Bossing is by far the worst content in the game. I really dislike the damage reduction, phasing and cheap one shot mechanics if you are not running an 15k es build.

I did 4 total runs of trialmaster, got a jewel on 1st and 4th run which sold unidentified for a total of 7500 divs. Now I have more economy than I ever had in any season.

Each run took an average 15 mins so 1 hour total. I don’t regret a second of it lol.

Still, it was maybe the most boring one hour. Especially that floating statue thing really needs to see a 300% speed boost.

XP penalty for dying, combined with their need for one-shot mechanics because of inability to balance defences, means you only ever want to delete them as fast as possible.

The penalties for mistakes means there’s nothing like the joy of the challenge you get in Souls-likes, which is funny since this was meant to be one of their inspirations for POE2.

And yes, they feel like a waste of both time and fragments/keys necessary to access them.

The only exception is Zarokh from ToS. This dude is actually nice to farm. Diamond on every kill (which can be quite expensive depending on the rolls) and a chance for last flame that is ultimate jackpot.

Not at all. The drop rates are very bad. I would have probably gained the currency needed for my upgrades by selling the splinters and fragments used on the bosses.

It’s not quite the same but I’ve been farming Atziri for most of the league. You get a 200d drop every 1 in every 10 so the loot isn’t so bad but good lord, you have to watch SIX cutscenes per temple and it adds so much time and frustration to each run.

Yeah bosses with too much RP are a chore to do multiple times. King in the Mist with his labyrinth and taking ages to transform are annoying.

Farming the boss splinters is the real content. You get map diversity, huge returns on investment, and chumps with more temple money then sense can farm the bosses for their 1% chance drops so I don’t have to

I like doing Xesht, breach is fun and you get the loot from the lead up to sort of offset the fact that the drop rates suck for pinnacle bosses. Xesht and the Twisted Domain are my favorite things aesthetically in this game as well so that helps. 

Everything else is either too unrewarding or just a garbage fight to me so I don’t really do them beyond the first clear for atlas points. 

Expedition boss is so fast its like spinning a slot machine hoping you hit 3 oranges. I love it but im out of currency

I enjoy fighting bosses simply for the spectacle. But i also don’t use builds that blow them up in 1s, so there’s that. Bossfights have always been something i enjoy in games.

As for rewards, i have to kinda agree, but it also kinda has to be like that? The really good drops need to be rare, otherwise they’re not rare/fancy, need to involve some sort of secondary rng to differentiate good and bad ones, or they would have to do the whole MMO bs of pity rewards (like splinters) that eventually form into a guaranteed “rare” reward. But i personally have come to despise that sort of system, so i would prefer if we don’t get that in PoE.

But anything you farm for 100+ times is gonna become boring sooner or later.

I like simulacrum. You stay and fight waves of monsters, peak content for ARPG.

I enjoy farming arbiter the most out of all bosses after trying farming them 50x each, the diamond drop just hits different.

Ya they need to buff drop rates from pinnacle bosses. The only one I enjoy is zarokh with relic for atleast guarantee of ATD (mostly it’s just avt rolls) but even that has become quite expensive since the shadow nerf to vase drops :/

Absolutely not. The fact that you just get crap loot most of the time is ridiculous.

This is probably one of poe2s most ironic points currently, it was supposed to make “one on one” combat be more viable, bosses being a big part of that. Even so bossing and especially bossfarming viability/capabilities are so much higher in poe1 currently lol.

Also bossing is never really “consistent” profit outside some edge cases like early league ubershaper in poe1, its always go minus until you hit enough variance to go profit so “15 deliriums” isnt much either.

Its always funny to me that people rage over shit single target dmg of a build and then proceed to spend 1% of their playtime fighting bosses.

In most cases, its cheaper to hire a dedicated boss killer than upgrade your build towards single target and surviving the one shots.

I would do more bosses it entry wasnt so god damn expensive relative to what you get.

You pay a couple div to fight Xesht for a 0.1% chance to make it out with bank. Now to be fair, that bank is a jewel worth thousands of divines but still, the drop rate is so unbelievably low you just cant target farm it without wasting hundreds if not thousands.

It will never not be repetitive, just impossible design wise.

Poe2 bosses are much better than poe1 bossing though, since poe2 bosses are all pretty fast to do, with very little (comparatively) RP and immunity phases. Imagine doing 100 Shapers, holy shit.

I love this game and a lot of the changes since the launch of EA. But one that I do not like is putting a boss in EVERY map. Boss encounters don’t feel that special anymore. Which is a shame because the boss design in this game is really good compared to some other ARPG’s.

Yeah for me it’s worked. Idk how to build my temple so just farmed atziri. Got 3 regalia’s so far but kinda gambled one instead of just taking the W and selling. Also gamble the earnings for the 2nd one. That along with fracture orb farm/ritual/abyss/expedition has made a decent amount

Nope that to me outside of expedition is the first thing that needs an overhaul next patch as It’s some of my favorite things to farm in poe1

No, drops are awful. Almost all of no good drops.

In 0.3 I killer ritual boss for maybe 60 times and xsesht for 100 times. I haven’t seen anything worth time I spent.

On my main, I run boss tablets with the “+% xp from boss” affix. That plus irradiated and abyss or ritual +% xp tablets and the +50% xp from bosses on the atlas helps beef up the leveling slog trying to get to 100. I generally dislike bossing and really hated when they added bosses to every map. I still don’t prefer it, but if I have to deal with it every map, gimme that increased xp. My main build is slow, so I’m not really doing breach or deli with her, so adding the boss tab seems worth it.

Bossing is something I have enjoyed but not because it’s particularly enjoyable as an activity. Boss arenas don’t have ground debris that fucks me. My first build was storm wave and every fucking pebble completely stops my ability. It’s killed me more than shroudwalker.

Not really. Or at least, currently. But I hope over time, the bossing aspects of POE2 make doing so worthwhile.

I enjoyed farming Xesht when Breach Frags were cheap. First season where I felt like I got ahead. 300 exalts for 2 runs, getting a 35 div drop item every 8-10 or so runs I think? That same item (Uul-Netols or whatever) is now worth over 100 Div lol and Breach Frags are waaayy more expensive.

I enjoyed that, especially because the currency was helping empower my build so I could go back in and feel myself getting stronger. I don’t really know how bossing can be improved tho if I’m being honest. Like, what else can bossing be exactly?

I feel the absolute same. I do a boss three times and then it becomes really repetitive.

It’s interesting to me how often I read “just farm xyz” as advice in currency threads. I always feel like these people that suggest that don’t understand that it’s not “normal” to enjoy doing the same thing 100 times in a row. Or maybe I am not normal for hating that. I don’t know. It would be interesting to be able to do a poll on that to see how the majority of the playerbase feels about repeating repetitive content.
