My hot take is that this is best season of his career despite the team record because he has shoulder a big load and still been a very good on the defensive side of the ball

His January averages have been 24.2 points, 5 assists, 8 rebounds with 50/40/77 splits from the field

Would be a surprise if he doesn’t make the all star team and maybe with a better team record, a push for third team all nba would be in the cards

Watched the Pacers go on a dreamlike run where one of my favourite Raptors ever could’ve won FMVP and a 2nd ring, on one of the most impressive team-wide titles of the century.

Just to watch the Blue Jays go on a dreamlike run months later and also lose a game 7 World Series.

Both losing to the boring, severely overhyped but expected champions.

There is a chance he still makes the All-Star team even if the Pacers are sitting at the bottom of the standings. A lot of it will probably be due to the coach voting and the league’s shift to more “hardworking” and “team-ball” branded players.

I’m not expecting it but I wouldn’t be surprised if its a coach vote or an injury replacement purely because his brand image is the strongest it has been since 2019-2020 Raptors where he finished top 10 in MVP voting and the sudden culture shift in the NBA for cleaner and team-oriented players.

Lowkey agree, this is the most complete version of him we’ve seen. The jumper finally being real plus the defense holding up while carrying that usage is huge.

Only thing working against him is record and guard/wing logjam in the West, but if coaches are actually watching the games he should be in for sure.

Hard to argue. He’s been ultra-efficient while carrying a huge offensive load and still defending at a high level. Those numbers are absolutely All-Star level, so I’d be more surprised if he misses than makes it. MVP is unlikely without elite team success, but with a better record he’d be firmly in the All-NBA conversation, especially third team.

Siakam has had 2 seasons of around this level of production where he didn’t make the All-Star team.
