Loot from running Unforeseen Consequences (36⁄144)
Abyss farm is nice, but sometimes extremely frustrating. Yesterday i earned about 600 div from abyss. Today i did 20 abyss overruns and didn’t see a single amanamu. Then i just stopped playing.
Yeah, this was my experience as well. I thought the atlas node for Amanamu was bugged again. After 10 maps, I finally saw my first Amanamu mobs, and then proceeded to get 1shot with 14k ES. Had to walk away after that one 🤣
Lmao I’m glad I’m not the only one that happened to last much. I have 13k es with djinn defense nodes and my tier 15 was mega juiced along with unforeseen. Got hit with one shot crit. I had to run thawing charms for the ice beam to not freeze my balls
Dang I thot my anger for being 1 shot at 1.5k health no shield was crazy. Every build every style gets 1 shot confirmed
Same for me. I also hate to get hin out of the cloud with my melee 🐻
I’m not having any luck moving them out of the smoke as a bloodmage. Is there a better way to get the omens as spark coc?
Effectiveness is not really doing anything for me. The obly 2 start you need is %increased rare mobs and chance for mobs to have abysmal modifiers.
Is it worth speccing Atlas into Rogue Exile and using a +1 exile tablet on maps like this to also get some diamonds?
yes and no? you would think that an entire map filled with abyss would spawn the exiles on top of the abyss, but often enough they exiles are spawn on the edges of the map.
it does work though, just not as much as you might expect
What are these diamonds?
Heart of the Well
I’ve gotten a diamond every 3-5 overrun maps, often enough to warrant using the tablets if self rolled, though I wouldn’t wanna spend the divs to buy them.
12 lights in 16 maps is pretty bad. I averaged 2 per Amanamu map. I would invest in the setup and add rare monsters to the deli tablet. For the abyss tablet I ran increased chance for abyssal monsters to have abyssal mods + abyss spawn more monsters+ rarity.
Most importantly, for the map itself I only ran ones with the mod rare monsters have 1 additional modifier + increased number of rares.
This combo reliably gave me 8-10 void monsters per Amanamu map
If you can consistently pull them out, that shit is so frustrating. So many times I think I have them well out and then boom liege. Then I get them successfully and putrefaction/sinestral only. I’m getting better at it tho, just sucks living money on the table.
Or going 6 straight maps with no anamanu
Such an unfun mechanic and apparently they’re immune to knockback cuz fuck you
They spawn a new void exactly every 10 seconds, so count from a fresh one.
They get an icon under their nameplate when in the cloud, helps a little.
What is the icon? I thought I checked for one but I didn’t think there was.
As melee bear i hate it to pull them out of the cloud
I am too, but I just get them to low health and use devour when they can be culled which has helped immensely. I just get baited thinking they’re out when they’re not.
I also get them down to low life. Pulling them out aaaabd nothing🤣 2-3 weeks ago i had 2 drops in 2 maps.. im not doing anything different. I dont get it
280- 400 div just in omen of lights per 16 maps is fine and absolutely not bad. Good tips though im running all that same stuff and its definitely maximized. The 1 additional modifier for rare monsters changes everything, although im getting 10-16 void monsters per map myself.
I just mean bad in terms of what the strategy could yield with slight optimization. OP is saying he only gets 1 or 2 void monsters in the map when he could be getting closer to 10
Personally i think unforseen consequences is a trap, my wisp strategy costs much less and gives better returns even when i’m just blindly rolling maps without regard for their mods. Doesn’t need to run increased difficulty per pit either.
On average in an amanamu map i get about 20+ total omens to drop, of which it’s probably around 2+ lights and 5+ echoes.
May I ask what your wisp strategy is? Ty!
Every wisp possessing an Amanamu’s Void mob makes it drop 3 additional omens. The strategy revolves around getting lots of wisps to spawn, and getting them to possess Void rares.
The premise is simple. Spec for wisp chance in the tree, get some more on tablets, and kill every single rare (and rogue exile) in the map except Amanamu’s Void mobs, doing the best you can to not activate any wisps. Once all that’s left is Void rares, the only place the wisps can go is to them.
