Steph was asked what it means to him to be voted as the oldest point guard to start an NBA All-Star Game at 37 years old. “I love the fact that pretty much every acknowledgement you get at this point is you’re the oldest to do something.”
I know LeBron is sick of it too lol
He just farms new reactions and quotes when they tell him you’re the oldest for something
“LeBron you’re the oldest to cough on a nba court on a Tuesday”
LeBron “😮😏”
Lebron is probably the most meme NBA player in history too.
LeHem
This is a steph post why u makin it bout bron
Because they’re both great players who are getting accolades for being the oldest to do x y or z?
This is a time where a comparison actually makes sense considering they’re both in those conversations.
cause its in relation to the age comment steph made. lebron has been old for awhile (nba old)
Because they are old.
Cause he knows lebron bro and how he feels didn’t you read his comment lmao
I’m glad he’s still got a smile on his face, after knowing his season is over.
I’d be heart broken.
He’s such a goat in so many ways.
How is his season over??
Jimmy is out for season
And a chunk of next season probably. Steph warriors could be cooked as a whole. It’d be a shame if he doesn’t get to play in the playoffs again. Hes also having a great year.
I mean let’s face it, there’s not going to be playoffs for the warriors before he retires. Even when Jimmy does come back he’s going to be, what 37 coming off an ACL? Coming back to a core of 38 year old Steph and 36 year old Draymond?
Unless they hit an immediate stud in the draft I’d imagine it’s going to be kind of tough recruiting any huge talent. Because they can only promise whoever a couple years with Steph at most.
Not that this is a dig. Legendary career, legendary run by an org, but all things must come to an end. The question is if we’d see Steph chase another ring or retire a warrior. I’m leaning on the former.
if only Poole or Kuminga managed to work out for them, Curry could have had such a good send off for the tail end of his career
Or Wiseman, or Moody. They had some lottery picks but they missed their chances.
I would say Poole already worked out for them. Picked in the 30s, was rated the worst player in the NBA in his first year. Developed into a contributing factor to secure the 4th championship in Steph’s career.
Poole could have worked out if Draymond hadn’t punched the vibes out of him. That punch and the subsequent decision of the front office to protect Draymond was the beginning of the end. He should have been the one banished to Washington after what he did.
Poole did work out for them until Draymond happened
I think he’s retiring as a warrior personally ; he loves the city and would be in the vein of Duncan/Dirk/Kobe
Yeah 4 rings equaling the arguable GOAT, leader of a dynasty that changed the entire sport, and being the best shooter of all time is a legacy to be happy about.
I’m torn about it. If he wins one more, it’ll be tough to put him below Magic all time, but the only way he gets one is if he leaves I think.
This might also be the best way to have him around longer. Why go through the grind of training if your team is not competitive.
A real chance to win would make him stay longer which is better for all basketball fans
I genuinely hope it’s the former; I want to see him compete for another ring. I see a lot of fans have this sentiment where they want Curry to stay a Warrior to the end no matter what, and I really don’t see why that matters so much. He gave us 17 years of incredible basketball.
Yeah I’d rather see him go out competing. I think I’d have liked that to be with the warriors but they’re just so fucking cooked after the Jimmy thing that he just kinda needs to get out of there to not go out sad
I want Steph to do whatever Steph wants to do. I am going to support him no matter what, he has given us everything we could ever hope for and more, he deserves to do whatever makes him happy.
Steph deserves to end his career however he wants, but it would be awesome to see him be a Warriors lifer. Not a lot of legends can claim to have done what he did, and fewer still can claim to have stayed faithful to one franchise for their whole career.
Thinking about who has multiple chips and multiple MVPs with only one team, it’s like Magic, Duncan, Bird, and Russell.
agreed, and the warriors are my favorite team. but i don’t think being on a different team for a couple years changes anyone’s legacy that much. especially if he’s able to have a good playoff run or two wherever he does. he’s clearly still a very good player even at 37. no warriors fan with any sense would like him any less if he went and competed elsewhere for a couple years. they were already in a rocky spot, and the jimmy injury is just too much for this team to come back from and do anything meaningful.
