[Highlight] Ja Morants final 3 pointer is no good as the Hawks defeat the Grizzlies
Actually fucking stupid to not call TO. Do we have a coach?
They only had 6 seconds to go the length of the court I have no idea why your coach didn’t call the time out. Saving them for next game?
Maybe he worried Hawks would sub out CJ and Luke? But I agree, should have called a timeout
He knows the tank is on…
If he had made the shot, people would’ve said good thing they didn’t call timeout and allow the defense to get set.
If I’m coaching the defense, I’ll live with that shot every day. He’s gonna hit that like 5-10% of the time.
Im so tired of watching coaches try to 200iq a last shot attempt by not calling a timeout. Spurs have lost like 3 games like that.
Yah you fired him last year remember.
Ja didn’t take advantage but I will say that we had CJ and Luke out there. Call a TO and they’re getting replaced with Dyson and either Koloko or Keaton depending on what Quin wants since Onyeka fouled out
Memphis would’ve got a better shot up if they immediately called one of their timeouts as soon they got the rebound.
Coach is saving them for next game, smart move
I don’t think they’re gonna need them for their next opponent.
Lol didn’t even realise you guys were next, moveable object 🤝 stoppable force
trade in your two unused timeouts at the local Applebee’s and get a free appetizer!
The Eberflus special
Starting to think ja might have had a point with the whole coach being the problem thing
Can’t be worst than fizdale right?
I would kill for a take that for data moment right now
I’ll never forgive him for smiling being down 38 to the bucks
I’ve been noticing more coaches not calling timeout for the final play and preferring their chances with the defense not set. I wonder what the stats are on final possession conversions with timeout vs. no timeout.
For 100% transparency, this is just from a quick google search and copy+pasted from the shitty google AI, so it could be way off but..
“Based on NBA analytics studies and data analysis, not calling a timeout on final possessions is often statistically superior, with teams scoring more frequently (approx. 53% vs 35.7%) than when using a timeout. While timeouts help set up specific plays, they often allow defenses to reset, resulting in lower points per possession (0.773 with timeout vs 1.06 without). “
If you watch a lot of the Nuggets games, you will see that Jokic often wants to run the last play without a time out, often resulting in a good offensive scramble with players cutting to the basket and in turn giving Murray more room to get open with defences having to follow the cutters or give up the easy layup
Holy shit JJJ literally WALKED and caused Ja to get doubled.
They didn’t even have someone open even though Ja got doubled.
This is 90% on JJJ.
Yeah but apparently all of our fans on reddit would rather move forward with the coach who knows nothing about when to call timeouts. He usually runs out of them in the third but here he didn’t use one in the most obvious situation to use one.
While also running with JJJ as our new franchise player so he can be benched for fouls half the game and fail to rebound or do anything worthwhile the rest of the time.
Did you see jjj also blatantly tackle the guy to stop him getting the board lol,
It’s not. 😂 they tried to run a fast break while all 5 guys are back. It’s 99% on the coach
You gotta call a timeout there i feel.
You have two timeouts and that’s what you go for?
They were saving them for later /s
Iisalo is really awful yet Ja gets the blame, typical media bullshit
[deleted]
Ja is a knucklehead but bro knows ball
Should have called a timeout.
Only reason you don’t is if you can get to the rim in transition before the defense is set.
They could have got better shot than that out of a timeout.
Shit like this is why Ja dosnt wanna play for this coach
Yall know players can call timeout too, right?
Players can choose to do a lot of things on their own volition, but the choice of calling a TO down 2 or 3 in the final possession is left up to the coach 99% of the time
r/NBA’s 12⁄25
If someone posts the Ja and Mo Gueye push and shove it will be…
More on coach than him imo
Ugh, tough loss
Yes but wouldnt a TO advance the ball?
Saving the timeout for next game lmao
One of those timeouts actually quantum tunneled their way back to our game against them, they clearly needed it then
memphis now has two hypothetical game winners on their resume
Can’t help but wonder why JJJ just lazily strolled up on the left side after Morant. No run ahead to set up a screen, instead he just trails and stops at the 3-point line after the play. So much more Morant could have done there instead of a fadeaway 3.
Probably expecting the timeout like everyone else in the building
They do have a timeout, decided not to use it…..
Ja Morant, way downtown…. Boing! Boing!
