Deni Avdija returns in the win against the Kings: 30/8/8 on 10⁄18 shooting and 8⁄8 from the line. The Blazers are now 22-22 on the season.

Another day back to office. Get this guy in the all star game man. He deserves it
Avdija averages 26/7/7 & is by far the best player on Portland. He definitely deserves to be an all star.
Strong argument for all-nba if they finish with a winning record
What a player man. Could see him taking a next level up if he can develop a mid range game
We got ourselves a franchise player
And a coach! Don’t forget the coach!
I don’t understand how the Wizards gave him to you for a washed role player and mid 1st rd draft pick. Congrats though. Blazers have a bright future.
thanks for your service malcolm 🫡
They traded him for:
60% of the value of the trade hasn’t come back to the Wizards yet (it will in ‘28, ‘29, and ‘30). And Deni was not part of the new FOs timeline, the internal buzz has largely always been that they felt he’d win them too many games if he took a leap, which would prevent their ability to tank, and would also mean that once we did get other first rounders to pair with him, he’d be in line for big money.
It’s a timeline issue more than a skillset one. Look at how Utah has wasted the last few years of Lauri and not allowed him to play to ensure they’re able to tank. That’s not a better system.
Whatever y’all gotta tell yourselves
I laugh whenever I see the timeline thing. They trade for Trae to be tank commander?
The tank is set to end after this year (assuming they get a top 3-4 pick) and Trae is not expected to play more than a few games this season, so yes, they did.
They’ll see what the fit is like next season and likely extend him regardless so he doesn’t consider exercising his player option. But they did not trade for him with the expectation that he would win them games this year.
Deni was traded two years ago; in that time, we’ve gotten the #2 pick and the #6 pick. If Deni is here last year, we’re likely not maximizing our chances at a top 3 pick (didn’t work out regardless since we got 6, but the thinking was solid).
Dude should be an All star
All NBA
He’s a lock for the all star at this point
he will, discussion has moved to he should be all nba
Get his game on, get paid!
Donovan Clingan though 🔥
Absolute monster, stepped up big time
how can reddit cry about him in this thread! 💀
Gotta dust the Dorito powder off their fingers first
Not one complaint yet…
He was 6⁄6 from the line until the final seconds in which he got fouled up 5 with 1 sec to go.
Nice guy Cardwell helping Deni get a 30 piece
He was also fouled intentionally before that, so basically only 4 free throws
Free throw merchant strikes again!!!
my goat
And my axe.
My Liege
Came back from a lower back injury and carried us on his back!
This is good for okc record vs .500 teams!
Kings need to blow it up while they can
This statement has been true for what, 18 of the last 20 seasons? Whenever I feel down about the Blazers the last 5 years, I think about the Kings post Adelman era and I don’t feel as badly anymore. They have a great fanbase that deserves so much better.
Cligan bro holy sht
MIP
So… where’s Scoot? Season is like half over.
So, is Dani a lock for Most Improved Player award at this point?
Not yet, but he should be if he keeps this up until the end of the season and Portland gets to the playoffs
Could’ve been an email
Since 2020 basketball has been fucked for us and I’m so happy to have hope again
honestly if you guys draft well this year and if dame and jrue are healthy next year you guys will be pretty good
