Whatever man. It’s hard to be upset as a Boston sports fan when the Patriots are 1 win away from the Super Bowl and my Bruins are on a 6 game win streak. Celtics played the 1 seed and lost by 1 point. We will bounce back, it’s alright

Detroit weren’t winning games but they weren’t bad - lots of good pieces. Last year they were literally sitting just over the horizon waiting to attack the East. They’ve been rolling with a successful rebuild for years

Can’t even be mad because he was the whole offense down the stretch. It seems like we always get a timely Derrick White clutch 3 in every close game and we just haven’t been getting that lately. I need Derrick whites shot to come back so bad.

Also he was 8⁄10 or 9⁄11 so I’m not mad at all when he’s actively showing progress at being a reliable ft shooter
He then made 2 driving layups and pulled down a rebound so let’s take it easy on the missed FTs (8-10 btw)
His routine is way too slow. He’s a good shooter. He should just step up, dribble once, and knock it down.

Pritchard received a lot of bad passes tonight lol. Probably a half dozen where he had space to shoot but the pass was so off target that he could t recorrect and get it off.

Awesome point. Tatum isn’t the flashiest passer, but it’s always accurate and on time.
You could say this for about 90% of the Celtics losses this season

Tough loss…White as a second option this year has been rough offensively
maybe an unpopular opinion but this was the least painful loss in a while. we shot like ass, had way more turnovers, and still came inches away from winning against the 1 seed
sucks that dwhite’s been so off but he was never really supposed to be a 2nd option
On top of that, the NY Chicks even lost a game today, so we are still up in the 2nd seed.
Agreed, I’d rather lose a close game to a good team than get blown out (or lose a huge lead.) Winning against them earlier in the season, if only once, softens the blow a bit too.

Tuff game, 3pt variance hit us in the face again in the 4th and we still had a chance to win it at the end.

If Detroit is the best team in the East than we definitely can get to the Finals. Only lost by 1 with White building a brick house and Jaylen missing 2 crucial FTs. And this is without Tatum.
To be fair, Cade Cunningham was building a brick house as well.
I will so happily take 7 of those in the playoffs (7th of which we win of course). What an awesome game!

I was troubled by the absolute lack of team play. I know we had one assist on the lob to Queta, but cant remember another. Everything we do is just one on one. Is passing just a dead art?

Losing with a bad bounce is good enough for me. With a small addition on center position and Tatum, I feel all comfortable against the East.

Pistons look good but very beatable. We just gotta make sure to make shots whether Tatum is in the lineup or not I think we got em.
I used to say that I’m glad to have white because he is a more consistent Marcus Smart basically. Boy was I wrong. When White slumps he slumps HARD.
Perhaps they should’ve traded DWhite for the tenth overall pick. Second option DWhite hoops is brutal.

If anyone wants a laugh, scroll through the Pistons sub. I genuinely had no idea they hated us this much, and honestly some of the insults had me cracking up.
Everyone hates the C’s.
They hate the Celtics because they know this is the best Pistons team they have had in nearly two decades and they are barely squeaking by a Celtics team without their best player and a whole new roster that’s honestly one of the worst Boston has had in the last decade.
Great effort and just missed the win when we couldn’t shoot. Genuinely don’t understand why Derrick White still has the green light for contested 3s. 4 pts on 1⁄11 tonight was killer. Love his defense but he’s honestly just chucking out there in so many games. 3rd worst fg percentage in the entire league (!) and he’s somehow taking 16 shots/9 3s per game with a 32% 3pt. He’s just not a second option and can’t create his own shot. Joe Mazulla has been phenomenal coaching this year but like, this one I just don’t get.

It should be inexcusable how the entire team has less assists than Cade. That said, we winning the series if we match in the playoffs
Even like a 70% role playing Tatum would be extremely helpful against this team. We did surprisingly well on the glass, but there’s times when guys like Tobias and Stewart had really favorable matchups against smaller defenders like Pritchard/Simons/Baylor. Just having another 6’9” guy out there would’ve been huge.
These guys have our number.

The Cs perimeter defense has been awful lately. Opposing teams’ best player drives, three Cs defenders collapse on them and leave shooters wide open behind the arch and they’ve been making us pay. It is infuriating to watch happen over and over.

There was that time JT hit a gane winner against the raptors. But besides that, the celtics suck in the clutch. Name me a time they have hit a game winner. If the game goes down to the wire, they fold.

The game wasn’t won or lost on the final shot. My got STOP with the “joe can’t call ATO’s” he’s had plenty of great ATOs all season but the clutch time percentage is pretty trash across the entire NBA. He got the right guy into the right spot thats it.
This game was lost on the live ball turnovers and the free throws, the last shot was meaningless.
