[HIghlight] Kevin Durant passes Dirk Nowitzki (31,560) for 6th on the All-Time Scoring List as the Rockets defeat the Pelicans, 119-110.

Just 730 pts to pass MJ. Barring any mishaps, he’ll get it done this season, and should easily pass Kobe by next season. Malone is the tough one as he’ll likely need 3 more seasons after this to have a chance. Hope he does it.
He should go to the Jazz and take 40 shots a game for the next 4 years
He’s a hooper not a wifer
needs to average 17 a game to pass MJ.
Crazy because he was injured for 3 years ? Sheesh what an all time great
Doesn’t get the respect he deserves
He Will when he retires. Arguably top 10 all time.
Depends on how people view the GSW rings. Playing on that super team really tarnished them.
No way is he top 10 of all time. He’d have to be above one of the below:
All of the above have better resumes.
Arguably top 15 all time.
100% top 15 all time
Kobe/Duncan tier, ahead of KG/Chuck tier? I can accept it, but 100% is a bold claim.
Over who?

hi alt account
Are you 13 years old? Because anyone who remembers his career going back to Texas knows this isn’t true
Some people are fixated with him going to GS
Hard to not respect taking the hardest road.
Does Steph’s legacy get diminished for recruiting KD?
Weird that some of yall can’t separate the dude making a lame choice (it was) and being one of the best to ever do it (he is).
You’re asking a Thunder fan to not have petty hate toward KD. You’d more easily convince a brick wall
Nice try Kevin
Ah didn’t notice the flair. Noted.
No, because Steph is the centerpiece of the Warriors dynasty and always has been. His gravity and off-ball play makes room for an all-time great like KD to flourish
Sat the entire 19⁄20 season.
Missed most of 14⁄15 and 20/21seasons.
Some other seasons he missed a lot of games too.
I think he only had 14 seasons worth of games played prior to this year despite being in the league for 18 years
He’s chasing LeBron in points if he doesn’t get injured
No way
I think they mean the injuries from the past
Him and LeBron ending 1 and 2 would be poetic
KD is a hooper. I think he’ll play as long as he can play. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him play until mid-40s, also wouldn’t be surprised if injuries catch up too
KD will play in rec leagues when hes 60, he’ll go as long as he can. Like you said just a case of how long before injuries stop his ability to play in the NBA.
The greatest scorer I’ve ever seen.
Still got my OG thunder durant poster on my wall. At least he did what was good for his career as much as it hurt. I understand why.
KD might be the most unstoppable scorer we’ve ever seen. All-time great player!
Might really pass Kareem before it’s all said and done
At 60 games per season he’d need to average 25 ppg for another half decade for that. I really doubt it. For reference hes only played 60 or more games in a season twice since 2019.
Probably going to do it for the third straight year this year, though. We’ll see, definitely an uphill climb but I’d honestly be surprised if he isn’t still a great scorer at 40 and I think he’ll be close
He’ll be a great scorer regardless of age. It’s just that older players will get less minutes and need more rest days even if they avoid a major injury. Hell LeBron missed games this month with his listed “injury” as arthritis lmao.
I can genuinely see KD playing until no one wants to sign him anymore, and his game doesn’t rely on quickness as is, as long as he can stay somewhat efficient, I can see him playing well into his 40s.
On the other hand I can also see him playing overseas or in the Big 3 the moment a coach wants him to come off the bench.
He could come close, probably won’t beat Kareem, but #3 in all time scoring I can definitely see.
Your math is slightly off. He “only” needs another 273 games of scoring 25+ points to match Kareem. So if he averages that amount while playing even ~55 games over the next 5 years, he’ll surely get there
And for further reference, he averaged around 27 ppg the last two seasons while playing 75 and 62 games respectively. Currently on pace to play 80 games this season while averaging 26 ppg
I hope he plays until like 42-43. He loves the game. What else is he gonna do?
should have passed kareem, if he hadn’t missed over 3 seasons worth of games due to injuries in his prime years - he’d probably be on track for 40k+ by now.
That’s the qualifier which makes stats like these meaningful.
It’s like saying if he hadn’t scored less, he would be the leader in ppg this season.
4th all time after Malone after its all said and done
KD will pass up Kareem
Pretty damn impressive considering he has missed several full seasons

Never been a huge fan of him with how he acts off the court
Lol what?
