Lebron James 21 consecutive years being named an NBA All-Star starter has come to an end.
The starters: his teammate Luka Doncic, SGA, Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama

21 consecutive as a starter is crazy. He’ll probably get in as a reserve
I mean, 21 years as an All Star is crazy in itself.
Even 21 years at all in the NBA is like a dozen people ever
Lots of people don’t even manage to stay alive for 21 years.
Damn
Fuck
Oh that’s wack
I said, “What you wanna be?” She said, “Alive.”
😭
Fuck dude, is this an Outkast reference? ATLiens is one of my favourite albums end to end
thanks, Kyle Shanahan
“I have nothing against old people. I want to be one myself one day.” - Charles Barkley
This has always been one of my favorite quotes from him.
my daughter sure did not, thanks man
It’s 7.
Lebron at 23 is #1, and but for his rookie year and his 41-year old season this year, he’s been an NBA all-star. This is not just crazy. It’s undoubtedly the greatest longevity and consistency we’ve ever seen. Even now he’s playing 33 minutes, scoring 22+, and getting 6 blocks and 7 assists a game. He’s 27th in per-game scoring.
“Generational,” does not do this man’s career justice. There are no superlatives left to describe his career.
6 not counting LeBron, with Vince being the only one at 22.

Don’t know if I’m misreading you but fan votes have no impact on reserve all star selections
Correct. Picked by coaches
Deni Avdija above LeBron on a fan vote…
That’s a sign of retirement if I ever seen one
Israel …
26.2 PTS, 7.1 REB, 6.9 AST on the season, pretty shitty to act like Israel is the only or main reason he’s getting love.
Andrew Wiggins got in because of KPop Stan’s this is no different
Denis season is way better than that Wiggins season though
Wiggins getting in is not comparable to what Deni has done lmfao.
Get real.
I’m comparing voting not gameplay
Are you saying Deni should not be an all star and is only getting in because of votes from Israel?
They’re too big a bitch to say that, so they’re just going to dogwhistle.
hahahahahahahah sure well deni came 5th in fan vote for wcf so yeah it was mostly the fucking dorks
Not the only but it’s well known that they vote like crazy whenever fan vote is involve lol
Oh yeah, there’s nothing wrong with some countries rallying behind certain players from there. I love seeing it.
Just claiming “Israel” is lazy and wrong tho. Deni deserves more respect than that.
Nah, fck those bitches
It takes a very simple person to be able to say fuck an entire nationality.
hahahahahahahahahahah it takes an even simpler person to wave off such obviousness as being disingenuous- he came 5th in fan vote which is a pretty big anomaly and “nationality” is a stretch
It doesn’t really need to be a psyop or something
If Gui Santos was playing at an allstar level like Deni is you can bet people in Brazil who don’t give a shit about the NBA would be campaigning for him too, it’s like that for a couple countries
Exactly, player support from around the world is great and a country backing their guy should be celebrated.
Commenting “Israel” doesn’t feel like any of that is happening tho. Hopefully deni gets the respect he deserves.
He’s referencing the Israeli government’s history of putting their thumb on the scale like they did with the Eurovision fan vote last year - they literally had to change their voting rules because there was blatant state level interference from them.
I understand the frustration behind a country fixing votes, if there was any proof of that happening here I’d gladly welcome people to discuss why countries should not artificially inflate votes through nefarious means.
Simply commenting Israel… is not enough to give any credence to that. They are going to have to do better and put a little more effort in to get that level of the benefit of a doubt. Appreciate you actually attempting to do that.
It doesn’t sound like you were even aware of the Eurovision scandal to begin with so who’re you to say who should get the benefit of the doubt? It’s something that’s been going on for years.
Well I was so don’t worry there ☺️
I don’t feel like you’re looking for a productive conversation here, I have stated my position that Deni has had a genuinely great year which has earned him legitimate votes for all star. I hope you have a great rest of your day.

The Israeli government is not synonymous with Jewish people and only an antisemite would say otherwise - what I’m referencing is a verified fact you can learn about with a simple Google search
More likely to be China and Yang, I think.
Boy, wait till Yang Hansen is a starter. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
LeBron coming low in PPG when voting started is what fucked him, it’s an ease of access thing.
