Here’s the story with the “boom” celebration:

During the 2020-21 season, the Warriors hosted the Wolves. In that game, Malik Beasley hit a big time three to retake the lead and just shouted “BOOOOOOM” with his teammates echoing it as Kerr called timeout. Since the arena was empty, you could clearly hear it lol. Well, Steph and Dray didn’t like that, bc after that every three they hit you could hear them both shout “BOOOOOOM” directly at the Wolves.

Dray been hitting that BOOOOOOOM off and on since, but especially this season bc he’s been letting it fly from three.

Warriors now have the 9th best net rating in the league. Their league record is an artifact of a lot of clutch losses including some refballs like the one point Clips loss.

I am sure Charles Lee has a lot of talent as a coach, but it was egregiously negligent by him to not prepare for the superstar scorer duo of De’Anthony Melton and Draymond Green.

Jokes aside, that was a great win. Winning by 20 against a team that gave OKC and the Lakers the business is very much a welcome sight, especially without our second option. Our guys are now on par in the win column with Houston and Los Angeles, things are certainly looking a lot brighter than they did a month ago.

We’re not great, but to be only 5.5 back from the 2 seed with our schedule to start the year, the mandatory rest for guys on back to backs, plus Kuminga giving us nothing is very encouraging.

We aren’t a title contender obviously, but if we can get anyone that’s usable for Kuminga we’ll be a tough out in the playoffs.

He wasn’t particularly good tonight, but the team is awful without him on the court as evidenced by…this entire game. The whole team’s defensive effort was just pathetic for 3.5 quarters, and there’s no real structure to the offense without Lamelo.

Funny enough I thought Kalkbrenner was the worst player on the court tonight, but he was the only Hornet with a positive +/-. Shoutout to Miles Bridges for his poor performance, too. He just cannot be relied on consistently to be a top 3 offensive option.

How has Lamelo become underrated at this point? His defense sucks still but the dude has been the main reason this team has been watchable over 4 years. His worst year, where he is having minute restrictions, is still showing how valuable of a player he is, if he can stay healthy and Hornets get a center they are good. The hornets are young and a player like Lamelo does better as the 2nd/3rd option due to his athleticism.
