A couple games back from 2 seed despite Giannis missing last 2+ weeks of first season. Giannis then didn’t play in the playoffs. We got 1 real stretch for full MPG Khris with Giannis and Dame before KD stepped under Khris and hurt him again. Bucks went 13-1 over that stretch.

3 games back of the 3 seed the 2nd year despite Dame missing the final 31 games with blood clots and Bobby also missed 25 of those 31.

We then got 1 full game of Giannis and Dame in the playoffs over 2 seasons(first traction for Dame after 2+ months of inaction). Dame tearing his achilles obviously just ruined it all.

I got downvoted for telling them it was a horrible idea and will force Giannis’s hand about requesting a trade if it didn’t work, and that waiting 1 year then trading dam with a pick as an expiring would have been infinitely better than gambling it all on essentially having Miles cost superstar money.

Bucks fans wanted to believe that there was a move that would make a unfortunate injury not have negative side effects, there wasn’t and the FO chose the highest long term risk option rather than accepting they were about to be bad for 1 year before they could do anything about it.

If I’m not mistaken the largest contract before Dame to be stretched and waived was Batum by the hornets, who had a year and \(27 million or so left, which turned into \)8m/year over three years. Still a pretty bad hit but no the catastrophe that’s $120m over 5 years.