The world is feining for dribble drive assists at the all star game
Jews love their basketball. He’s getting the Adam Sandler 50 year old hooper votes
I may love basketball, but I hate Deni
It’s just Israel trying to whitewash their global image lol, his fan vote numbers were ridiculously inflated
Don’t bring that bullshit into this sub please
wtf does this even mean. why would israeli people not vote for an israeli star. hes also straight up much better than lebron this year
It’s not the people but the government, they tried to rig it for the eurovision as well.
It’s funny that they openly have a massive influence operation, from bots to paying public figures, but throwing a few votes at the NBA ASG starters is seemingly unthinkable to this crowd.
No man it’s because he’s really good, that’s why he got more votes than Wemby and Ant and the most famous basketball player of the past two decades ! He’s just really good and his team is really good and his market is really big !
Some people on this site are completely brainwashed, think everything is political, and can only see situations through that lens.
People spend far to much time on social media. Then again, here I am.
Same, but I’m here for sports. Can’t stand my sports subs getting taken over by the political hive mind permanently
brev, Israel has used bots n other tings to rig Eurovision and other events to bolster the public image. What makes it impossible to assume they did the same for Deni avdija. It’s not completely Baseless.
I don’t give a fuck. Everyone does that shit for all star voting. Hell, all around the world any kind of soccer award with fan voting is the same way. Salah used to have all of Egypt propping him up. Many such examples. Yall clowns getting your parties in a bunch over shit like this just shows how short sighted (and borderline ignorant) you are.
Comments like this makes me think I am on the circlejerk reddit but then I realize people are just wild these days.
lol you’re an idiot. The guy is having an amazing season. You spend too much time on Reddit
Wtf is this comment
Not how it works, fans only decide starters
Coming from a small market Suns fan - who is Avdija? Sounds like a village in Ukraine.
Where is Devin Booker on this list? Is he alright? He’s the best player on our team and we are top 5 right now, where is the recognition?
Jamal Murray needs to get in this year
It’s gonna come down to him, Harden, Kawhi, and Booker. 2 of them probably don’t make it, I think he and Kawhi do.
Id pick Harden over Kawhi for this season
Kawhi has been insane this year my man
Harden has been way more consistent
Booker arguably has a worse team around him than the clippers do and the suns have won more but his counting stats aren’t as impressive so I’d get if he missed it.
Tells you how good the league is right now for any of those guys to not be automatic.
He also just climbed to top 10 in the MVP ladder. If he isn’t an all star this year I’m afraid he never will be. He deserves it more than Curry tbh. He’s only missed 4 games more than half way through the season.
He should have gotten it just cuz imo
24 games of 23/6/7, it’s gonna be tough to get him in there on anything other than a legacy selection
21 consecutive seasons is longer than the careers of 99% of players. Being an All-Starter starter every single time is even crazier.
Far less than 1% of players stay in the league for 20 years, you can nearly count the guys who have on your fingers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_seasons_played_leaders
They shared the stat in one of the recent lakers games, maybe vs trailblazers(?), that LeBron has literally played against 35% of all NBA players to ever exist.
Absolute insanity. It’s no wonder he’s such a pillar of the NBA when he’s been playing at a top level for decades, against almost 2,000 different opponents
LeBron’s NBA career is older than Wemby and the iPhone.
Percentages are out the window here, he is 1 / 1
LeBron has been in the league for 23 seasons and his number is 23? He might pay homage to Kobe by playing another season to make it 24 but I’d say there’s a >60% chance he retires by next year
only missed his rookie year before this, crazy blake griffin is the only all star rookie i can think of in recent memory
Blake, Yao, and Duncan are 3 most recent
& all 3 were significantly older as rookies than lebron was in his rookie year when he missed the asg
That’s the pro and cons of playing early. If Kareem didn’t play in college and add 4 years of NBA ro his scoring record, LeBron might not be able to surpass him.
LeBron benwfit from many records that are exclusive to “youngest player to…”. As well as better pay (than college D1)
I’m a LeBron stan, so I’m not hating. It is what it is.
has a rookie ever been a starter?
myplayer has
And pretty much all of them were deserved
All. Not pretty much all
Only 7 players, including LeBron, have played 21 seasons at all, crazy lmao
And how many have been solid (hilarious understatement) NBA players for the entire time?
Add a few decimals to that 99%. Only 6 players have ever even suited up for 21 seasons. Theres been like 5400 players give or take so he’s been an all star more than 5394⁄5400 players have played. So that’s 99.88 percent repeating lol
This is probably Lebron’s most unbreakable record, especially since they changed the voting.
Being elite for 21 consecutive years without even 1 injury or down year is crazy.
