DAME SARR:

I know it’s only January and we are thinking at our BOY JT coming back. I’d only want to notice a name who is not passing “under everyone’s eye”. DAME SARR from Duke. First of all we have good experiences with Duke guys😉. It reminds me an early Jaylen brown (strong comparison i know). 6’8” with an impressive wing span, by far the best duke defender, not same good offensively, but the stats are so evil against him. 6 points per game is miserable, but i watched several duke games and they literally never pass him the ball on offense, as they only play with boozer essentially. Mock draft put him in late 1 round, but in october was 10 projected. We must pick him, hoping he remains unnoticed. What do you think?

It’s tough to get too far into draft at this point because we are a contender and we don’t yet know what holes will have to be filled positionally come draft time

Could very well be, and not trying to discourage draft content here im just suggesting it’s tough to tell who’s gonna be in what range, what we need, our pick situation, etc at this point

But I certainty respect anyone getting into the draft prospect stuff this early in the cycle, I personally don’t start till much later

Yeah I remember one year I went around aggregating all the stories of Boston working out prospects.

I had a list of 30-40 guys… and then we went and drafted Rob Williams who we hadn’t worked out at all because he was expected to be a late lottery pick. I also found out later on, the team had worked a bunch of other guys too but they hadn’t been reported.

I was happy with the pick, but there was no way anyone could have predicted that.

There are too many variables for a late pick made by a team that’s already pretty deep.

he had 17 points in nike hoops summit in june 2025, in duke the simply don’t know how to use him on offense. For sure he will declare for 2026 anyway

People talking about his offensive stuff when he have hugo lol. This guy is like a minott/hugo hybrid.

I think dame can be a really good player, has the brad body type for players he likes, just depends on the intangibles and whether or not he goes back to school. But i think he’d be looked at as a steal for us a year after the draft if we got him.

That said i think i might prefer to go with sergio de larrea. I just think taking euro guys that have already been pros for longer helps them get up to speed faster, and that’s what we should want for a contending team picking late in the draft. Sergio is kinda like hugo except with the offensive sliders turned up and the defensive sliders turned down slightly but he’s still a good defender. Big guard so he can play 1 - 3
