I have been farming for this for so long…
Seriously question, how did you get this gif to work? I followed your format shown in reddit source, with a gif on giphy and it won’t post.
My condolences.
This hurts to watch.
RIP 🪦
Even that oracle node for chance to not die wouldn’t have helped against the BS that is the honor system.
Honour resist would. I am kinda puzzled about the whole ordeal - if OP is a glass cannon, there’s no way Zarokh could do anything to them - he folds like wet tissue against damage-focused builds…and if not, losing that much honour en route doesn’t make much sense either.
Honour loss deaths generally don’t happen to anyone seriously farming Sekh, ever. It’s a thing usually indicative of an irritable extra-casual player who can’t be bothered to do a little prep and press roll dodge occasionally.
Well OP hid the life, but chat log doesn’t have ‘has been slain’ so they died to honour damage. Which like you said is just strange because with 75% resist he just tickles.
Maybe he foolishly picked (or was forced to pick) the affliction that removes 5% honor on hit. Zarokhs chain lightning spam can hit pretty fast
Yeah, glass cannon sekh is even easier than tank, as you can just oneshot Zarokh before he does any mechanic at all, or at the very least phase him instantly.
He’s much less BS now that they corrected him having double his intended HP lol
Honour resist would.
No, this is the classic reddit “in a vacuum” response to anything related to Trials, no offense. It just doesn’t always work/isn’t always enough.
When I did Trials on my Blood Mage the other day, it took me 2 runs to complete because the first one completely and utterly fucked me on RNG in every possible way. Mind you, I have 80% Honour Resist (+5% max) and max Honour stacked and my character isn’t squishy at all, this is the build if you’re interested. I can literally tank a slam from a level 81 quadrilla boss without problem (Edit: In case you think I’m bullshitting: https://i.imgur.com/mjW3oVR.mp4). I’ve been doing Trials for quite some time now, and other than to terrible RNG, I’m not failing them anymore. Same goes for Ultimatum.
That said, the first run gave me all sorts of shit debuffs, ranging from Enfeeble to reduced max Honour to reduced effect of relics to single merchant items to cannot see ahead etc. To add insult to injury, I was constantly getting mini lag spikes. One of the worst runs I ever had. Not only that, but on the final stretch, literally 1 room before Zarokh, I got a debuff that removed all my Armour and had some bullshit mobs (the little cloaked assholes that use Incinerate or w/e) off-screen nuke my remaining ~2k Honour down to a whopping 34 (yes, literally). And guess what, the build also dies without Armour, as in literally kills itself. I logged out out of frustration and abandoned the run on the next login because it was impossible to defeat Zarokh with 34 Honour and a debuff that’d make me kill myself.
On the other hand, the second run was almost the polar opposite. I had a few bullshit calls, but overall, for most of the run I was pushing through with 7k max Honour. I got the dagger for more damage, no lag spikes, scout room ahead, extra golden keys, several good boons and minor debuffs that didn’t matter too much, etc., and I made it to Zarokh in one clean swoop and absolutely wrecked his ass in round 1 (didn’t even have to do the time trial, as I recall) to compensate for the lost run.
And that is exactly what I hate about the Trials and why I can relate when people say they hate the RNG of it. People always ignore that part in their response and just go “it’s RNG, but you can do it if you know what you are doing”. Yeah, it has RNG, but that’s not the end-all-be-all answer. I’ve had runs where I got the worst of the worst on literally the first rooms, sometimes in the middle or towards the end. Due to the absolutely asinine combinations you can get, it makes the Trials feel like an all or nothing mechanic. Steady progress is a lie, as it can waste all of your time invested and make you end up with nothing.
The Trials imo need a serious look at mod combinations, introduce some sort of saving grace/reroll mechanic, in order to offer a form of steady power progression. Keep the shitty ones for the extra spicy Trials that people pay big money for. It is then earned.
Trials just need a bit of planning in run
Never go to room which locks you into one path, never take afflictions who affect your ability to choice rooms, and you’ll be alright.
It is very hard to get really bad afflictions when you know what you are doing
This is just skill issue, respectfully. You can choose your path you know. Always choose paths with least affliction, never take unnecessary afflictions (pacts to kochai), I see new players fell to this trap a lot. Don’t take afflictions even if it doesn’t affect you so that it can appear again that you can get that less bad affliction later.
That’s bullshit, respectfully. If I have to pick between 3 afflictions, which I also had to, then I will pick the ones I can handle. I can’t directly influence what I get when the choice is already made for me. That’s the whole point. Sometimes, a bad run is just a bad run, and you get nothing for it but your time and barya wasted. Of course, when all you do is run Sanctum with a Sanctum runner build, you get responses like yours. I play a wide range of builds, and the Trials vary in how bad they are for each build.
Edit: I also always love these responses such as “skill issue”, when I managed to survive over 18 minutes of fighting Zarokh back during EA release day when he still had broken ES and I was trying to bruteforce a Warcry only build. I only failed because I had multiple debuffs that gave me less damage and others that buffed his eHP:

Unless you can manage to fight this guy for 18 minutes straight, you don’t get to tell me about “skill issue”. And no, you don’t need to mock me for it, either, I can be stubborn when I want to be. I simply refused to throw in the towel.
In general, if you just break down the mods, you will see how bad they are as a whole. Ultimatum suffers from the same problem. Just the other day, I had the choice between 40% reduced Recovery, 40% less Defences or 50% less AoE. All 3 of which completely fuck my build. And that was in the middle of the run. Ultimatum and Sekhema should be optional aspirational content for the masochists who enjoy hard content with appropriate rewards and who enjoy playing certain builds only. For everyone else running normal builds, they are just a massive pain in the ass.
I managed to get this twice now (once in 0.1 and once in 0.3). Never was it worth a mirror when I sold it. In 0.1 it was a duper’s paradise, so the price wasn’t as high and I don’t know about the price on 0.3.
Pretty sure it’s still not worth a mirror but like 1500 divines. Maybe I’m wrong though and it’s higher now than last I checked.
Last flame is 3 mirrors this league
It’s 3 mirrors.
Congrats on dropping ince … Oh
F
Congrats…oh noes.
You could’ve asked me for a Vaal orb.

Happens to all of us. Tbh its crazy that after you kill enemy you can still technically die to random crap. Been there done that. Lost divines ect.
I’d uninstall no joke. Phrecia is on the way. You gonna have a good time
Would be cool if they added a spirit gem that always requires your total max spirit to be active called Will of the Undying or somethin, which reads something like “If you die, you resurrect after 3 seconds and remain alive for 5 more seconds after which you perish. Gem is consumed in the process. Drop only gem.
Big trash
Perfect PoE2 design then 😅