21 straight All NBA is even crazier, and he still could go for 22. Rule change there probably kills any chance of breaking that record too. He himself would have missed it by rule in 2019 and several times since.
No chance he makes all-NBA this year. It’s one thing to compete for a spot among the top 12 in the west for all-star game. It’s another to compete for a top 15 spot overall, and Lebron is absolutely not a top 15 player in the league right now.
Unless more people get longer injuries and he stays healthy. However, he is probably hovering around the game requirement as we speak
1 game I think, and he’s definitely missing more than 1 game the rest of the season
0 games actually. He’s already missed 17.
Safely
He definitely has been since Christmas. He won’t make it because of games played not because of talent.
27-8-8 on 53-35-90 splits in January so far. If he stays healthy and keeps producing at this level, all-NBA isn’t that far fetched even if it’s 3rd team. We also have to remember the sentimentality of the voting bloc.
He can only miss one more game the rest of the way. He’s definitely missing all NBA this year.
Yeah that is admittedly gonna be next to impossible for him to pull off at this age
Even if he didn’t miss another game, there’s no chance he maintains that. and the voting bloc are the media. They’re far more objective than fans, players, or even coaches.
He has been top 15-20 in the league ever since his 8 point game. He’s had maybe 1 bad game since, with almost every game being an efficient 25/7/7~ ish game, and some 30+ point games sprinkled in.
IDK if he’ll be able to keep it up once AR comes back, but he’s been the Lakers best player by a decent margin since then. Recently Luka’s started to look more like himself, so he prob won’t be “lakers best player” much longer, but Bron’s been amazing since turning 41.
I think part of it was that his first games back were like his version of a preseason since he’d never missed a preseason and summer training camp until this year, and that’s weighed down his numbers (if all someone saw was what the LeBron haters post and comment about him, theyd have a very different perception of Bron this year than the reality when watching him play)
I’m not gonna deny that sometimes his handles get ugly, but somehow he keeps managing to keep it together for now. I’m obv a big Bron fan, but I’m trying to be objective at the same time
The issue is that it could be that a 20-25 player makes it as a top-15 ‘available’ player. I’m not commenting on whether that’s fair or not, but just saying. Like Giannis, Jokic, Wemby, and so on might not make the cut depending on games missed. Granted I doubt LeBron makes that cut anyway.
I’m genuinely curious which 15 players you think are currently better than Lebron right now?
In no particular order: SGA, Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Wemby, Curry, Cade, Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Maxey, Ant, Jalen Johnson, Deni, Kevin Durant, Sengun, Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray, Devin Booker, Austin Reaves. That’s 20 actually lol.
People are going to gush about Lebron’s January counting stats (which is a SMALL sample size, btw), while ignoring that he’s a negative on defense.
I don’t think he’ll get it because of games played… but since mid December he’s literally been the Lakers best player and would easily be top 15.
He didn’t have a training camp or pre season so that was essentially his first 10-15 games back.
05 - 18. either 13 or 14 straight all nba teams depending on how it maths out.
Since starters are position less, does this mean the international team starts three centers? Please say yes
Yeah they might have jokic play point for fun
Maybe Jokic, Wemby, Sengun? Giannis ain’t no centre
Nah. Giannis on center, and Wemby as small forward.
Jokic running point.
Luka, SGA, Giannis, Wemby, Joker
well not really because Giannis is not a center
Shouldn’t make the HOF after this
Probably will get in just because he’s a Laker smh
21 consecutive years is just flipping crazy
It’s reddit dude you can say frickin.
what he said is actually more accurate though I actually just did several standing flips in response to this post
At this point, _____[insert any LeBron James statistic here]______ is just flipping crazy.
21 All NBA too. Thats even more crazier.
How could they do this to Marcus Smarts GOAT?
The result of overthrowing a lob smh
Butterfly effect is crazy
if I’m Bron I stay home during the break.
LeRest
He’s probably wanted to do that for the last 21 years. Players hate the ASG
Nah players love getting together for the ASG, they just hate playing in the ASG. Ain’t many chances the banana boat boys got to spend time together during the season and All Star break was one of them.
Nah man they would rather be in Cancun. They just get fined for saying it out loud.
