I’ve been screaming about KAT’s awful drives for years. It would be one thing if he was bulldozing with some force, but he just awkwardly contorts and throws up nonsense. And even that could be tolerable if he just tried to have a low post game.
Thibs always wanted him to be a post up player and he was doing okay until his finger injury. His drive package is bad bad, his passing IQ is not the greatest, and he has no middy, he is in no man’s land rn without his 3, and you’re are completely right on the contorting weird, he always moves weird and just gets blocked never see a guy get as blocked as him

I mean to some extent, yes. He called himself “the greatest shooting bigman of all time” yet he cant score at all this season.
Also because center is a very noticeable position when you struggle at it. He’s the highest played player and had a tendency to be bullied on boards or locked down by other bigs. BUT, to be fair to him part of this is do to his shooting kinda slumping and also being the only real big they have. The Knicks are a thin team and getting Yabusele as their backup big has backfire horrendously. So if KAT’s playing bad they don’t really have any alternatives so it stands out even worse.

Kats in a major slump - he may have needed thibs- and he’s their second most important player. Hart is inconsistent and mikal can disappear if the system around him breaks down- he can’t be relied upon to lead.

Obviously there are problems that are being surfaced in the midst of a string of losses, but every team has flaws that come up in losing streaks even OKC

KAT got a lot of love from MN fans who appreciated his personality and loyalty (means a lot in MN sportsdom). If you read game-threads back when he was on the team, you would find them absolutely filled with the same complaints as all your game-threads now. I and many others were happy to be free of the cognitive dissonance of trying to believe the guy was a winning player on max contract because we liked him as a person and needed it to be true.
If you play on a pro team for any MN team….and you show loyalty you will have die hard fans for life. Most of us.. got VERY frustrated with everything you guys are seeing this year. The problem is that damn cap hit and the fact that so much of his issues on the court are in his head. Very solid human.. very frustrating basketball player who has all the talent in the world.

We could’ve done more and made it to the finals but he chose to stick to his hardheaded guns and not make rotation changes to fit matchups.
He just forced the starters through until it either worked or didn’t. Last couple of games against the pacers showed that flaw heavily.
That being said, if he wasn’t so hardheaded he wouldve been the ideal coach.

Yesterday, someone made a post talking about how the Knicks were 2-8 in their last 10 and I responded saying I thought it was just a midseason slump and things would turn around.
Now, I’m not gonna say one game has completely changed my mind….. but I’m feeling a little less confident in my prediction looking at this score. If this doesn’t force them to address whatever is the issue, then they might actually be in trouble.
I thought we won this trade when it happened but I thought it was close. Now there’s no way I’d trade Randle for Karl straight up, let alone add Dante and TSJ. Happy, engaged Randle has been amazing and Dante is the exact kind of glue guy you need to go far in the playoffs.
