I’m very interested to see how they perform with him. Theyve been dealing with a decent amount of injuries and I believe this is the first time they are fully healthy

I think it’s reasonable we can just extrapolate his expected stat line from his per36 so far this season with the suns.

So we can safely expect: 37.²⁄₄.⁸⁄₄.8 with 2.4 stl.

well think of it this way. Green is a 34% career 3point shooter. Book is shooting 30% this season so far. Even at a baseline, Green will give us more of a perimeter threat.

It’s honestly funny that you’d see 34% and think like, ok, so consistently slightly below average? But in reality he’s either Steph or one of the Thompson twins on any given night and you’ll never have an idea of which it’ll be until it happens

How is Green going to the rim? I’m excited that we finally have athletic guard who can put the ball on the floor attack the basket at will.

Beal was supposed to be that guys next to Book but he was always injured and never got into a rhythm.

He used to be aggravatingly bad. Now he’s pretty good. I have a feeling it’s going to take a while for him to get back into that rhythm though.

bit of a mixed bag, depending on what team he’s facing. he’s very good at getting to the rim against bad to mid defenders reliably, but one of the biggest issues with his game is that as soon as he faces someone who’s more disciplined and he can’t get past them with just the speed of his first step, he gets shut down pretty easily. in those cases he almost always (probably 90% of the time) ends up doing a bunch of dribble moves that don’t actually create any separation -> contested stepback jumper at the end of the shot clock.

he’s tightened his handle compared to when he came into the league, but despite all appearances he doesn’t actually have much of an effective bag. he’s very fast in a straight line, but he never really learned how to abuse change of pace on drives effectively to get separation for open midrange shots or to get good defenders off balance and then get past them for clear access to the rim. it’s really unfortunate because if he added that to his game he could be lethal, but it’s why guys like Harden, Luka and SGA are so much more effective drivers than he is despite being nowhere near as fast as him.

one reason you can be optimistic though is that Book is an incredibly good player for him to model his game off of, so if he can learn any of those things from Book and shore up the stuff i talked about, he’ll at worst be a consistently decent second option

I’m really excited to see how Jalen plays there. The potential is there with him and I think the Suns with more spacing may be a better spot than the Rockets, I remember that one awesome stretch he had when Sengun was out back in like 2023 I think it was. Seems like he could fit in really well with them. That being said the inconsistency was just such a glaring problem, Suns won’t necessarily need him to do as much as the Rockets needed so that might help but he would just go so cold sometimes. Hope he’s over that, I liked him and want him to succeed

Suns are actually pretty middling offensively been hovering around the 16th mark. It’s mostly the 4th ranked defense so far that’s been propping the team up. Him coming back is a huge boost
