loves watching them. But Amazon and Peacock have been miles better and it’s been really refreshing.
Not only do they insult the players but Shaq and Chuck in particular don’t even watch basketball games. They might as well start a highlights react channel cause all they do is react to the night’s highlights that they saw 5 mins ago
They’re literally laughing/joking about not watching games at the end of this clip.
They are far past their prime and less is better at this point.
Make the big ol San Antonio women joke again!! It’s so funny how they say the same joke for ten years!!!
Chuck losing years with LBs. Man lookin svelte.
The switch to ABC/ESPN has done them a disservice imo.
Ozempic Chuck looking good
‘Shut the f–hell up’ lmao
It would have been glorious if he said the whole word.
Tell em Chuck
TIL this sub has an ass backwards opinion on the inside guys.
Chuck look like he’s back in 93’ MVP shape!
Man lot of nephews in the comments today - absolutely hilarious to me that redditors who get all their bball knowledge from idiot YouTube streamers in their 20s think they know more about basketball than literal NBA champions and MVPs
Appeal to authority fallacy- just because Shaq and Chuck had successful NBA careers, doesn’t mean their analysis or opinions are worth a damn. Moreover, NBA fans disagreeing or not showing positive reception to their hating ass attitudes doesn’t mean they “think they know more about basketball”. Go watch some 90s, 00s highlights if you want to be stuck in the past like the Inside the NBA crew.
Wow and the world went on. Stay home boys and let someone else get paid to not watch ball
Anything is better than listening to Isaiah. Even, Shaq.
-every Knicks fan
Yea but the GLP-1 worked everyday. He’s gonna be looking like Al Roker pretty soon.
It’s messing with his speech also? Something seems odd about Chuck’s face
Is chuck on the ozempic his face looks thinner
Prime show is great though actual analysis even.
Love that Ernie has also just completely earned the right to complain like an old NBA veteran
Hopefully they’re off another 2 months when the playoffs come around… I’ve heard enough “back in my day” commentary from these fools to last a lifetime.
That weight loss shit makes people look weird.
He needs to stop lurking in social media and faking like he doesn’t care what people think
ESPN is dropping the ball with the former TNT crew, they should be on weekly and Shaqtin’s every week, not when ESPN feel like it.
Kind of felt sad when Ernie pointed out that they work when “the games actually mean something” meaning the playoff, not that it’s wrong per se but it feels disrespect full to all the players that get hurt during the regular season and all the effort that goes with it.
NBA on Prime is actually a better show.
What a waste of time it was to listen to this.
He didn’t say a damn thing.
There was no reason for you to be on for more than 1 hour a week because the best you can be is a meme with your “analyses” Chuck
Tell ‘em Chuck!
Talkin bout joe budden and his podcast
How things have changed ..They complain at the beginning of the season with the switch to espn about how much they were going to work. Trust me alot of viewers such as myself did not miss them
Everybody saying they don’t cover the game the way it should be covered. Should they be slurping luka as he stands around letting everyone by him and flailing at the refs all night?
Chuck was upset because he went to the bank and saw 2 months of paycheck missing?
GET EM CHUCK
Speak the truth!
God those guys just wouldn’t let him speak. And if you’re gonna interrupt him because what you have to say is just so important, maybe don’t lead with “we’re gonna be working heavy during the playoffs” as if having to work a “heavy” schedule in April will resonate with regular people for why they had almost two straight months off.
Chuck looks like young chuck
If you want comedy the foursome are the best…If you want real NBA news and serious updates go elsewhere of your choice
When they’re not the only basketball talk show we have, life is much better. Now that we have 3 instead of 1, i have no problems with the old men yelling at clouds because sometimes the clouds need to be yelled at.
Damn can we talk about the games?
He’s right about Christmas.
“We’re gonna be so heavy on the backend… we work three days next week”
If only
I like this tbh
Man the comments here feels like people have turned on this show
tell ‘em Chuck!
cancel the internet!
You should’ve worked on Prime
What does that mean?
Sac and New Orleans catching strays
Doubling down, yea that’ll work
Is he calling out Reddit? This is hilarious lol
They had the holidays off. Shut up Barkley, lol.
*yes, worked Christmas. But outside of that day, they had 2 months and enjoyed time with family
Make you the bed you lay, fuck yall
You got sidelined by every company that pays to advertise during an NBA game.
How does ESPN not see this as a problem? I’ve frankly given up on them. 3 different times on Wednesdays I’ve turned on ESPN and within a minute turned it off because Inside the NBA wasn’t on that week. And why the hell should I know they were on today? At least I am assuming that based on reddit posts. It isn’t like I don’t enjoy watching games either. I was watching the games on Prime last night.
I literally subscribed to Sling the last few years just for TNT to watch Inside the NBA. Other than during March Madness I knew I could tune in on Thursdays to catch them. Now that they are on ESPN, it is completely a crapshoot if they will be on or not.
Barkley’s welcome at my fire any time.
“You know them ugly women from San Antonio be BIG AS HELL”
Okay thanks Chuck we were talking about the Pistons and the Celtics, but thank you for your input.
