A kid asked Jordan Poole what it was like to be punched by Draymond Green
worst possible time to cut the clip lol
It was tough, bro-
Immediate answer too lmao.
Love that honesty, Poole is actually chill and doesnt really dodge the hard questions
Such a chill and relatable answer lol, so real
You can be honest with kids, they understand.
Change that to you should be honest with kids.
Young kids are not great at adult sarcasm or jokes.
Best to be straight with them.
Whatever light jokes and sarcasm you do constantly, just don’t with kids.
I remember teachers being sarcastic with me when I was a kid. You can feel that it’s mean but you have zero ability to respond.
My dad was an ass to me growing up. Great father but a sarcastic fuck that absolutely loved fucking with me. Kinda gave me an edge in those scenarios ngl and it was fun to have that “control” at a young age.
Yeah listen to this guy but also don’t be afraid to have a little fun with them.
They pick up on playful sarcasm earlier than you might think, especially if they’ve seen it before. The earlier they learn what it is and how to use it themselves the sooner they can cope with adults being sarcastic with them. Note, I said playful sarcasm. There’s a difference between playful sarcasm and being a dick. Don’t be a dick to kids is the better advice here.
for reallll. i got a chill running down my spine when he said “its tough bro” when the kid asked how it felt like to get donkey punched by Draymond🥰
It’s like i was there, just living in the moment
Same, it’s like I could feel Draymonds fist entering me right then and there
….Go on
Poole was the sacrificial scapegoat donkey Draymond found his taste for blood from🩸
That was real AF. And I hope he gave those kids some wisdom.
Say whatever about his game. He was a professional through that situation. Really acted WAY above it.
D-do I like Jordan Poole now? wtf?
What’s not to like? He doesn’t play efficient, but his vibes are through the roof. Fuck Draymond.
Everything about that punch was weird. The Warriors making a bigger show of the leak than of the punch itself, Poole frequently called a bitch for getting sucker punched. That it was Draymond involved matters here perception-wise, I just can’t put my finger on why.
I lost a ton of respect for the organization as a whole, and Kerr in particular in that incident. You can’t get on a high horse and talk about morals and being a good person and then turn around and act like that. The whole, ‘it’s a different environment’ argument doesn’t work for me, either. I get that people will have fights. Not acceptable to handle it as an organization that way.
Especially since Kerr basically instigated it by telling Poole to shoot back at Draymond before the incident.
Are you a baddie?
Honeyyy, I see youuuu, loookin’, at meeee
Dude is the biggest animal nerd lol was so unexpected
He is? Between watching him improve from “the worst player in the league” (overblown at the time imo) and his love of cats, I didn’t think he could endear himself any more. I can’t believe I never knew that about him, as a huge animal nerd myself lol
He’s also like a huge architecture and photography dude. When I found out he was from the Midwest a lot of his personality clicked for me lmao
He is also the founder of the “Secret Society of NBA Cat Dads”
In all honesty, an incredibly likeable dude
He rizzed you up
He did and was even when Green was acting like a child and org was silent. Warriors should have used that moment to blow it up and reset around Curry with Poole and Wiggins. While trading Green and Klay for whatever they could get. That was time to move on from the old guard.
So refreshing to hear this from a Warriors fan.
People clown Poole all the time now, but for real I think that incident really affected him. And I personally have nothing but respect for how he handled it - full on was the grown up in the scenario, which is not what you’d expect from someone his age or on court persona. And especially compared to everyone else in the situation; so many professionals with incredible accolades just seemingly not giving a shit at ALL.
I also think its something to note that up until that point Poole was getting better and better each season; growing and making smarter decisions. It seemed like having a mentor like Steph was perfect for someone with his talent but ‘penchant for the absurd’ (for lack of a better description). I also fucking loved Wiggins, and I really wish we got to see the version of the Warriors you’re referencing.