MAYBE throwing all their draft picks at someone and some salary gets them another good player but i doubt that’s even enough, and it ruins their future for almost a decade.
He’s probably not going to the playoffs, but he just loves playing basketball, and in that sense, the season is far from over
WHAT pain pain so much pain
ACL. Tragic.
Steph stays positive, gonna be a bit inconsolable when he hangs em up.
Thats just Curry man. He’s a kid on the court and he loves the game.
It’s just amazing how great Steph still is. Maybe not quite 2016 or 2022 level Steph anymore, but still so incredibly electrifying to watch. There’s always this feeling of “what if Curry just goes off today?” when he’s playing.
And his style is so high octane on top. While other atg players like KD or Bron still maintain(ed) elite production at that age, they looked a lot more deliberate about moving and started to conserve energy without giving up a lot of overall value overall.
Steph otoh is just moving, running, fighting through screens all the damn time. His stamina and endurance are otherworldly. With Steph and KD at 37 I can’t help but feel sad that my favorite and most formative players to watch are nearing the Fall phase of their careers, with LBJ possibly making me wish for honestly unfair things, like hoping that maybe Steph KD and Harden make it to 41, too, in the league. Appreciate these guys so much. Really hope Curry gets to compete in the playoffs a couple more times while he’s still that guy when it matters.
Yeah caught a game where he went off a few weeks ago. Dude was so freaking limber and fluid like he was in his 20s. His conditioning is insane!
number one thing I grew to respect about the greatest of the great players after watching them grow old is that it’s almost never that they have a swift and significant decline in their ceiling, but moreso that their floor drops and so they become less consistent
you can see it with Bron, KD, Steph, Harden as we speak - they almost certainly won’t be hitting the peak peak levels they could have before, but they can pull out like 80-90% of it (and tbf to KD and to a lesser extent Harden their peaks were on the other side of major injuries). it’s just that they can’t do it every night like they used to, so now you actually find yourself thinking ‘damn that was a nice game!’ for the same kind of performances that you would have considered a given from them in earlier days.
it’s good in a way, it sort of forces us to appreciate them more by showing us that maybe we didn’t realize just how good we used to have it when they were in their primes
Wrote that beautifully
kind of you to say so, it’s hard not to be romantic about basketball ❤️
Love and basketball
Have you seen his workouts? He’s doing a ton of sprints. And I mean a ton. Plus, sprint into sudden stop into jump and shoot. He’s also doing a lot of weights to keep the muscle on his body, since he’s naturally lean he loses muscle mass very fast. He works extremely hard for that endurance.
When he said in the video he’s lucky to be able to handle the work that goes into maintaining the level he’s at, he’s not kidding. Not a lot of 37 year olds can handle that level of training intensity.
with LBJ possibly making me wish for honestly unfair things, like hoping that maybe Steph KD and Harden make it to 41, too, in the league.
If Steph plays until 41, there’s a good chance he’ll hit 5000 career three pointers.
His final nba game will be him just launching 3s. Possibly breaking the scoring record
Honestly I hope that is the case. Let’s just see what he can do in that area if that’s all he focuses on.
Just not against the Spurs!
Steph’s final game, they should let him and the other team’s best shooter take uncontested 3s the entire game. Like a gentleman’s agreement sort of thing.
lol. i love how you are rooting for him but not against your team . true fan!!
If he goes out with a 60 ball like Kobe did, I’d be so happy.
And the Jazz were doing everything they could for him to be successful
Well, I hope the Warriors just go with the “let Steph shoot 20+ threes a game” strategy the rest of the season. From anywhere. Just launch.
It’s a weird feeling, right? I still remember putting up a free Addidas Kobe promo poster during his rookie year…
Don’t worry though, it’s never too late to fall in love again (looking at you, Wemby 😍).