The execution isn’t quite as simple though. It can be a hard or even impossible to avoid activating wisps while you clear the map… sometimes it’s hard to even see them til you’ve accidentally activated them. And you have to have pretty reasonable defense and control over your dps to kill off non-Void rares from pits while leaving the Voids alive.
Tileset selections matter a lot too, some maps make it so there’s no choice but to pass through a wisp while you clear the map, so try to avoid maps with single, narrow paths. If you do have to pass through a wisp, try to sprint straight through and don’t stop til you’re a screen past it, hopefully you get through it before it can follow you and you can kill everything nearby without it chasing you, then come back to it later once the map is clear.
But, even if you only get one Void rare to spawn, if you can funnel 4 wisps into that rare, it’ll drop 13+ omens in total… the 1+ it’s naturally guaranteed, plus another 12 from each wisp adding 3.
And better yet if you can get multiple Voids to spawn, you can patiently pull one Void rare around to every wisp to force as many wisps into a single rare as possible, then use an Omen of the Hunt to have all those wisps be released on the rare’s death, so they can go juice another rare (only works once per map). That particular approach is time consuming since you may have to lead a rare around the entire map, so it might not be worth the time compared to just moving on to a new map, but it’s good to keep a few Omens of the Hunt on you for situations where you can use it; just don’t activate them until you’ve got a Void possessed by several wisps ready to kill and another Void still alive elsewhere in the map for them to go to, and remember to deactivate the omens afterwords so you don’t waste them on a 1-wisp rare.
It can be a bit hit or miss depending on how many wisps and Void rares spawn (occasionally you might get a map with plenty of wisps but no Voids, which hurts, but it is what it is), but it averages out quite nicely and occasionally you can score an incredible haul. Think my record was 4 lights and 13 echoes from one map.
Edit: Oh, and VERY importantly. NEVER run unforeseen consequences with this strat (or maps that are overrun by abyssals in general). Overrun maps seem to cause wisps not to spawn, so all that speccing for wisps would be rendered useless if you tried.
Also, don’t run tablets with “areas spawn an additional wisp”. And don’t use the atlas passive notable from the boss tree that adds an additional wisp. Those modifiers seem to be bugged and make a map spawn exactly 1 wisp, no more and no less. You don’t want that, because you can get way more than that. Only get increased chance for wisp spawns.
I see. Thanks for the explanation. I’ll try my luck tonight!
Overrun converts all map features to abyss
Makes sense. The content objectives do still show wisps sometimes, but they never actually spawn. So yeah, quite incompatible with my wisp strat.
No one is really running increased pit difficulty with unforseen consequences. I’m sure your wisp strat is good but it sounds very time consuming. In terms of Div/hr, I don’t think it beats the unique tablet. I stopped playing already but my few sessions (~10hrs combined) yielded 2000div profit, so 200div/hr.
Well, it’s hard to compare depending on when your session was and the omen prices at the time, cuz 2000 divs worth of lights a week ago is probably worth about 2800 divs or so now.
But, i spent a bit under 2 hours today doing 20 maps of my wisp strat, which were a little less lucky than average, giving me only 10 omens of light and 37 echoes, which sold for 423 divs.
It doesn’t take a huge amount of time if you’re not pulling the omen of the hunt strat, it’s just near-full clearing a map (like you’d be doing on an overrun map anyway), but then going back for the wisps afterwords, which adds an extra minute or two. Guiding a single rare around to all the wisps to try to use the omen of the hunt takes a few minutes longer, but if there’s a lot of wisps it can be worth it, cuz getting 4-5 wisps into a single rare then using the omen effectively nets an extra 12-15 omens from getting to use those wisps a second time.
Overall i usually get through about 10+ maps an hour (the amanamu ones take 8-10 minutes if i’m trying to use omens of the hunt, the non-amanamu ones i just boss rush to complete, i don’t do the whole Grand Project thing to bail on non-amanamu maps). And in those 10 maps i’ll usually get around 7ish Lights and 20ish Echoes, which is currently a bit under 300 div.
I run increased difficulty with unforseen consequences… I have a blast! Especially when the double tablet effect procs
Does increased item rarity increase the chances that these mobs drop lights instead of other omens like echoes/necromancies?
That’s what the guides say. I have 0 on gear but I pick up some on the tablets and/or waystone.
