[Highlight] Collin Sexton was still guarding Steph Curry as he headed toward the tunnel
This is some RDCWorld level of guarding.
“Coach said I gotta get you right here!”
Last week it was Kris Dunn.
This week it’s Collin Sexton.
Who’s it gonna be next week? Curry gonna stand under his own basket, let the Warriors play 4v4.
Steph just chilling at home with Davion Mitchell face-guarding him in the living room
Dude, davion I’m trying to watch TV and you are in the way.
Yo Davion pass me that roll of toilet paper right there
Davion if you are going to be in the kitchen pass me a spoon.
Eyyo Dav, canon diaper gettin smelly
Who’s the next former jazzman he plays against?
For 99% of the NBA, this would be them just being funny.
For Colin Sexton, this is the most serious shit of his life and I love him for that.

For fhe uninitiated
I’ve seen steph make shots from there
“You act like I’m gonna shoot from the tunnel”
“Yeah, you right”
“Got your ass” *hits 3 over backboard
If he goes into the tunnel, jumps into the air and catches a pass from a legal in-bounds team mate, and then puts it up over the backboard before he lands, thats a legal field goal right? If hes in the tunnel could they declare it a 3 even without the 3 point line?
Fairly certain when you step off the court you are no longer in bounds, so touching the ball would count as out.
But the rule of cool
Don’t you need to be established with in the court to do the whole jump up and grab the ball outside the court?
If you are out-of-bounds and jump you are not considered in-bounds just by being in the air.
KD would like a word.
Ahh…see, but I never said anything about taking several steps while out of bounds.
Touche
So weird that you’re referencing a random regular season play from many years ago and I know exactly what you’re talking about
Stop gaslighting refs, he was clearly in - https://i.imgur.com/dnfHVoY.jpeg
No. Once you step out of bounds you have to re-establish yourself inbounds before you can touch the ball.
I’ve been guarding him since he woke up coach
He’s gonna follow him home after the game
I’m sleep in his bed between him and Ayesha
They sleep in separate rooms
I’m sleep in the bed with only Steph
my man 🤝
I’ve been guarding Steph inside his dreams
I’ve been guarding dreams inside Steph
Why would he leave his man lol it wasn’t like he got subbed out
Tbf Steph was still guarded by Kris last week even if wes subbed out.
Most teams play help defense if their man don’t have the ball in the modern league.
If you are guarding steph, you probably shouldn’t help.
This guy asked “why would he leave his man” like he was speaking in general terms, not as if he was guarding Steph. Just clarification on my comment
Right and as soon as he leaves Steph he runs back in, gets the pass and drains an open 3.
The exception to this is Steph Curry.
Help defense is a simplified way to explain it. Defenders have rules depending on their assignment and position.
Not when your man is Steph. There have been times when Steph’s defender is faceguarding him even off-ball, so Kerr literally has Steph just stand near halfcourt away from the action in order to effectively make it a 4v4 game because at the NBA level more space on the floor almost always equals an advantage for the offense.
To quote the great Eric Apricot, no one ever got fired for guarding Steph Curry.
“No one ever lost their job for guarding Steph Curry”
Yeah, this is not a big deal at all. The fact that most comments are referencing a streamer and not their own experience faceguarding tells you all you need to know about this sub
To be fair…even good teams like the 22 Celtics and 24 Serbia National Team try guarding Steph like he’s a really good shooting point guard and not actually Steph Curry and Steph does Steph things and reminds them that they need to defend him like he’s Steph Curry because he actually is Steph Curry. And then the floor opens for everyone else.
this comment is dedicated to the memory of Bay Area Legend Ricky Henderson
The only reason this is posted is because it’s exactly like the skit lol
This footage will be shared on Reddit 10-20 years from now when the “X player is a better shooter than that Steph Curry guy you boomers love so much” discussions inevitably start being brought up by the next generation of NBA fans.