Great observation. A lot of fans and even experts don’t see the difference between KD/Bron and Steph. Steph is still a workhorse, he gets hounded, doubled, chase, and full court pressed. He gets challenged on defense a lot dude to his height and teams looking to tire him out. This all on top of running the offense and moving a ton off ball while he also sets screens etc… Van Gundy pointed out how he opens a lot of lanes and create opportunities with his gravity that you just don’t see in assists or any advanced stats. Which is more reason why he is a workhorse. He is the system so there is no replacement. His peers at his age are not doing this. They’re conserving energy a lot on both sides. They’re mostly standing until they get the ball to score or they drive, kick it back out when double comes to get an assist. It’s tiring and they’re old, so I get it. But watching Steph at his age is just insane still running like a workhorse. And shooting long range jump shots is tiring in the legs itself.
Every time he makes another 3 he is the youngest and oldest to ever have made that many.
I hope he still gets voted as an All star starter at PG until he’s 40 :-)
If he loves it then keep doing it.
Honestly in today’s day and age it’s not that weird that some of the greatest athletes in the world are still performing a high level in their 30s
Yeah, the games may be more intense (on average), but when they’re not playing these guys have the best nutrition (if they accept it), the best facilities, the best treatment, travel on pillows, and some even have hyperbaric chambers, ha.
As an older guy, I didn’t feel a lot of athletic decline until about 42+. But I get that the NBA athleticism requirement is razor thin, especially for guards.
Sad to have that clarifying question.
A true GOAT
Love that Steph brings joy to the game.
Trade Steph Curry to The Raptors and start the rebuild! Its time ⏳️
Does Stephen have what Michael j fox have? I HOPE NOT.😨

Why are you talking like you plan to Kirk him?
Even if it was his last season (It’s not. ) he’s had an all-time historic career.
He’s got a lot to smile and laugh about for another 40-50 years.
Or he could choose to go be a miserable fuck like someone who would post your comment.
Guarantee you talk about dick riding at least five times a day lol.
Loser/lame behavior.
What have you got to smile and laugh about bud?
I had plenty of fun watching my team dominate for the better part of a decade. Life is good.
No. I’m talking like I’m a sports fan that had “plenty of fun watching” you weeb.
Anime gooners wouldn’t understand how normal people talk. We can all tell that from your original post (Seriously, why even say something like that? What was the thought process there? lol ) and everyone you know off the internet thinks you’re weird.
I’ve got a great sense of worth.
Dick riding and hating dick riders is the same activity
Fuck did he say he was retiring after this season?
Didn’t deserve it over Ant for this year.
Hmmm give it to the guy averaging 29/5/4 or one of the most popular players averaging 27/4/5 with a much worse roster.
Tbf it makes sense to average more on a worse roster since there’s no one else to do anything besides Steph
(idc about the all star game. Ant’s hurt, Steph is a legend and cool guy)
Yeah that actually makes sense lol. I hadn’t thought about it like that.
But it’s always gonna be a legacy thing first and foremost.
How is having worse stats on a worse team an argument in Steph’s favor lol.
Averaging more on a worse roster is easier. Ant would average 40 on the warriors.
Wemby should be the one that is not a starter imo…missed more games than the other two, only started 20 games this season due to injuries, let him go into AS game from the bench.
There’s a whole other side of the ball where Wemby is the very best. He’s at worst a top 5 player in the league.
Obviously…he still played significantly less than any other West AS starter and that should be accounted for imo.
I think the best player on the 2 seed in a stacked west, who is the best defender in the league and averages 25⁄11 on 52/40/84 splits is an absolute lock to be an all star starter, but maybe that’s just me.
Well fans voted and they deserve to get what they want. If it was NBA pick and they picked ANT, fans will stop watching
It’s just a statistical fact idk why the downvotes.
Because Allstar voting isn’t statistic based so y’all just sound dumb. It is quite literally a popularity contest and Steph is one of the most popular NBA players of all time. It’s also the same award, this isn’t all-NBA. They’ll both have allstar written on their bbref for this year, ur guna be ok.
Unpopular opinion, but I agree.
