Fuck em, I remember the Yankees stadium crowd chanting and cheering on Hurricane Harvey after like half the city was under water and many deaths occurred. I actually hope nothing but misfortune for that baseball franchise and their fans.

Honestly, is there a single team in the league that hasn’t had majorly impactful injuries to their most important guys this year? Struggling to think of any.
EDIT: I watched 2 games tonight (yeah Friday night goes hard over here) - the Suns where their #1 and #2 both got injured, and the Nuggets game where Jokic, Braun, Murray, Watson, Val, and Cam J were out with injury, and in that game both Giannis and Gordon re-aggravated injuries and had to leave.
My biggest worry is knowing that if this is a natural consequence of playing 82 games in the pace and space era, the league is going to stubbornly deny it until it’s gotten so bad that they basically can’t.

The modern game puts a lot more pressure on players, fatigue, the constant direction changes, the change of pace, the athleticism, every team running around like maniacs, blitzes, half-court pressures, lets foul every possesion because they can’t call them all defenses, and offensively the value of fastbreaks are higher, pace is a lot more important. And then they play 82 with b2bs and like 5 game weeks, then playoffs, then some play in the summer for the national teams, and over the years, I think it all adds up more and more.
Also moving hard screens that can get both parties injured.

Sprained ankles. Broken ones take 6-9 months of recovery, those end a season as early as October.
I’ve had to use crutches for an injury that only lasted like 2 days, but it was on my foot so I couldn’t really walk properly. Foot injuries, especially contact ones, can make you have to wear crutches even if it’s not a long term injury.
