I am not Suns fan, but I am happy that Devin Booker seems to be having fun again.

He is one of the few stars in the NBA that endured constant coaching changes, bad ownership with Sarver, constant drama with CP3, KD and Ayton, and yet he still with the Suns after all these years.

Dillon Brooks really seemed to ignite their competitiveness and camaraderie too.

Jordan Ott is a really good coach

I really like their point guards, even their 2-way guy Jamaree Bouyea. Williams being healthy and Brooks elevating his game are pretty key too.

They actually have a team and not just a bunch of names thrown together.

I love those moments when all the “idiotic, you don’t know ball” shit and downvotes I was getting for months for stating results of teams with “superstars”, and being sceptical about their extremely game-changing nature through high boxscore alone, get warranted lol. And NBA delivers those plenty in those years.

Suns being so much BETTER after that “robbery” trade, without Jalen “worse Bradley Beal” Green yet too, is just chef’s kiss. It could really make people think how they imagine basketball results get made. It likely won’t lol. But it could.

If you’d have told me Jalen Green was out for that long, I’d have believed the predictions.

That’s the biggest thing. On paper, the pre-season predictions always felt low. They were adding two starters from last season’s 2 seed to All-Star, does-whatever-you-need-him-to Booker and a high upside if fragile center in Williams. That always had the potential to do well if things aligned.

But doing it without the biggest piece of the Durant trade and with basically no contribution from the rookies is such a compliment to Ott getting the best out of pieces that definitely weren’t playing at this level the last two seasons.

Not a Suns fan - they have been surprisingly good. Good for them and their fans, after some disappointing seasons with an expensive core 3.