Draymond, on the other hand, has made me lose what respect I did have for him totally and completely. My daughters favorite player is Steph, since she was little, and I used to always love watching Warriors games with her - Draymond was Draymond, but it was what it was. The last few years, specifically since that incident, he just seems completely unhinged to me
Draymond exhibits a lot of behaviour on the court that makes me seriously question how he acts in his personal life behind closed doors. Poole albeit arrogant under no circumstance deserved to be punched. I do feel for him and can’t imagine how that would affect your team mate relationships going forward
That whole fiasco made me dislike how GSW handled it tbh
Everyone on the team blamed everyone but Draymond who literally did the thing that was controversial
The dude was a professional in general his entire time with the Warriors. I don’t really remember anything controversial he did off-court. In the media clips I saw of him when the team went sightseeing, he seemed like a chill guy. It’s like the opposite of his enigmatic play on the court sometimes
Absolutely. But I bet he had more to say, and I would have liked to have heard it.
He just talked about how Dray was a gay, little mommy’s boy and he could catch hands anytime he didn’t want to be a sucker punchin bitch.
The kids were all like, “Fuck ya!”. Super inspirational.
True, dodging is not something Poole is known for.
It’s honestly an amazing response all thing considered and really endearing and I don’t like Poole
He knew it was coming 😂
I mean it kinda looks like he’s spent meaningful time around kids before lol it just happens and you’ve gotta be decided on whether you’re a bullshitter or straight shooter (both valid approaches to interacting with kids imo)
Yeah good call, looks like he’s spent enough time around kids to know that they could ask anything at anytime. He wasn’t phased or surprised by the question at all.
Also i think he knew the kid was genuinely asking, and wasn’t trying to bust balls. The kid really wanted to know what the fuck that must have felt like.. to have your own teammate throw hands in a freaking practice
yeah it was clearly a kid genuinely being curious about it. I hated poole on the warriors but the way he was treated by the entire org during that and how he handled it has made me respect him a lot.
It really is funny how honest kids are
Unlike the punch…
It’s pretty stupid people make fun of him for getting sucker punched by a teammate…
People go to jail for way less than what Draymond did. Legitimately shouldn’t be in the league god he sucks
Hindsight 20⁄20
We all saw it. I was just hoping it wouldn’t happen
Oh my-
I watched the full clip on Vine. He says “It’s tough bro, I’ll show you how it feels.” Then he rocked the kid.
The worst part though, is that the mom broke the code and leaked this video.
NTA, kid FAFO
NOR, solid response and reaction.
“Your punch your rules”
Had us in the first half
bro no he didnt vine doesnt exist anymore
Had us at “I watched”
Coming up on a decade that it’s been dead
“I’ll show you why my name is Jordan.”
Fuck them kids
- Lacari
Then the school principal complained that the video leaked instead of addressing said punch
Bruh
Surely was a teacher immediately putting their phone down, apologizing to Mr. Poole, and possibly explaining to the kid how that’s not an appropriate/nice question. Sitting there silent holding up the phone to film the response would have been kind of rude.
Nah that was a draymond green who put the phone down
Draymond Green fouled her but the ref didn’t notice smh
Are we sure that Draymond didn’t sucker punch the person holding the phone?
Teacher knows the code
Have to put down the phone as Draymond is waiting outside the room.
Plot twist: It was the teacher who told the kid to ask the question.
You can hear the teacher say “Oh my…” just as the video cuts off
i mean it wasn’t a disrespectful or inappropriate question for a kid to ask. it’s a good opportunity to educate kids on sportsmanship and behavior. no reason IMO to react like the teacher did
respects for the immediate answer though, didn’t even need to ummmmm
He answered that more directly than I answer non difficult questions on a daily basis
Honestly if that was his whole response, that’s perfect
It was tough bro
r/killthecameraman
“What clip?”
- Steve Kerr
Kids are brutal. They have zero inhibition lol
He sounded genuinely curious too lmao
He doesn’t know anyone that got punched in the face or the kid trying to figure out if he could whoop his ass for Poole.
Exactly! That sort of shit is relevant to children, more so than his peers.
Don’t forget your childhood bully and how he made you feel.
A tiny bit of empathy and perspective from an adult whom you, might idolize, can do wonders for a kid‘s self esteem!
We all wonder this same question we just would never ask lmfao
Sometimes it’s the dumb as shit + zero inhibition.
