David Wright congratulates Carlos Beltrán on his election to the Hall of Fame
I love this man
The man eats lots of peanut butter and honey sandwiches when he was a player
Last month the Mets held a media event in the clubhouse at Citi Field, and David Wright made the trip to speak about the coming season. When it was over, he pulled out a zippered, soft-sided blue lunch box that he had brought with him from his Manhattan apartment, unzipped it and retrieved a peanut butter, honey and jelly sandwich that he had made a few hours earlier. By his own estimate, Wright eats these sandwiches 75 to 80 percent of the 365 days on the calendar, and he makes almost all of them himself. “He eats them nonstop, sometimes even for dinner,” Jeff Francoeur said.

I get it. Goated combo
I liked to put my PB/honey/whatever in the fridge afterwards. Made the honey crystallize a bit and gave a nice lil crunch.
A true pro’s pro. No one has ever called his character into question.
Wright Pedroia Utley Felix Posey next ballot please
Not gonna happen but yes please.
i agree but i gotta have some healthy delusion in my life yk 🎀
They gotta put in Mattingly or Keith Hernandez or Steve Garvey before those guys
I really think Keith should be in. Mattingly is a BIT more borderline to me (44 career WAR, retired after age 34 season), but I still wouldn’t mind him in.
I still can’t get over the fact that he was the only person to face consequences for that thing and losing the Mets manager job.
And not having to manage the Mets is actually a reward.
No you don’t get it, Beltrán is just a cartoon villain who manipulated the poor innocent multi-million Astros and their players to cheat /s
Wtf is this revisionist shit?😂 it’s been 5 minutes. Him and Cora were the main architects.
I got pummeled in the Mets sub for mentioning this.
Mets fans who know he’s going in with their cap desperate to make their Hall of Famer into a martyr scapegoat.
Shame he’ll never get in cause of health. If Mattingly didn’t get in, I’ve got no hope for David.
Always knows the Wright thing to say
Get THIS man in next
Frankie Muniz is lookin good
My heart is full.
Oh god I’m old
Can we get David to congratulate Chase next year lmao
It’s time to let A-Rod in. He’s done the character development and put in the PR work
I think A-Rod would be in by now if it weren’t for the second time he was popped.
That round of PEDs probably had minimal impact on his performance. If anything, it kept him from playing that half-season and prevented teams from wanting to sign him when he had a chance at 700 hr.
Yup. Plus the fact he lied about it. I remember him going on with Mike Francesca (sports radio idiot) for an interview where he swore he wasn’t using steroids. That made him look so much worse.
Who cares? Cheating is allowed, A-Rod should be in
Yeah, I know what you’re getting at with Beltrán. I only think this is an issue now because of Manfred’s flaccid response.
We’re all supposed to pretend that everything is all hunky-dory a decade later. In reality, I’m just as pissed off as you are that nothing happened to that Trashtros team and their piece of metal. In that sense, I think Beltrán has to bear all this burden, all by himself. This will definitely make Altuve’s HOF induction less controversial probably, too.
But my point on A-Rod is that he did too much damage to his legacy by being a repeat roider.