I’ve heard several times they don’t effect omens.
Do you ever run precursor tablets for lvl 80 mobs or is that a wasted spot?
I don’t and I don’t think I saw any guide recommend it. There’s no open tablet slots for the strat
I’ve ran probably 200 unforseen consequences and to me it sounds like you have good luck.
My average is taken across about 150 maps
Personal amanamu map, I am getting average 4 omens
You probably have better tablets than I used. Plus rarity on gear? I have 0 rarity.
That makes sense. I have 100% on the dot with 15% from charm. My tablets have 2 mods % more rare monsters, I divine until it goes over 35% and %chance for monsters to have abyssal modifiers
I get multiple omens of light with 0 rarity. I’ve heard numerous times it doesn’t effect it. My 0 rarity char and 114 rarity char see no differences in omens of light anecdotally.
I’m also interested on this farming route. Just to check. what do you do if that abyss run is not Amanamu map?
Because it’s still 50% chance.
I just leave. I ran a handful of non-amanamu maps at first but it felt like a waste of time so I stopped.
Does rarity on gear matter? Running 90% and ive been getting mostly omen of abyssal echoes.
It should, but I have 0 rarity on gear. I just pick up some on the tablets + whatever % the waystone rolled with. You will be getting much more Abyssal echoes. My ratio was 100 omen of lights to 325 abyssal echoes
Thanks, I think its just my tablets are bad. Ive been half assing them since I dont have alot of currency. Im new to poe2 endgame its my first time doing maps this season.
POE1 and POE2 lean heavily into investing into one strategy. You need to spend money to make money. I’d invest whatever currency you get from the first few Omen of lights into tablets and good waystones. My cost per run was ~2d but my profit (not revenue) was around 200div/hr.
Thats good insight thank you. Ill look into better waystones.
I still have yet to see an Omen of Light drop when I kill one of those Anamanu bitches outside their smoke ring. I’m like 0 for 8.
Seems about right to me I had similar data. I wonder if the mobs can die in the cloud in your case? Was thinking about switching to poison too since I heard they don’t take damage from poison in the cloud, and I got tired of accidentally killing them in the cloud with other builds too many times. But maybe poison build is not much better in this case?
With practice it gets better, but I have accidentally killed many of them this league in the cloud. My plague kinda spreads indiscriminately
I mean can you still accidentally kill them with poison when you are not in the cloud? I played a few different build but they all seem to be able to kill them inside the cloud when I am half a screen away from the cloud.
My poison seems to stop doing damage when they are in the cloud. It’s the herald of blood that seems to be obliterating them at times, so I typically have to stop all damage right as the pit is about to spawn its monsters, so that I don’t instakill the smallies that will in turn explode and kill the Amanamu’s even within their void.
Cool data, thanks for sharing! I’m assuming based on how you phrased it that you pulled all the amanamus out of the cloud?
I’m more in shock that your inv tab is that well organized
Whatsup with those helmets low right? They are marked as goodloor in my filter but dont know why
You should be doing two abyss tablets and one should have increased difficulty per closed pit. Way better than a delirium tab.
If your build isn’t juiced the increased difficulty is killer
Well yeah but OPs build should be able to handle it just fine. I used the same one with a similar level of investment.
What do you use for the 3rd tablet?
I use: 2 tablets, with chance for four abyss, Abyss modifiers, and rarity, 1 tablet, with 2 additional rare mobs spawn from abyss, difficulty pr. closed, and rarity
Poison PF actually sucks for this because our poisons can accidentally kill them even when they’re in the cloud and we’re not
You’ve been insanely lucky. I’ve been doing the same strategy ever since Unforseen Consequences price dropped back when the temple blew up in popularity. I just ran 40 of these maps / tablets with the same set up as you and I’ve dropped about 4-5 Omen of Light. I will say part of my problem is my build though. I run Headhunter and CoC, half the time I get Amanamu my character teleports into the swirly and CoC kills them before I can blink out. I kill less than half this way accidentally though, it’s not a huge variable in the equation.
This post is not insanely lucky at all, with similar strat I also have an omen of light average every 3-4 maps with some juicier ones dropping 2-4 omens. I’ve personally switched off headhunter, oddly enough my survivability even improved since