I always remember this time, a speed drawing artist came to our highschool.
So he’s wowing the whole hall with his drawing skills. Then he made the unfortunate decision to end the whole performance with a Q&A.
One kid:
Can you like, draw fast?
Speed drawing artist:
… What have I been doing for the past hour?
“I mean I GUESS you could call that fast…”
Kid didn’t have the chance.
One of the teachers yelled:
BARRY WHAT A STUPID QUESTION THAT IS.
And then after the artist left. She goes up there and reprimands the whole hall.
So there must have been multiple stupid questions. I just don’t remember what the other ones were.
But why male models?
When I was a kid, we corresponded via mail with a soldier in Iraq. Once he came home, he came and visited my 6th Grade classroom to speak with all the students with whom he was pen pals. First question:
“Did you ever get to kill anybody?”
I mean, shouldn’t there maybe be a little more awareness by sixth grade?
Depends on the kid and intent, could be genuine or trying to stir the pot
Yes and no that’s a weird age limit there with varying levels of maturity and kids pushing boundaries to see what they can get away with.
Kind of depends? You’re still at that age where the military is out there killing bad guys and are just heroes a lot of the time. Question can seem pretty innocuous
The kid was prob the best person to ask. Learning about life and shit I guess.
“look at that high waisted man he’s got feminine hips!!”
That kid prolly on this sub
no way the kid even was old enough to remember this, some adult or older person in his life told him to ask
That r/NBA user got lucky to meet 2022 NBA Champion, Jordan Poole
Kids in his class call him an oldhead
Old poopy head*
MITWestbrook sitting in the back unimpressed
They seemed like the older and more mature Warriors fans that knew Poole’s contribution to our championship
Which one of you was this?
It’s OP, I just can’t prove it
OP is Jordan Poole?
Ordan Poole
Average CJ mod
This kid is way too old to be on this sub
Actually such a genuine and admirable way to respond to that kid. Every time I see clips of Poole he comes off as very likable.
Because he genuinely is. I miss that dude.
Yeah I’m not a fan of his style of play on the court but he’s still a seems like a great guy
One person didn’t find him likeable at all
Thats because that one person is one of the least likeable guys on the globe, so that makes sense
He was well liked in Golden State by his team mates and fan.. shit changed quick when he got laid out
its tough, lil bro. honestly a class answer.
Yea instant response as well. Respect
Class recognizes class 👏
Jordan Poole - “Let me show you.”
“Nothing personnel, kid”
Damn she immediately cut it off and trey tried not to laugh lmao
She had to cut the clip short as Poole’s next words were “lemme show you how it felt lil bro”
Asking the hard-hitting questions
Yep that was indeed the caption
boom-tish
He Deadass should show this video to legacy media companies in 20 years lol. It might genuinely help him get a job
That’s what journalism used to be smh
Imagine that kid asking Trump a tough question and then Trump sues him for a billion dollars.
Lmao damnn
I’m fucking dying lmaooo kids have 0 filter, I love the teachers “oh my g” before cutting the clip
I wonder if the kid actually has no filter or an older sibling told them to ask it? Kid looks young and that was over 3 years ago. Would they remember?
“I swear to g-“
Holy shit the balls on that kid 😂
kids have little to no filter gotta love it
kids are honest, they’ll tell you like it is
This kid asked my cousin straight up why he (my cousin) had a birth mark lol. Gotta love it.
kid doesn’t even understand what he’s asking tbh, someone put him up to it
I know clipping it makes it funnier but I wanna see his full response. Didn’t seem like he took it that harshly.
That is the full vid lol. The person recording is the kid’s mom and she cut it there because she was shocked her kid would just ask that. If I had to imagine, they probably just laughed it off at the end and changed topics immediately lol
Fair enough, wish the kid’s mom didn’t stop recording after that.
I bet it hurt.
Give that kid a job at ESPN
Children never disappoint when you want to hear the real truth.
That’s probably a Draymond fan asking.
