Not to trash how our guys are playing but this has to be a result of an exceptionally weak east right? Like this team has been playing great but its are we really a top net rating team? I just can’t fathom it.

By the numbers, our offense is actually more efficient than last year.

A combination of a weak East, expert coaching by Joe squeezing every ounce of potential out of the young players, and Jaylen Brown becoming a midrange god.

The offensive efficiency weirdly doesn’t surprise me. Joe’s system is pretty great and most of our key losses outside Tatum were more defensive pieces. Jaylen has been balling and some really great shooters have been given a much greener light.

Exactly this.

If we were doing poorly a la the Pacers (sorry to the Indiana fans for using them as a negative metric) then we’d be getting criticised for it.

But because we’re doing well, people wanna play the weak east card, as if to take away from the fact that we lost our best player and championship core last summer, and we’re still one of the best teams in the league.

We have a top 6 record and we currently have the third largest difference in ppg between us and our opponents, only OKC and Detroit are doing better than us, which speaks volumes as to the quality of this squad.

The team is fantastic, Jaylen is having an MVP caliber season and Joe’s coaching is out of this world right now.

In the last 15 games the two teams with best Net Rating are Celtics #1 & Pistons #2. For the season Celtics & Pistons are 2nd & 3rd in the NBA in Net Rating after OKC. Celtics & Pistons will be a fun game on Monday. Both teams should be hyped for this battle. Playoff atmosphere!