He probably stays the whole weekend for All Star weekend if not Sunday cause it’s in LA. Last year he flew in Sunday to Utah and didn’t even suit up lol
Surpassed every unreasonable expectation given to him at 18 years old. The GOAT and it’s not even close
He literally makes it to the finals 50% of the time lmao. For how insanely hyped he was coming into the league if you suggested he would be 50⁄50 to make it to the finals every year people would tell you to shut the fuck up lol
Bust
This fuckery can’t go on much longer
By the Christmas game in 2026, that tweet will be about the halfway point in James’s career.
Giannis is in the east. It’s Wemby
there are going to be two US teams and they’ll name him a starter on one of them
Lol, Adam Silver era is over
Dear NBA,
Considering fan votes decided not to give me the All Star starter for having DNP for 14 games, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of fans, althought it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Curry cannot protect the rim from Fowards or Centers, and why does he have a “right to shoot anywhere” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a ball landed there hundreds of steps away, but I had shots landing there, also.
I have done more for the NBA than any other person since its founding, and now, NBA should do something for Klutch Sports.
The Finals are not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of free agents.
Thank you!
LePresidesnt LBJ

Scrub
An incredible record.
Good
Dude is washed
What about LeBron James Jr? Did he end up being selected?
LeEndOfAnEra
They probably would have snuck him in if he didn’t miss the start of the season and have a slow start. He’ll probably still be a reserve just because his numbers have been going up and being Lebron
Isn’t KD having a better year than Steph?
Sat out ASG last year, sat out early this season, this is the affect of those decisions. .
He (rightfully) had no interest in playing last year so I doubt he really cares this year.
LeReserve
I mean they’ll probably vote him an honorary reserve
The disrespect
LePassing of the Torch
The fuckery finally ended
Hell of a run
I read the title as “Has to come to an end” like it was some LeBron hate.
Washed smh. Regressed to an all star player.
Good luck breaking that 21 year record lol.
It’s funny, a dozen sounds so little and then you realize the literal number without LeBron is 6 players ever
Marcus Smart’s lob caused this
First time since 2005 he’s not an All-Star starter. He missed the first chunk of the season with sciatica and it took him a while to get going - at 41 years old playing second fiddle to Luka, the voters finally moved on.
Injuries. Plain and Simple
Boooo
Well he has been refusing to play
He didn’t deserve it this year. LeFop will soon retire with another 1st round exit, and that will cement his legacy as the greatest loser of all time. Maybe he can change something and win more titles, if he makes another super team. He should try to trade himself to OKC.
He didn’t even show up last year. Lebitch.
Has the fuckery finally ended?
He plays all star game defense
LOL
After that last stunt good
Great run for the GOAT
What does this mean for his legacy?
Good luck to anybody trying to break that record. That’s just an ode to his longevity.
Doesn’t he have a negative +/- on the season? This dude shouldn’t be anywhere near the AllStar game
Anothe + / - dude who does not have any idea what he is talking about, this stat is used by so many fools to push their shit takes.
Lebron makes the lakers worse and they cannot wait to dump him after this season. Lol
I guess Jokic also makes the Nuggets worse since they are winning without him, you second comments is even dumber than the first one.
“Winning without Jokic” with a negative point differential playing teams with terrible aggregate record and winning at a worse rate with worse statistics.
You are incredibly DELUSIONAL lol. Lebron has a negative net rating and his team has a BETTER record without him and his team performs BETTER statistically without him. He pads stats, brings a toxic attitude, and doesn’t play defense. You’re gonna get a reality check this offseason.
you are past delusional bud, Lakers had a hot stretch in the beginning where Luka and Reaves were both averaging 30 and played bad teams, they still got waxed by OKC, Atlanta and other younger teams.
Pads stats - goated casual take, change the sport.
He pads stats by making zero effort on defense and refusing to come off the bench. He has a shit attitude and his team is better by every measure without him. You’re gonna run into the brick wall of reality this offseason, probably starting with the coaches not even picking him to be an All Star reserve.
refusing to come off the bench
you making up stuff now, if you think he should come off the bench on this awful team you are even more clueless.
I don’t think he cares.
The LeBron hate is that powerful. Kind of wild
Even if Curry didn’t get in, Edwards would deserve it. He doesn’t deserve it over Wemby either
Popularity determines all star, not all nba stats. People definitely left him off their 5 picks because they dislike him rather than the top 5 being their favorite players
No All Star, no All NBA
Need to hang it up 😭
He’ll be an all star just not a starter
Bron could’ve been the GOAT if only he’d won at least two more chips.
Yeah but how does this affect LeBron’s legacy?
He’s still going to be a starter.
