[Highlight] Ayton throws down the absolute monster slam on the assist from luka
miscommunicAyton
Ayton and Luka Don’tclick
Ayton only clicked with CP3 and Booker tbh
Didn’t they ended up hating him??
I think they played despite not clicking
Ya the relationship with Ayton soured but he was at his best with that Suns team
Although that team was more stacked and well balanced than this Lakers team or Portland team that Ayton’s been on
I think they grow up hating him because this problems he is showing lately and has been more evidently by the years
How when Luka is a turnover machine?
pick and lol
Alley oops
All you guys were right about Ayton. Please get him off my team
Two fan bases tried to warn laker fans. It’s a shame, all that talent of his being wasted on his laziness.
I figured we would get “contract year effort” then someone else would overpay for him in the summer. Silly me.
I mean he looked good at the start of the season and then vibes went out the window for some odd reason.
He accepted his role early but then he doesn’t care for like one game and then he cares the next. Seems to be a guy that can only play well when things are going for him and zones out when he’s having a bad game.
I find it so funny that Blazers fans say this about Ayton when I was telling everyone it would be like this for us too (when we first got him) and everyone was in denial. Anyone who watched him on the Suns would know this is how he is
they still kept defending him, saying he’s better than anything they had at center since the bubble
I mean he IS. Our center position since then has been THAT fucking bad.
I knew the warnings. I thought “contract year” Ayton would’ve been a real thing
God fucking damnit lmao. Enjoy China big guy
The amount of pushback that came at people warning lakers fans yall kinda deserve it for a bit ngl 😭😭
Dont give up his potential is right there
He’s gonna have a good game on the next one and everyone will be back on praising him.
Nah you live with it
He’s on a vet min? They can just cut him if he’s a bum.
Yup, he’s super talented but has no heart, selfish player, thinks he’s better than he is
Say what?
People just giving up on a guy as he plays through injury. He didnt let an eye injury prevent him from getting on the floor.
He’s so lame man. Sets a half ass screen, doesn’t roll hard to the rim, and as soon as Zubac gets close he gives up. Avoids contact. Pretty much the story of Ayton’s career.
What sport do you think Ayton could thrive in ? I’m trying to think of a sport where it’s non contact and requires height.
Netball
Net ball would work!
specifically goal shooter, he doesn’t even have to move too far from the goal (cos he’d literally not be allowed to) lol
Volleyball?
I don’t know about volley ball. It’s really intensive and requires hustle and diving he doesnt have any of that in him and I think he would call it quits just banging his knees once
Middle blockers aren’t diving for shit, and that’s almost certainly what he would play.
I love volleyball and have played for years, but an NBA starter would fuck shit up. Budinger (who I know had a background in volleyball) quit the NBA and was in the Olympics for beach shortly after.
That’s underselling Budinger by quite a bit. He was the best high school volleyball player in the country, won 3 state championships in a row, and was the #1 recruit.
If you cant handle him at his worst (no hustle, soft, invisible) you dont deserve him at his best (no hustle, soft, made a couple shots).
honestly there are some games Ayton sits the entire 2nd half because of injury or eye poke, and i feel like they aren’t any worse. sometimes i wonder if Ayton makes them any better at all
You got me
You know what? I think this is the first time I’ve ever seriously said this, but I think Jokic could have done more with that lob than Ayton did here lmao.
Y’all bought into that?! -Ayton
Ayton-Luka disconnection. Pick and ROFL
How is Reaves a better playmaker when it comes to setting up Ayton compared to Luka, who has terribly chemistry with Ayton. Shit don’t make sense to me
Ayton doesn’t roll hard to the rim
I’ve seen him roll to the rim for lob dunks before from Luka. I think folks are just overreacting and Ayton simply wasn’t expecting it. It’s like the Chicago Bears situation where Moore wasn’t “running hard enough” supposedly but Moore didn’t think there the pass was coming because he was covered. Different angles have different perspectives. We get Birds Eye view, so we see everything develop.
I don’t know what play you’re talking about but even if you’re a decoy you’re supposed to run hard so you can open up the defense as much as possible
I know but still doesnt answer what I am asking yk. It seems like Ayton plays well with Reaves compared to Luka.
Reaves played earlier in the season when Ayton was pretending to care about basketball
Reaves has more aura.
Reaves usually drives further to where the second man has to help
Ayton is like the antithesis of a big that works best w/ Luka. Has the athleticism and wingspan to be a lob threat but no one has ever confused Ayton with being a rim runner.
Reaves hasn’t play in months.
Maybe it’s just sample size?
He’s probably not
Austin understands Ayton’s range better because he’s passing to help Ayton score. Luka uses his bigs to great space for him, so the trust isnt there. This builds the more that Luka doesn’t pass to his teammates.
Do you guys make up things for the sake of it or you actually enjoy those?
Ah yes, and this is why Luka made Dallas centers look like some of the best in the league.
Luka has his issues, sure, but you are absolutely insane to call him a bad playmaker or a bad passer. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/passing?dir=D&sort=PASSES_MADE
Even though he’s the #1 option for basically everything on offense, he still ends up near the top of the league when it comes to ball distribution.
That’s like saying Jokic doesnt pass to his teammates…
Dallas had it pretty much solved.
They just needed a reliable shooter, and they got Klay, which was seen as a possible final piece of the puzzle for Dallas to go from finalists to champions. But injuries happened, and for whatever reason they decided to nuke a team they had been carefully building for a few years.
Honestly, i still miss how Liveli and Luka played together. Gafford obviously was great but …. this…. It was such a promising duo and Liveli is such a young and passionate dude.
Best duo in the league
Trust the pass, Luka!
Lmao
The h in Ayton stands for hustle.
Commenting so i can show my friend at work tomorrow. Been tellin him ayton is garbage
Lmaooo man
Trust the pass
Is this the jerk sub? Y’all are some haters lol
Idk how I knew this was going to be a lowlight
Got to love seeing this failure of a team
(Almost)
Man you got me with the headline
/smh
Bro what was that half ass attempt to get to the rim
lol the fans were feeling themselves earlier this week against the raps. now against a 7fter he back to ass, trade, fire into the sun
He just suck whenever someone it’s stronger than him
I don’t think strength is the problem. In the worst case scenario, he gets blocked or doesn’t make the shot.
But there is nothing worse than setting up a play like a P&R and not following through with the plan.
Like, how can someone set a screen, run toward the rim, and then decide, “Actually, no…,” and proceed to do literally nothing?
This is something that would get you benched even in high school, let alone in the NBA. Calling a play and not following through is basically lying to your teammate.
how you supposed to get that pass?
by rolling hard to the rim, instead of giving half ass effort, as soon as you release from the screen. If he did he’d by right there to finish the lob
Jump
jump on Zubac? Thats a bad pass
He didnt roll hard enough and gave zubac opportunity to do that
the lob was bad. Yes Ayton didnt move enough but but the intention from luka was bad
That was an anticipation lob. Luka has been doing it his whole career. He is trusting that his center is going to roll hard to the rim. That pass was perfect for any rim roller that actually gives effort instead of the half assed effort that Ayton gave.
yes thats never Luka’s fault , understood
Luka has his faults. Especially tonight, but that play right there was not one of them. The ball was right there in a perfect spot for any rim roller that goes hard to the rim. I guess it was Luka’s fault for trusting that Ayton was gonna roll hard to the rim.
It wouldn’t be a lob if it was passed to the spot where Ayton is standing. He wouldn’t make the slam. I hope you understand that.
