I mean the 7 out of 11 media voters literally gave him Tatum’s FMVP award because it made for a better narrative. They love putting him front and center to speak his truth. JB is a media darling.

Tatum’s FMVP??? Quit trolling. Jaylen played both ends and was phenomenal. He played with energy, pace, and intention that Tatum didn’t play with and earned the Finals MVP. See the nonsense with Stephen A Smith talking about how Jaylen is “unmarketable” etc. and the media hate train the Boston media has run on Jaylen for years.

No I just mean in the sense that Tatum lead the team in points, rebounds and assists, was the best player on the team, the focal point of the offense and the most impactful defender. But yeah the 7 out of 11 media members voted for brown because the media loves Brown.

Luckily, I decided that FMVP is completely subjective now and anyone trying to tell me Jaylen is the FMVP that is just a personal opinion as far as Im concerned. To me, Tatum is always the FMVP of that team. Just like Bird is the FMVP in his first ring as well. Same thing happened to him that happened to Tatum.

Sure.. Tatum was our better player throughout the year. Though JB -definitely- was the better player in the ECF. Admittedly while the margin was closer in the Finals.. when you factor in both sides of the ball, and a -huge- part of those finals was limiting Kyrie and Luka.. JB has a perfectly strong case for winning the FMVP.

The media didn’t have any agenda, other than crowning the best all around player in that series. It’s not a year-long award dude.

So well deserved! This team lost 4 of their starters including the crowned franchise player, and JB stepped up and lead this team to 2nd in standings. Booed on draft night by the Celtics fans and despite his accomplishments, the fanbase is still divided about him (5th in fan votes considering how big the Celtics fanbase is). Snubbed in the olympics. No major endorsements. But despite the hate and ridicule, he didn’t fold and kept working hard and leveling up. His journey is inspiring.