No one gonna say that when Curry highlights are available in 4K lol
When this plays out in the future there’s gonna be 32k and 4k will seem extremely blurry.
Hahahah bruh in the future, you’d be looking at highlights from VR courtside pov
Gonna have first person views from their own eyeballs fr
In the future, Silverbot will fire the human players and everyone will get their own AI NBA experience. You’ll just tell the VR system who you want to win the championship and then you’ll get to watch it from your Wall-E style fat chair. Commercials will just be injected into your veins.
Watch a 1 min ad to pick what team you will get drafted by 😂
If you don’t have a Braindance of the game, it didn’t happen.
And they’ll still be broadcasting games in 720p
They definitely will though. Like I could easily someone say some shit like “Kon was a better shooter than Curry” in 20 years because he averaged more 3pt shots per game because that was the era he walked into, not the era he opened
I can see argument like
“Curry is an overrated shooter because the league don’t know how to guard the 3 point line like we do now, that is why he never shoot another 400 3pt again.”
Curry played against weaker competition too
Bunch of Plumlees and Firemen
We have Jordan and Kobe documentaries & highlights and it hasn’t helped with any of the braindead comparisons.
there are some people who say kyrie is a better shooter/player in present day
I’m a huge Kyrie fan but he’s also the most overrated player ever lmao the fans swear he’s a top 3 PG of all time because of “skill”
Kyrie and AI could have an annual most overrated player competition
As soon as we develop 8k, these vids gonna be blurry as fuck
This is idealistic naivety on your part.
Besides, maybe they can’t stand watching that old choppy 2D bullshit.
Hell, 10 years sounds far more realistic than 20.
Why not, if X player in 10-20 years actually is better than Steph? We see this all the time in pretty much all sports, players keep getting better.
DPOY it’s over
This remind me of that rdcworld1 vid about how players be acting when they have to guard Steph curry.
How the hell is Sexton even 6’3 when Steph is listed at 6’2? Steph is clearly taller in this clip. Smh, the NBA is so unserious.
Steph is 6’3 and Sexton is 6’1 at best (which is too bad because if he was actually 6’3 he would’ve probably been a starter in the NBA)
Well he’s listed at 6’3” here but Steph is clearly an inch or 2 taller than him based off shoulder height and ignoring Sextons hair. Which is crazy because I heard Steph is probably actually only 6ft. hmmmmm
NBA is ass about listing heights.
Colin Sexton is 6’0.5” barefoot.
Steph is exactly 6’2” barefoot.
Measured 6-1.5 in shoes at the combine. Idk why he’s listed 6-3 unless he grew
He definitely didn’t lol. He was pretty clearly the smallest guy on the court last night.
Because Steph is a legit 6’2 and Sexton is NBA 6’3 (ie, if you count his shoes and hair lmao)
No one got fired by guarding curry.
Steph should have grabbed his hand a done a few skips.
A nice playdate timeout. 🥰
someone show Cash Money Mawk
I love it!
I tell players, that we have face guarding an opponent, that I want to know what flavor gum the person they are guarding is chewing and whether or not they brushed their teeth that day.
It gets the point across that I want them as close as possible to the person they’re guarding and adds some levity to things.
This is next level though and funny as well.
art imitates life
Even MJ didn’t get this coverage.
Am I misunderstanding the post but Curry isn’t actually heading into the locker room? He looks like he tried to bait Sexton but Sexton didn’t fall for it.
You’re correct
yeah, even the ref paused the game to see what the hell those two were doing
This is what you’re suppose to do as a defender. Make the other as uncomfortable as possible
steph’s retirement story would be crazy
He’s 37 and they still guard him like this…
If Steph jumped off a bridge, Sexton would’ve jumped after him
Young Bull doesn’t screw around.
Is this like half WWE/Real Basketball?