Notice he named almost all the main guys other than Green
jordan poole is a core piece on a championship team but he well be remember by that green punch, that’s tough
how did this kid know to ask this lol had to be 1 year old at the time
forreal some adult or older sibling put him up to it
The audio when it cuts out 💀💀
Trey Murphy knew the question was a spicy one and he came out of nowhere 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What Dray did was unforgivable. But this is also why the leak was awful.
Without the leak, Dray would have been silently suspended and this wouldn’t be a topic for Poole to deal with for so long.
I feel really bad for Poole to keep getting defined as the guy who got punched instead of the elite 6th man who won a ring.
Steve Kerr was correct. The leak fucked over Poole firstly, fucked over the team’s ability to do anything about it, all for feeding the drama machine.
It’s like sharing a video of your worst fight with your partner on the news and expecting the couple to move on. The fight was bad enough, making it public didn’t help any party
ok now write 5 paragraphs about why Draymond doing it in the first place was bad
But would Draymond have been suspended though?
i agree but i honestly think the organization’s handling of the situation is what made it 10x worse. the optics of it made it seem like they took draymond’s side and then shipped off poole
They didn’t make it seem like that, that’s literally what happened, they took Draymond’s side and trade Poole
lol yeah
Bro i understand bias and rooting for your team but brain not working because of bias is insane
Even if it the video doesn’t get leaked the punch would still be leaked it’s an NBA practice with many players, staff, coaches, random workers who are there, someone always leaks, talks to their agent, friend
Even if there was no video same shit happens, there’s no video of Steve Kerr getting punched, it’s still remembered 40 years later
At least most of us still remember the Poole Party and 2022 run
Draymond is a piece of shit. Glad to see the karma the Warriors are finally getting and hope they’re a poverty franchise for a long time once Steph retires.
LOL he has a thing on his nose which is kind of ironic
Pool’s response immediately earned my respect and I hope he has a great career. What a mature way to respond.
Get this kid a podcast. Asking the real questions
The oh my god no 💀💀💀
i feel the fact a kid asked is what helped him be so honest about it
poole seems chill
Poole reminds me of the dude from Abbott elementary
Zack Fox?
I know the video cuts out, but honestly I’m gonna give Jordan some props. Man wasn’t even phased at the question. He probably expected it, but from the little we saw, he handled it really well
lol he answered so fast too
Didn’t even hesitate to answer, like he’s expecting the question.
Quick thinking. Good job Jordan.
“YOU WANNA KNOW HOW IT FEELS??”
Poole such a chill dood
Trey Murphy is not 6’8”. Yesterday after our game he was talking with Cade who’s 6’6” and they looked the same height, and now here he only looks a little taller than Poole, who’s 6’4”
That kid is meant to be a reporter lol
This kid a real journalist
He handles it well
That kid is a better journalist than anyone at a top network.
Even the teacher recording knew lil man was absolutely foul. Love pooles response tho. “It’s tough. Bro”
So yay we get to hear the kid ask the question, but not the response wtf.
Cool response tho
Trey Murphy has that look on his face like he knows whats coming
That kid will make a legendary journalist.
Kids are some of the worst people on the planet man.
Asking the real question.
Good job Kid!
2022 Warriors should’ve kept Poole and traded Draymond
And then what happens to the defense? It was 1st in 2022.
Shoutout Wiggins btw- Poole + Wiggins taking on Japan is one of my favorite NBA-adjacent videos
did that mom tell her kid to ask that?
if so, that’s so trashy
Good question!
That kid’s a legend.
oH My GaD
it’s tough
Kids Say the Darndest Things
Lmao
I love kids lmaooooo
Kid is a better journalist than 99 percent of the current NBA journalists
That is a terrible thing to ask Jordan. Draymond is obviously abusive. Might be a good person on lots of levels, but he is also abusive. Jordan got victimized. This sort of stuff helps no one.
These are the people I argue with in this sub 💀
Trey trying not to laugh
Alright which one of you asked that question?
Props for being so daring
Lmaoo
Kids got a future in journalism
Average warrior fan age
hoooneeeey
Kid:
I got you fam, he’s on my shitlist
Answered the question like he respected what the kid was doing. Thumbs up to both of them.
Bro’s legacy is getting assaulted by Draymond