Stephs gotta be the only one in the history of the league whose been defended like this. Not saying he’s the best player or best scorer ever, but like opposing coaches will literally tell their guys to just follow Steph around and make the game 4v4. They won’t even look at what’s happening on the court in the sense that they could be a help defender or even hedge on a drive or something. Their whole job is just to stick to the guy.
Which also, I know the shooting is what he’s the GOAT at, but he’s also the GOAT at moving off ball. I am surprised to this day more shooters haven’t engaged a lot of those tricks and off ball screens Steph gets to get open. Obviously it takes a freakish amount of cardio to run that much, but when you can do it it clearly is effective. Instead they’ll just so simple screens or even worse just have them sit in a corner the entire possession to spread the floor. The whole point of what Steph does is to confuse the defense and create openings for buckets. So many teams could benefit from that style of offense.
Playoffs intensity
I mean Steph has hit shots from there
that RDC skit is goated
TIL what vomitory means
I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say it on air, but comes up all time behind the scenes in sports broadcast work and it always make me think someone is gonna puke over the edge.
Definitely an auditory double-take when he said it, I had to rewind a couple times to be sure.
I’ve only heard it in the context of the urban legend that Romans had a special room for puking- https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/purging-the-myth-of-the-vomitorium/
I mean Steph was still in the game.. that’s actually good that Sexton didn’t lose him at all.
By the title, I thought that Steph was subbed, lol.
Older millennial that doesn’t follow the sport at all. But I can damn well tell when someone is taking his job serious guarding another player 10⁄10
Makes me think of that rdc video where Curry wakes up and there’s a dude in his bedroom guarding him
“My son gets held and grabbed more than anyone in the league.”
Pretty biased commentary by Dell but he’s probably right
RDC stays winning
I already sent Curry to bed, please.
Why the Warriors wearing Zune Brown unis?
LMAOOOO
Atrocity from Draymond 🤢
I remember Lebron saying you better guard Steph the minute he pulls up to the arena
I respect it.
Sexton is the new Patrick Beverly…Uhh where was backpack Draybum to defend Curry
its still not enough tbh
Mark and the guys had it right all along
Don’t let the antics distract you from the unreal brick Dre threw at the rim!
That’s because Steph can still shoot it from the tunnel.
Only correct answer
GUARD COLLIN GUARD
STOP COLLIN STOP
reminds me of that rdc skit lol
i hate the narrative that collin sexton isnt a winning player. you cant deny his passion and mentality, even if this is a silly and fun moment.
the ref can see that but not a foul, carry or travel.
Makes sense. There have been examples of guys hiding behind coaches on the sidelines to come back into play for a steal, etc. A guy like Curry, with his quick release, you can’t back off of guarding him and go to the short corner just because you see him start to feign entering the tunnel. he’s liable to run back to the corner, catch and release a 3.
I wish curry had taken it a step further and gone up into the stands
Collin Sexton rules.
This, his staredown win here - https://www.google.com/search?q=collin+sexton+freethrow+line+staredown&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS981US981&oq=collin+sexton+freethrow+line+staredown&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCDY2NzdqMGoxqAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:711c7823,vid:wj9A8wA6k1U,st:0 - and the time he won a 3 on 5 (Alabama v Minnesota) are all very good.
Players gonna be guarding when even when he retires
Title makes it seem like Curry was leaving the arena smh
Luka could learn a thing or two from him
You can never be too safe with that man
Lol
Never seen anyone I hate just relentlessly show me that they are so good, but those rings he took from LeBron hurts and will never be forgiven 😒😭
The fake narrative that Curry is held / fouled more than anyone has really been picking up steam this year… It’s nauseating…
He literally is held more than anyone in the league.
why do you think it’s fake? how many Warriors games do you watch?
Enough to acknowledge that Curry is the greatest beneficiary of the current rule set. That’s not saying he wouldn’t be a good player regardless, but seriously, why is there all of this crying about how much he gets grabbed all of a sudden? That’s not the reason the Warriors are a mediocre team that tops out as first round fodder…
